Should I return to PS?

I played PS when first released for a couple of months (don't remember exactly how long). But eventually got bored of paying for a game where almost no new content was added.

So my question... What's new and how has the game changed?

I've noticed a couple of new vehicles, but they haven't excited me at all.

I hear Core Combat is a waste of money as no one plays in the caves.

The only thing that seems interesting is the greater emphasis on the benefits that capturing bases provide.

What I really got sick of (although I don't remember the exact mechanics of it) was something to do with players just sitting on bases waiting for the capture XP; and the enemy having almost no reason to try and retake the base. (Or something like that). Has this changed at all?

eh, I think there's a lot different (I beta tested and am now a subscriber). the important thing to me in this game is that you get with a good outfit and get oriented with them. it's half the game imo. I think there's still a trial, if there is make sure you give it another go.

Well i didnt play since beta but even in my playtime a lot has changed. No ppl dont just sit in bases to wait for xp, they changed this system long time ago. PS has had many changes like LLU, capitol buildings, nerfs, buffs and other things and i must say it has gotten much better. You should try this game after week or so when Battle continents come out, ou yeah that will be cool. Oh and new veichle is in development Phantasm (cloaked transport ), so thing should improve drastically in near future.

if you think it's only fun for a month that's because you probably made no friends and had no outfit (at least a good one) check out Sturmgrendier for NC, The Enclave for TR, and Xen of Onslaught for VS...those are all good Emerald outfits that you'll find make the game much more fun. (I'm a member of The Enclave and loving it)

I was with Xen for a while, and I can attest that they're a great bunch to hang out with. I was in the closed beta and kept my subscription going for about a year afterwards. It's a good game, but it does get tiring after a while with all of the screams for nerfs. Balance is a huge part of the game of course since you have three empires all with their own speciality. The problem was that Sony didn't seem to know "what" speciality it was sometimes Either way, it's a landmark game.. and the addition of the new vehicles (and to some extent the CC weapons) gave a new bit of life into the game itself. Now whether or not that keeps it up and running for the next year or so.. that's the real question.

If you like a lag filled environment and a game full of bugs and new bugs created with each patch.......Then sure come on back to Planetlag.. Not to mention the game still has its exploits, speedhackers, and unbalanced empires...

PS has become to me the game that has been revamped over and over and over the most of anything that i've ever played.

They just keep redoing everything. I suppose its good, but because its a totally pvp based game you're going to get more ppl whining about balancing :P

I was with PS since it's beta stage, but after playing it for 4 months, I ditched the game. The reason why I quit was because I got tired of seeing people run back and forth to factions because one side has the better weaponry.

My second and last reason for quiting is that all I heard 90% of the time (personally) was," that (weapon name here) is too strong, it needs to be nerfed!" Nerf....nerf...nerf

So that kinda sums it up for me leaving PS.

I think you should return I play rarely anymore but was into heavy after being picked as a beta tester, definitely a good game to play and I am sure most of you know this already. I dont think I will be playing much longer with the upcoming releases of World of Warcraft and Everquest II which I am really looking forward to. But I had a real blast playing Planetside and reached the top 5 players for my race. Won't forget the good time I had playing that game definitely had lots of fun and I am sure it is more than it was before. Give it a shot would you?

Yup I sucked dude.. I was terrible at the game.. Hell I dont even know how I did anything at all like stop ememys from taking bases or drop a key gen at a key point in time...

Please son take a look at my kills (Mangledbabylegs) and then take a look at yours....Nuff said think you can get that many kills at br 18? I dont havent seen one person post Surge nerf patch do it yet... and I check all the time...

You know when you get 20 hate tells a night saying how your speedstepping are sending packets your doing something right..

And as far as being organized come face me in the game.. Me and a few hitmen can show you better then we can tell you... message me in game son anytime

Now back to the topic... If you want to come back thats on you.. It really depends on what type of char you are... If you were a grunt who licked to fight on the ground then I would say no... Do to the certification change it has made it extremly easy to get spam weapons like the flail and the reaver and now there is going to be a new uber vehicle/weapon on the block... MECHS O JOY (blah)....If you like fighting in vehicles then hell yes grab this game its all about vehicles now...If you liked fighting in Maxes then guess what your going to be gettting a buff soon(agianst DECI's).. very soon...

If you like playing TR... no the devs have no love for you....If you like the VS the devs love you... And if you like the NC.. not much has changed neither much love or hate....One last thing... If you rememer all the silly patches the Devs put in saying this would boost performance and all it did was cut you FPS.. then guess what.. There still going strong with nerfing our Peformance with there buggy patchs.... Just check there official site and see for yourself all the complaints.. LOL wait till this next patch comes out... STANDBY!

The TR are getting 2 of there maxes fixed not buffed if you ask me... Those maxes are the AI and AV max... So far on the test server there are missed reviews so dont get your hopes up to high TR the devs still hate you as always.. The prowler is getting a better AA gun.. thats all... And thats all for you hooo TR boys WEEEEEE.....There AA max is still gimped agianst high flying LIB's the Marauder is still sucky compared to the other 2 empire vehicles... The MCG needs a better COF but that will never come..

