Some issues i've had with the game.

Here are some issues i've had with the game.

First off, the maps. Even though they are "randomized" it's still pretty predictable. It may be random, but the general layout is still the same. The street maps are all the same, the sewer maps are all the same , etc. Sure a box may be placed in a different area, but the general area looks the same.

Also, the gameplay is kinda lame. I've almost fallen asleep playing. At times i didn't even have to click. I just hold down the fire button, and move my crosshairs in the monster's general direction. I've yet to test out the blademasters, and such but i can't imagine them being the fast paced action i was looking for. (Or if they are, Flagship has really gotta find a way to make engineers, marksman play style more interesting)

Right now, i see alotta hype for this game, and people shitting on Tabula Rasa, but honestly, i found Tabula Rasa less buggy, and the gameplay much more fast paced.

These are some issues i've had with the game. Feel free to give your own input, but please, i'd like to see input from people who have actually played the game/ and who have played a decent while.

I played all the classes up to level 5 only, and found my sorcerer type char to be fun in the sense that I had to continually run around in order to not get mauled to death.

I agree the maps do look a little similar but from the preview trailer theres some pretty cool areas there we haven't seen yet. What we can only get to 22 or so? theres still 30 levels of stuff to see the highest level i got was level 8 or 9 i think. the main story instances are different. For example, the last of act 1 i believe i was in some sort of abandoned mansion and well i wont ruin the story but it was pretty interesting what happened. I think the instances will get better along the way and endgame areas should rock.

Im guessing you are talking about the the Demo?

Of course its going to be easy. Have you ever played Diablo2?

The first 5 levels are basicly 2 shotting mobs. After that it gets harder and harder and you fight more and more mobs.

Now about the random map design. Again, have you ever played diablo2? The maps are randomized the mobs are randomized the elite mobs and their locations are randomized.

It gives you a sense of "Hey this place is familiar but completely different."

From playing the game it seems exactly like an upgraded diablo2, from the sockets to the random items to the skill trees and the stat allocations. It just seems amazing.

People wanting MMOs or FPSs need to look the other way, this is a hack and slash dungeon crawler just like diablo2 and its fucking awesome.

Sure, diablo's maps were similar, but they were big, and not that easy to clean out. Plus they only used the same map for that act. In the beta, i was seeing the same map at level 22 when i was level 2.

Sure, they are going to add more maps, but i doubt they will radically change the feeling of the game in the last 30 levels. I mean level 22 is almost half of the game. Can the 2nd half be that much different?

Blademaster isn't any funner and is probably the worst playstyle. Ranged things are annoying as hell and leaping/fling/digging things are worse. In general all you do is run into a pile of mobs and hold down swing until everything is dead. Your swing has a front cone of about 90 degrees and a back cone of 90 degrees. So pretty much anything that isn't directly at your left or right side will die. The skills are unimpressive and I only use them to finish bosses faster.

As for problems I have? Well does getting stuck on everything count? I mean heaven forbid I jump on a car.  Getting hit through walls and from a distance that you shouldn't is also annoying as hell. Bag space also sucks.

The maps were not very random but I think thats mostly due to the size of them, there is only so much you can fit into those smaller maps when they are made up of long subway tunnels. As I got to some larger areas I noticed more differences with each run (I got up to around level 10 on a marksman and 8 on a blademaster).

I didn't enjoy my blademaster very much, but mostly because every bladmaster was using swords. I would have liked it more if you could focus on different types of weapons like marksmen can.  I had a blast on my marksman, I focused her on aoe's like grenades and area effect weapons. The boss fights were a little rough but most everything else was blown up before it got too close. The few that did nearly killed me though and I had to run my ass off.

I don't have any issues with the game itself, and will enjoy it as a single-player vacation from DDO when I don't feal like chopping up kobolds. But other issues outside of the game left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be subscribing.

I don't really have major issues with the game either. Yeah I guess we can have more random maps but perhaps down the road they will give us some if people ask for it.

The gameplay is actually pretty fun and fast paced. Though I am not one who expects companies to make perfect games because there is no such thing. Out of all the games I ever played I can't think of a game that was majorly challenging. Most games including mmo's,rpgs and fps games are all time spent over skill. For example, look at what happened to AOC. Funcom had to revamp the combat system because testers found the combat to be too complex and they had to push back the release 6 more months.WOW, on the other hand which is probably the least innovative game in history has 9 million people are playing it and it takes hardly any skill at all. The gaming trend seems to be is to make the game simple but fin so that many people can play your game. The more people that play the game the more money they make.

I been playing in beta almost since the beginning. FSS and Ping0 have done a nice job getting the majority of the bugs out of the game. It has been alot of fun and looking forward to the release.
