Now, now, you are talking about GW, we're talking about it may be different in GW2, a least that is how I read it. The Dev Corner on the PlayNC site says
Allow players to encounter each other in common, persistent areas. The instancing of Guild Wars gave us a ton of story-telling and gameplay advantages over our competitors, but instanced areas and persistent areas each have their strengths and weaknesses. We want to give players the best of both worlds.

To me that says there may be less instancing.
From what Jeff strain said in his interview, so far they are looking at making the game 90% persistant, but have the storyline missions instanced to allow people to do them over and over again... Kind of like Dungeons in other MMO's, but with a storyline purpose to them
player houses would be cool...but an "order pizza in real life" button would be better
Games Played: Guild Wars, Runescape, World of Warcraft, RF online, Silkroad online, Knight online, Lord of the Rings online. what a rip, i got a warning for having a link on this signiture....>:( Games Waiting for: Gods and Heroes, Aion, Chronicles of Spellborn
The only advantage i could think of a "player house" would be that there is an open shop or something. This one of the few downfalls Gw's has on the game. It would be nice to have an auction house in Gw2. I was also thinking that having a "guild house" would be cool. It would be awsome to have like a titles room and other things you can show off from what you and the other guildies have collected.

Not that I'm aware off, but I sure do hope so.
Playing now: Cities: Skyline / Ori and the Blind Forest / Banished
what do you mean by houses?
if you mean like a real house, i doubt it, but the hall of monuments will be something similar for the grandchildren of our current characters
it probably does, dunno y ur so concerned about it though :S
There isn't any news at all about this - they aren't prepared to release any details on game features like this.
_______
"Friends may come and go, but enemies accumulate"
Looking forward to: Aion
Played: WoW, Guild Wars
Though it would be kind of nice to enter some kind of house and then there are smaller rooms in it that players could rent.
I mean, Go out one sunday morning and say hello to your neigbour, that would be kind of cool;)
Sounds good, but I think it would be a tall order to fill.