Anyways this game is still unbalanced plus this patch will help make the VS even better..Just you wait and see..

wow u are a complete moron, hate to say that, but wow ur way off, my brother, my cousin, and i all play planetside, i havent seen any bugs lately, the only one i remember is the gettin stuck on each other in spawn tubes. but thats about it. and for lag? What lag? i have 0 lag at all, the patches have fixed that, and yes corecombat sucks as a whole, but some good things have comed out of it, the good thing is , some new weapons that make the game more warlike. Such as the flail its an artiliery unit that the game never had. This game has improved greatly over time, i quit, early on thinkin it would never change, i came back when i heard the good news, i suggest tryin the game out again , try to get into a good outfit that is active.

Wow when a noob speaks people .... Laugh.... NO bugs aye noob?

How about this and Ill just list a few....

1. The Corpse bug (where a corpse or a dead vehicle acts as a shield for a enemy that is behind it, which wont allow you to shoot him)

2. The infilltrater exploit that is running rampat right now (just check the Official site for info and a cool vid, if the devs havent deleted it yet) You can thank the EURO players for this latest hack.

3. The Wall bug *same as number 1*

4. The flail bug (which allows a flail to pound the hell out of a ams and kill everything around it, BUT THE AMS) lol AMS takes no damage at all but the flailer rings up the kills. BS

5. The detect AMS exploit (same as the Infilltrater one)

6. The surge exploit (sometimes you are able to surge with your med healer thing out)

7. The towers bug (this one is funny as hell, sometimes towers will just all of a sudden switch empires, the Devs even said there looking into this one check the freaking site NOOB.)

8. The surge bug (sometimes when you activate on surge it will not activate but o wait your stamina will continue to drain untill you have none left, then your surge will deactivate, o joy)

9. Mini Map bug (I dont feel like explaining this one, you actually have to PLAY THIS GAME CURRENTLY to know what im talking about)

10. And Ill end this (SHORT) list by listing perhaps the worst exploit of all time, SPEEDSTEPPERS yes there still here (trust me) and SOE no matter what they say cant do a damn thing about them...)

These are just a few of the Bugs/expliots.. Now who is the Moron, next time if you dont know what your talking about how about you close your sucker..

As for the lag, please son go to the offical site (agian) and check out all the complaints people have about how the games performance is going down and down with ever freaking patch...

Just though up some more bugs that have been pissing me off and have been around for ever..

How about the one where people shoot with there weapons on there back.. This problem came out I would say around December last year..

What about the one where people shoot straight up in the air like rockets when they get to the top of the stairs.. This one has more to do with the poor coding probably..

To put it simple with ever new patch SOE creates just as many bugs as it fixes, if not more...

Some might as why I play this game still then well its simple.. I want to play a Massive Multi Online First person shooter.. And untill someone has the balls to do it (besides SOE) im stuck with this laggy, buggy, exploit filled game..But that dont mean that I have to like every min of it.

I have played beta, + 3 months after and I came back about a month ago. Now there is allot more strategy with al those LLU, Modules from underground caves. The certifications have changed. Youy can now have the 3 max suit for only 5 certs pts (Before you needed 9).

Allot of god new things to enjoy in that game!

Erm never lag here on the euro server or USA ones.

If you have a good cable connection,1GB RAM and a good card you should have no problem with lag.

I repeat i have none and everyone i know with a descent connection and system has none even in large scale battles.

Erm thats nice but as I said tons of people do.. Dont believe me I have Proof (which you dont) that people have problems.. Go to the official site and see for your self the complaints.. Type in Lag, peformance issues,bad FPS, what ever you can think of and watch the hits come rolling in...

O and that patch had to have a emergency fix due to the fact that there was a new bug that SOE had out.. Seems people were dying every time they tried to hart to a cont.. Like I said they make a new bug or 5 for ever patch they put out.. Someone should give there QA guys a raise, for a job well done.. yeah right.

Erm geforce4 what?If its an MX then you will lag .I tried my old Geforce4200ti with the game and it worked fine.Did lag a bit in large battles.So i imagine if you have the MX version then you will be in lag hell.Bugs wise.I dunno there is no major bug i know of since they fixed the door bug like 6 months or so ago.

I would not deny this game is demanding on the system been it has massive battles and needs a good FPS.Espically the Graphics card.But once you got the hardware its smooth sailing i use a R9800pro and get 60fps in a big battle easy.A friend of mine uses a GeforceTi4600(highest one for the 4 series) and gets like 30fps in a big battle.So i imagine the MX cards will lag horribly in a large battle for sure.

You may say what another card update to get a good time in a MMO.But as many will tell you thats the downside of been a MMO gamer.I myself am thinking of a new card at the end of the year even though my system is using a R9800pro.

So you saying that you have never seen any of the bugs I listed? I find that amusing that or you really dont play much.... Ok what about this bug.. I know you have seen Motion Sensors that are stuck into the wall or into objects, Hence making them impossible to destroy.. Better know as the push method, as you can push a sensor through a object..
