Now if only I could get them to play a new Amarr character.  Really disappointed that the upcoming Amarr Paladin is based on the Apocalypse that no one flies now that the Abaddon has totally outclassed it.  Still, I do know that their playing of the game is why it does work as well overall as it does, and I like that fact.

Hmm, an EVE related announcement by another game developer.......

Like poker or something or in-world mini-games like 'Make the Kessel run in under 2mins'?

uh, it seems to be a web-based EVE game or that allows you to play EVE from the webwars. I'd rather prefer that if they have licensed havok engine they use it to create a EVE mmorpg with characters no spaceships. It'd be a good idea.

It is a question of fangs.

The devs playing has shown itself to be a two-edged sword, considering the controversies over the last year.

I suspect that it may be a simple browser-based game (like Pardus?) that follows the style of Eve. But I will be at the fanfest, so will be the first to know!  :)

I would not say 90%. I would say 50% would be more accurate.

A perfect example is in this thread where a dev used an alt to ask questions after the 100 page thread where people were screaming at the devs for the latest changes.

    FACTS:

    1. CCP had already dedicated programmer time to put the plan in motion. They tipped their hand when their thread with a noob alt (that was actually a developer), was asking 'What do you use your capital ships for?'

    2. Said changes were observed LIVE on SiSi less than 24 hours after that dev blog was released. In the Lawyer world, that's called INTENT.

    3. After Zulupark was torn to shreds by the 110+ Page thread, they further wanted to gather information about capitals, and created a noob alt to start a different thread asking questions to answers that they should already know. This is once again CCP trying to force their vision of the game onto the players, and going against what the players have trained for already. The stupidity of them in this regard is just simply nothing short of staggering.

Now that the hornets nest has been stirred up to sufficient capacity so the bulk of the players that never post (the real EVE playerbase, not the SWG and WoW converts), or read the forums infrequently, know about it, and have rightfully voiced their concerns. Hopefully our collective voices (and wallets) have been heard, and they will do the right thing!

So 3rd party company is going to do some talking for CCP? This should be good.

Incorrect, changing the stats of ships does not require any programmer input, it's merely changing values in a database. Nothing that they did on the test server required any programmer input what so ever.

As I said before on of the devs changed the stats on the test server to play around with them and get some player feedback, and feedback they got.

CCP has always ignored player whining if they thought it was for the good of the games balance, IMO they have yet to go wrong with their balance changes.

A player is a player is a player. It doesn't matter what game they came from. If they pay a sub they are entitled to their opinion.

No, a 3rd party, which from what I've read recently is owned by an EVE player, is going to be working on an eve-themed mini-game that could possibly be played from within the eve client.
