I know its just beta and everyone that is enjoying HGL has to know by now which class they like so far? Me personally, I like the Hunter, I havent tried the Engineer yet, but that looks pretty cool. A couple buddies of mine are enjoying the Blademaster. Anyhoo just curious on the publics experience on class.
Oops Hunter = Marksman .. sorry

Looks like Summoner has an early lead. I am playing a Summoner and love the minions you get to help. Going to try a Blademaster.
I played the demo and fell in love with the Marksmen. My girlfriend loved the Blademaster - so we will more-than-likely duo those two in retail. We cannot speak for the other classes since we've not had a chance to play them yet.
It's sad, since I'm not in the beta and I have to wait until my pre-order processes with EA, so I'm farming the demo
I'm probably going to be a marksman first, so that's what i voted for. After that a summoner, and after that a guardian.
Im going to try blademaster,'healer' spec guardian and summoner for me.Possibly a engineer with all the bots.
I love the summoner archetypes in this style of game,I made several minion necros in D2 and a minion version of a class in a certain beta game very similar to this...
Guardians are teh w00t!
Damn and I thought Evoker would be popular in the BETA. I tried evoker and kept getting owned pretty quickly so I went back to marksman. Evoker is pretty much like your magic user class with area attacks I believe, but it seems no matter what class you pick, they all got area attacks.
I may try to roll with Evoker when the game comes out since its the most difficult for me to play.
most ppl r going to be hunters since its going to be FPS and instead of the name Hellgat:london..they might as well call it Doom4
I really like the marksmen and gaurdain nothing else tried been close to as fun but really want to figure out how to play blademaster well but it just seems to suck compared to marks and gaurdian.
Have 3:
Bobross, LvL 10 , Marksman
Zydella , LvL 18, Summoner
Grilledcheese , LvL 10 , Engineer
I like the last 2 better. Marksman is a bit on the boring side but can be useful in groups to hang back with a rocket laucher from 40m out and splash dmg everything.
Playing through as an engineer now, I'm liking that class equal to or better than the summoner.
Bob Ross
Short summary of my beta experience with the various classes.
Blademaster - If you like melee, this is a good choice. Powerful and it's fun because the class lacks good defenses, so you often find yourself in difficult situations.
Guardian - While effective, I found it to be somewhat boring because some of the skills are so powerful that it makes some encounters far too easy.
Summoner - People who like pet classes might enjoy this class. Unfortunately, I almost always play pet classes but the summoner frustrated me to no end because we have so little control over the pets behavior.
Evoker - Feels weak and underpowered. Many of the magic skills just feel like gunplay with limited ammo.
Marksman - Effectiveness depends heavily on the quality of your gun. It is quite fun, but many consider it an underpowered class.
Engineer - Can be played similarly to a Marksman and the pets add another dimension to gameplay. The primary pet can be a decent tank, which is extremely helpful. Although we have so little control over the pets and the pet AI can be overly aggressive, this is still the class I found the most fun to play.
Just played the demo so I have choose Marksman.
Quick question: how you guys manage to use your mouse to aim and use WASD to move and hit 1-9 key for your abilities at the same time. I have tried the Blademaster and I had a hard time to fight and get out of the way at the same time.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!
I can't decide between Guardian and Marksman, so I'll have both.
I'm a tank at heart. For me, nothing beats going toe-to-toe with a boss, or being at the bottom of a mob dogpile, or the thanks of a squishy I just saved. With a Guardian I get all that plus an entire line of skills dedicated to shield attacks with charging and pushbacks... /salivate
On the other hand, I do love clearing a room full of mobs with a Strike+Grenade+Rapid Fire
o ya there is no hunter class it was a mistake made by the OP
Played evoker and summoner to 16+
I found evoker to be far stronger at all levels. The pets are cool.. but that evoker damage just makes everything a breeze from level 1 on.
I like all the classes really but Blademaster is tons of fun to play The aoe sword attacks are fun to unleash on your foes. Also the charge skill is very cool as well.
I've tried Blademaster, Envoker and Summoner. I like Summoner the best so far.
I find the Blademaster a little tough and the Evoker too similar to the Summoner. Summoner, by far, seems the most powerful class. I'm up to 7 minions and seem unstoppable.
I'll be playing Guardian in retail.
Blademaster really hit the spot for me, the in ya face action, and total destruction of enemies is really attractive especially if you have monster swords, but the most fun I'm having right now is with the summoner.
Just tried out the Elite Mode on the Test Server and all I can say is that Guardians do rock! I got my guardian to level 8 on Elite with some friends, this mode is extremely hard but the loots drops kick ass.
If I ever get to access the Elite portion of the game, this probably be my choice at this point.

Thanks for the idea, but still, my hand is not use to this type of control. I do not think I can get use to it. I will have to pass on HG:L.

You can also just remap the harder to reach hotkeys to various letters that are closer to WASD.
i read a article about the hunter and it talks hw the FPS works...The FPS invovle RPG element like stats..
so i guess the more stats u hve thts based on the hunter...the more accurate u r
I've been in beta for about two months now and have gotten to try each class, and the classes I am really diggin are the Blademaster and the Engineer. They're both really fun to play and offer totally different gameplay and combat experience.
