After some reading from people who have played the beta and demo i thought this game was going to fail. But i dl the demo and played...all i can say is that its going to rock! You can see right away this game is developed by experienced people. I played insanely much diablo2 and loved the gameplay. You will notice that this game is created by the same people who made diablo2 right away. No one have made a diablo2 clone yet even close to match the old. Only the dreamteam from former blizzard north can do this and u notice it right away in the demo. Graphics are really great, when u kill a monster it always die differently, i really laughed when i was killing the same zombie nr100 and his torso blew off, but the legs were still standing and they really wanted to kill me still and jumped towards me attacking...rofl. This game is class man, damn i go preorder now, i just wanted to tell people they shouldnt listen too all this bad critque of the game, its mostly about the game fee 10$ a month for extra features anyway. The game itself is really cool if you like diablo2 like i did. Im buying it right now! This is diablo 3!

I agree with you.  People that are complaining are looking for something this game never claimed to be - saying this isn't a MMO, etc.. well no sh*t.  They incorporated the old chat room function of looking for a group into the game, which is very next-gen.  Other than that, it's very good - a lot like Diablo 2 but indeed, better in every way and with much better graphics.

Krupos and the other one ,

let me say, your actually totally wrong everyone are hyping to much this game. And if  you try the demo you can tell one thing totaly underdevelopped. This game gonna do like much other game, if we took Halo 3 like an exemple everyone gonna buy it and  2 week max after no body gonna play it, and the population for the multiplayer gonna lack and finaly disepear.

I really sure after i experienced it that game is like tubula rasa, no futur at all, the art team doing pretty bad developpement on those bot game. Really disapointing andone more thing DONT COMPARE this to the ultimate DIABLO title, that a shame !!

    fixed for the truth.

on a side note the monthly fee will kill this game imo.. that the only thing that will prevent me to buy it... i dont want to caution such rippoff and i dont want to see other companys following that path.

All idiots fanboys should open their eyes and put apart the awsome things about hellgate ( cuz yea the game is good imho even if its has lot of bugs)  and just objectivly look at that only point.

EA can come *** my *** they wont get my money on that.

HGL is by far the best multiplayer game I've played in over a year. (other than TF2) I cant stop playing this game. (beta) I have a lvl 18 Engineer and it's a blast. I go out with three drones that slow enemies, another drone that fires scores of rockets and a Bot that I can equip with any weapon and chest armor. The weapon customization is incredible. Weapons have different lvls of quality, slots for mods and other enhancements that let you customize for your style of play. One thing that suprised me was a mission where i controled a squad of fighters from a top down perspective. I was able to tell them what to do and also call in air strikes. Very cool.

Btw guys, is beta over? If i preorder now can i still get to play in beta?  Im getting a little bored playing the demo now. Me and a friend tried it last night, my friend is also hooked hehe. We had so many games we tried since WOW, and all of them is just crap including WOW =) But when we sat down and played this demo, we realised fast what great potential this game has. Its not FPS, its hack'n slash, with FPS option through the sniper skill, great action, great item system(like in diablo2). jesus this game is maybe something we all been waiting for in a real long time.

"OMGZOR GAMES COST MONIES!! NO WAI!"

    That is all.

Note: If you will remember, Diablo 2 had ads in it also, in the form of battlenet  banners.

the beta is not over and will even continue for a week after the game goes live. All characters will be wiped from this beta but once it comes back online those toons will remain.

  • KrulosKrulos Member Posts: 68

Does it matter where i order the game from or is it only some retailers who give beta keys?

  • LouiseKLouiseK Member Posts: 258

The demo in no way, shape or form did the game justice.

Its gonna be a lot of fun if nothing else :)

Im one of those guys that rather buy games instead of looking for torents+ cracks. I pay 3 monthly fees for various mmorpg.

See money isnt the issue.. i d be glad to pay for a gme if it justified... it s not  here.

Now that my opinion and in no way i m gona tell you how to spend you'rs.

I think this game is getting too much hype also, and that many people reading reviews are going to be disappointed.

I'll come clean and admit that I've only played to level 8, but it was enough of the game to tell that it's just a no-brainer. There is no skill required to play - literally. You don't even need your skills. Just run around, and smash your left mouse button to swing your sword and collect the loot.

The story is super generic, and no one cares about the side quests. There is an OVER-abundance of loot like I've never seen before, except for maybe the recently deceased Auto Assault. The weapons and armor you get from the day to day travels are MORE than enough to make the game easy mode. You don't even need to mod anything, or put any thought into this game at all. You win just by logging in.

I'd call it mindless carnage, and maybe that's fitting, but it's almost a disservice to the phrase. It's more like mind-numbing carnage. But hey, if you're an admitted loot-whore, and you get your kicks more off the pacing of a game rather than the difficulty, it's probably worth a shot.

