I feel so ashamed about the SWG Community

I just read the interview:
"Staff writer Steven Crews spent some time chatting with Jake Neri, from LucasArts, discussing Star Wars Galaxies‘ history and where it is heading in the future."
And all I have to say is: shame on the SWG-Community!
Why ?
Because after all the complains of the veterans about pre-cu and after all the mess SOE has made with this once great game, people are still paying money for NGE-starwars galaxies instead of saying with one voice NO to SOE.
How come? propably because of the fanboi-syndrom or because some fanbois enjoy beeing "pat-headed" by SOE "oh, good customer, keep paying for it".
I'm just glad that I left this game when the first combat upgrade hit, everything that used to be complex has been taken away with the first combat upgrade and the NGE, along with aesthetics, diversity and beautiness...
never again will I trust this company, and that interview with Steven Crews is like a hit in the face of all swg-veterans...
and yes, once you played SWG pre-cu, any other game won't do...

I'll never beat on someone who enjoys the NGE. If they enjoy it then all the power to them.
In a way I'm kind of envious, as I wish I can find it fun again. Last time I tried it I felt it was more tedious and repetative then any other MMO I've ever played. I honestly couldn't take more then 10 mins at a time, as I found it frustratingly boring.
I agree, why let people enjoy a game when a few of us don't like it!

er, Outlaw, in case you didn't notice around 100,000 people play that game, now there are probably going to be barely any of that playing NGE, it's more the other way round if you bothered to do your research.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
i play and love eq2.....that makes me evil!!! woot! And until you pay the subs for those enjoying and playing swg, you have NO right to ostracize them. In fact...i am going to resub my stationpass and hop onto TC for Chapter 7 in swg just, for no other reason, to give swg more money and piss off people like you.
Never assume you are the end all know all. I dislike the NGE...but if you like then, then by all means play it...never assume to dictate to others what they SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be doing, or what they enjoy, you dolt

Cancelled all of my accounts 'several times'. I'd go back and try it... re-up them all, try out all the prof's.... hate it again (after realizing how much had been taken away from the overall experience/fun).
I'm done and won't log back in.

I actually found that pic kind of amusing at first. Now it's just doing exactly what it's portraying.

This very issue was discussed on the SWG official fora right after the NGE went live, on the Ahazi board.
What is interesting is that some of those who decicded to stick with the game, despite the changes, did so on a reduced level; they had multiple accounts before the NGE hit, and cancelled some of them but retained one or two accounts.
In my guild it seemed that the most active players had multiple accounts. The nature of the original SWG was that there was only so much you could do with 250 skill points, and the guild might have "holes" in it, some professions that were not represented by just players with one account, so people bought second, third, or fourth accounts, not only for their own play experience but to support the guild.
There were some who had second accounts so they could have a toon in the other faction for GCW reasons, for example to have a base of opposite faction for grinding purposes, or to score cheap GCW points in the metagame.
The NGE for obvious reasons eliminated a lot of second and third accounts by dumbing down the professsions to the nine iconic ones. But moreso, it was people pissed at the changes and the only thing that SOE understands (and by extension, LA) is not giving them money.
So there was a great deal of agitation on the fora to punish SOE for its crimes by taking away the only thing that they cared about. Then there were somoe just rabid Star Wars fans who had to get their fix, and SWG provided it. I recall one guy who posted a defense of the NGE saying it really wasn't that bad, once you got used to it. Eventually, though, he quit the game because the NGE was pretty boring compared to even the CU...the combat was only "faster" because they sped up the animations to give it the illusion of being faster...but with much less tactical depth than the old combat system had. So it got boring.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I don't think it's fair or even relevant to chastise others because they are enjoying a game you despise. I can probably look at the game boxes on your shelf and identify one or two which I'll find inexplicable that anyone should enjoy.
To take your complaint a step further - why don't gamers respond with one voice -NO! - to any buggy, boring or incomplete game, regardless of what it is? Doesn't that make more sense than singling out one group who are enjoying themselves?
Remeber, your beef is against LA and SOE, not fellow gamers.

I no longer play EQ but i still love the memories and hold no grudge against those playing the Much different EQ now.
All these games went EZ mode to try to get the numbers that the new games that were released EZ mode were getting (i wont say which game). They did this to try to make money, not lose it. Unfortunetly for them this didnt work. But it was their game(s) to do with as they wanted so thats that. Dont like it, move on and find something else.
Or you could just continue to cry about it years later, that is a good idea too.

The NGE is pretty bad. Even if I hadn't been a day 2 vet of SWG: Pre-CU then I wouldn't spend more than an hour playing the NGE... It just sucks. It's a pitiful example of what a Star Wars MMO COULD be.
I don't envy people who can enjoy games like that. I pity them. They spend so much time playing something that is so universally considered garbage and they don't know better, they even justify and fraudulently defend their reasoning...
The only real reason I can think they still play is that they simply aren't intelligent enough to know any better or just really easily amused, related to an employee of SOE/LA, or trying to kill as many braincells as quickly as possible. On a serious note, people who actually PAY to beta-test this game are perplexing, to say the least.
More power to them and props to Smedley for yanking them for every penny he can... Gotta give the man some credit, he knows how to lead the rats with a flute.

Now this is funny. I'm having a hard time understanding what qualifies the people who do not play the game to pass judgement on those that do? What's more unintelligent -- playing a game that you enjoy, or continually coming to a fan board to bash a game that you don't like and don't play? Who's trying to kill braincells here?
