LotRO is like that girl you dated some years ago whos name you have forgotten and you can't really seem to remember her face either.
Started off good I thought.... but Turbine of late seems to be taking it in the wrong direction.... choosing to decrease player's skills/power to increase challenge, instead of creating new hard content and more new skills/playstyles to be able to deal with it.
You are guaranteed to find pleasure in 15 levels...then after this, grouping comes into play for a lot of quests (basically, storylines are started with quests you can solo, and always seem to end with an instance or grouped Epic quest)...also a lot of people here on these forums, and on the LOTRO forums say level 30+ proves to be a bore, and not as pleasurable (even though there are those who also like it...)
So, if your a group based player, and find a server with a lot of people (ask around), then you will enjoy it..
Of course you will never know, as we do not know what YOU like...for myself, I did not enjoy that part of the game, and dealt with issues of an ugly UI, performance (which so far is varied for many people...it just did not do well for me) and outsourced tech support that has proven to be spotty...and finally a limited class and race selection...which some people feel is a good setting for a low fantasy..(meaning minimal magic, and realistic visuals with not many fantastical creatures...)
Good luck and cheers!
Instead of posting a poll, download it and play for the free trial. If you think 7 days is too short of a time, ask around for a 30 day trial from a founder.
As a casual player, I love the game - my wife & I log on for 1-3 hrs usually 2 times a week. If you are "hardcore", you will most likely find the game too easy, level to 50, then complain that there isn't enough content...as happens in every MMO that I've ever played.

I like it, although it does get a bit boring in the later levels, it's a new game...So that will develope in time!
it's not the best ever, but is the best atm;)
Its ok. At least its polished and real purty-like.
Probably one of the better big-name MMOs available. Whether thats a good thing is debatable.
No, its not a great game at the moment. It is a good game though and will only get better over time.
Only nerds play LOTRO
Ooohh, i wanna be legolas lol.
heh..LOTRO seems sooo great in the beggining when i first logined..i was like oh snap im in the middle of a battle already! cool epic battles are seen in LOTR...not i loot some dead guy and fight like 3 monsters..then it became boring from then on, the skills icons are looking pretty gay too, wouldnt play this game and its not even that popualted
It's a great game till lvl 30 then it really gets boring !!!!!!!!!!!!
No
I dunno, I'm a pretty big nerd..Star Trek fan, comic book fan, MMO player and poster on forums....I don't play LOTRO, hehe

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
One thing to remember though - like all other MMOs if you play too much it will soon become boring. So my advice is to enjoy this beauteful game 3-4 hours a day then do something else and you'll find out its true value.
I agree with Belleal here. Play any game too much and it will lose its shine. When I first played the open beta for LOTRO it didn't grab me at all, and I quit after the first few hours. I dunno what Turbine did in between beta and live, but I find it really hard to stop playing at the moment. But then I'm a style-over-substance and a detail kind of person, and LOTRO is crammed with both. For me at least.
It's the same in life. What do you do when you reach 60 except retire and wait for death?

Young minds want to grow, older minds want to remain.Well, i didnt follow the game much. But didnt Turbine tell that this game has intentionally no endgame ?
I dont know how long it will last, but for now i really enjoy the game.