If you're a PvPer though, or tend to choose the more difficult to master classes in traditional MMO's, I'd save your money and skip this one. Either way, don't say I didn't warn ya.

As a beta tester, I originally did not like the game. I thought the quests were too similar as were the zones. However, after playing a summoner to level 17, I have done a full 180 and think it's great. Yesterday, I had a quest in temple Station which required the use of night vision goggles to complete. It was stunning. The only fault I find so far is the lack of grouping. So far, I've been able to easily solo every quest which may explain the lack of groups. I'm hoping there will be quests which require groups to complete. The community seems very much like B Net, very young. I don't think this will be enough to diminish my excitement but could get ugly later on.

The game isn't really an FPS but in the review they were putting it up against HL2 and CoD4 which isn't fair.

Wow thats pretty low.Im off to buy the magazine in a little while,so ill have a good read.
Still debating whether to buy the game or not, especially after seeing that, though another review put it at 89%..might leave it a month or so until more reviews come out.
I can always buy orange box to tide me over,it was either that or HG:L anyway :)

You do realize you were playing a beta and that final difficulty balancing had yet to be done? This is most often one of the last thing that is done in game creation. The amount of loot is fine because when you salvage stuff for raw componants you go through alot of equipment to find the best parts. I thought the story was fine, going into the tecnicians mind was one of the most interesting things I've seen in a game. The RTS mission, the dark mission. All well worked into the game.

You do know that PVP is basically non existent in HGL right?  All the hardcore D2 players (myself included) are going to flock to this game, realize the severe lack of PvP and never return to it again.

I thought that was very cool too till i lost god knows how many legendary and rare weapons and armors because of crashing/disconnecting all because they haven't figured out how to make the fucking drone save weapons and armor.  And they do great in combat when they aren't shooting at a fucking wall.  My biggest complaints so far which i don't see being addressed at all are:

    Story...or complete lack there of.

Skill Trees...retarded progression and a complete and utter mess

Weapon upgrading...While i do like the idea to be able to upgrade damage on weapons, at level 20 i was still using that legendary gun i found at level 9.

Unstable...Although this seems to have gotten better recently.  Don't get disconnected nearly as often.

Level design...While the levels look really nice, the awe seems to fade after the 100th time seeing the exact same level.  For being a random level design they sure look the same to me.  If i were to glance at someone's screen, i would not be able to tell where they are.

melee combat...Well it basically sucks.  you basically just stand there, let everything swarm to you, hold down the attack key and hit 1-2 skills over and over.  Don't really have to worry about aiming cause your attack radius is basically 360 degrees.

No pvp...As far as i know as of now you have to group with someone, both enter the same zone and then both type /pvp in order to fight.  There have been numerous people advocating the exclusion of PvP so i have no idea how that is going to work out.

monthly fee...I have no problem with paying monthly fees as long as i feel is worth it.  But paying 10 bucks a month for more storage space and an extra difficulty level, does not seem worth it to me.  They need to elaborate on what additional "content" i'll be getting with my subscription.  A difficulty level is not content.

  • I think the haters are just jealous that this game will get more paying subscribers then any other MMO except WoW.  They're also jealous that people are going to have, gasp, FUN in this game, unlike again almost every MMO created.

The severe lack? There will be plenty of PVP, but not in same matter as in diablo where u can go around and PK as a looney with all your crash hax, duped uber items and TP PK . the PVP in diablo2 is dead man, simply because of the hax. Heres a fresh new game, same settings as in diablo only that u cant enter a game press hostile button and go kill every single noob in the game. The pvp is for people who are willing to engage it and thats sounds fair enough to me...im pretty damn sure plenty of people want to engage pvp mode. Its a new game and im sure with time the only thing u do in this game is grind items so u can make that crazy uber dual wielding 2 hander blademaster pwner better at killing other players...just like in diablo2. Maybe your problem is u cant bring your chicken hack along? ;)

or maybe my problem is that it is a week until release and there is still nothing that resembles a working pvp system.

I was thinking about buying it but a question or two if someone could answer or w/e please.

Will there ever be pvp implemented?

Will there be or is there end game content?

I did play the beta for a bit I actually liked it a lot just didn't like the fact there was no pvp, my highest was 17 so wasn't sure about end game.

    Thank You

Please come check out my stream. All the love is appreciated!

Yeah, it doesn't really matter though man. The only difficulty they can add this close to launch is more HP, or making the mob's hit harder.

You know how in WoW or other games there were dungeons with gear checks? Where you couldn't progress past a point without the right gear? Well in action games, you need skill checks. A demonstration at some point that you've mastered certain abilities, and can now progress past a point. It's why in some games there's that super tough boss that kills you dozens of times, and that you can't get past without pulling every trick in the book.

This game lacks that totally. There's no sense of accomplishment. It's just whack-a-mole, whack-a-mole, over and over while collecting grand quantities of loot. I'm not hating, but I'm just not into it.
