DAoC old. Is it still worth it for a new player?

I know DAoC has been around for awhile, but it appears to be running strong. I've never played before, but I loved UO before it got rediculous and DAoC seems to be a bit similar. Do you think it is worth getting involved this late in the game or do you think it's way past prime? I appreciate any input.

I'd say give the free trial a go and see if you like it. Be sure to play on US servers and your best bet is on the classic server clusters. (most people playing atm)
I really enjoyed my time in DAOC, and I'd still be playing if their FFA PVP server (Mordred) still had any life to it. (it doesn't). But for the normal player (those w/o a death wish) the other servers are great fun.

Mordred was an excellent server...aside from the whole getting jacked while riding my horse across the bridge thing...that is if I could even get out of the city. But was great fun.
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
Its a fun game still. The free trial will give you a very good taste of what you will get with DAOC. Stick with the battlegrounds for the best experiences.

Try the trial like the suggest each realm offers something for all players and if your into different themes frm elfs to vikings to knights. Also they made the game much more user friendly I used to played back when the game was new and fresh and quit shortly after ToA but leveling than was a chore i disliked and hated and turned me off that is gone now and its very simple to level (I got a champion to 32 in just a weekend) so if your looking for the best meaningful pvp out there DAoC is your game plus the castle sieges are a blast.
I was away from DAoC for abotu 5 years jumping from SWG to WoW and now i have returned!
Honestly, the changes to the New Frontier and the content are really good. On the Classic servers in the old wolrds of SI and Albion proper there is 200% XP gains. I have already leveled an Infiltrator to 50 which took about 2 full days of play.
The RvR is still the biggest playing point for this game. With the New Frontier it is more engauging and no more zoned loading once you get into the frotier lands. Sieging a tower, keep, relic keep is a lot mroe fun with the newer Rams, Wall Towers, and Trebeughe's. The walls actually bread down instead of beign static which is pimp.
I did the trial and then re-uped for the game. Great to play and a fun time.
hes right its very easy to level now i got my champion to 40 recently and that was my old personal best which took me a year ( im still in law school here) and with my busy work ethic i still managed to get a lvl 40 champion in less than a week and enjoy what i loved most about this game the RvR.
I must say that this game can still be fun...
I went back a few months ago and got 2 lvl 50 characters within 2-3 months. Leveling is faster and the RvR is a lil more relaxed but it is still really fun. Playing all night trying to capture enough keeps to go for a relic is always fun and intense.
Play on the classic servers and try it out.
