Isn't this game awesome, I mean, its awesome for MANY reasons (ok, maybe like 3):

1.) Graphics are better than Wow's

2.) Its free, yes I said FREE

3.) Its awesome

4.) You can expand it if you want to

5.) Price is very decent

6.) PVP is the best for GW, I don't think even Warhammer will have better PVP

7.) Community is awesome, nobody whispers to you for money (noobs)

Tell me if you guys agree with this, or if you have anything to add, also, tell me the cons you think of this game

Wether theyre better or worse I'd leave to everyones personal opinion. But yes, they are awsome
2.) Its free, yes I said FREE
Free at last, free at last... ;)
    3.) Its awesome
Yup, story, gameplay and innovation put to a good use = pure awsomness
4.) You can expand it if you want to
For a fee, but hell - it's worth it!
    5.) Price is very decent
You don't feel cheated after you purchase the box so I gues you're right...
6.) PVP is the best for GW, I don't think even Warhammer will have better PVP
PvP is indeed awsome, but wether it's better or worse then Warhammers we will know after WAR comes out, not sooner ;)
7.) Community is awesome, nobody whispers to you for money (noobs)
Errr... Yea... not realy... "beagrs" are there, trust me :P

I mostely agree with you. The things I love the most about GW is, as mentoined before, the story combined with great gameplay (reminds me kinda of a Traiding Card Game, where everyone has the same set of cards [skills] but only the best combinations win) and the classes witch are mostely innovated and "never seen before".

I agree more or less with the rest, but stating that the community is awesome is well... not true. Due to the fact that the game is free it attracts lots of people which aren't very mature and doesn't really know how to behave nicely. Especially in RA and in various PuGs this can be seen. But the bigger part of the community is nice, it's just that around 15-20% are total asses.

I totally agree on all point but one! The PvP point.

I mean c´mon, Yeah the games is great and all that, But the pvp only concentrates on team PvP, What happend with 1 on 1? I mean some people really want to test the skills against eachother, but GW do not offer that. Which, in my oppinion, is something I really miss in that game. (Look at EvE instead, Open pvp, HELL YAA!!)

but if you exclude that. The game is a total "knock-out":)

but the game wouldn't work with 1 vs 1, theres always one class that can beat another...

simple fact, its a team based game, if you don't like team based games, guild wars isn't the pvp game for you, simple fact

You can 1 v 1 in two different ways:

    1) Actually 1v1 - Annouce in Guild or Alliance chat, " who wants to 1v1?" Wait for a response.  Once a positive response is given ask the to come to the guild hall.  Click Guild Battle. Set up guild fight with just you.  Person you are fighting clicks on your battle and voila 1v1.

    2) Hero Battle - Your 4 vs Their 4.  It is only you and another person, your builds versus their builds.

    So technicaly you can 1v1.

I might come back and edit the 1v1 to give the actual procedure.

I'll will say that the graphics are on par with WoW.
2.) Its free, yes I said FREE
Ah, you've hit on one of the most important aspects of Guild Wars.  Free is great.
    3.) Its awesome
That's kind of an all-encompassing statement - but I have to agree, the game IS awesome.
4.) You can expand it if you want to
Not only can you expand it (GW:EN), but you can buy a stand alone chapter that most interests you.
    5.) Price is very decent
It sure it.  I pay twice as much for an XBox 360 game and generally get about 1/100 of the use out of it.
6.) PVP is the best for GW, I don't think even Warhammer will have better PVP
Depends on your style of play.
7.) Community is awesome, nobody whispers to you for money (noobs)
Well, you'll get the beggars from time to time - especially new members to your guild.

Not sure i know what you mean by overpowered Most of my builds eat mesmers for lunch.

That's indeed one thing I'd like to see more often in MMOs, the fact that you're not outright screwed up (especially in PvP) if you don't own every single boxed release of a franchise.

...but stating that the community is awesome is well... not true. Due to the fact that the game is free it attracts lots of people which aren't very mature and doesn't really know how to behave nicely. Especially in RA and in various PuGs this can be seen.

The anti-leeching patch and the new /report features are shaping the community up quite nicely.  I don't see as many racist, vulgar, obscene or misogynistic names anymore, and spamming has been reduced quite a bit, too.

However, a couple of us more mature players did report a user who was "Jew-baiting" (trolling with patently anti-semitic remarks) the other night.  The report feature covers spamming and verbal abuse (as though anyone can be verbally abused in text chat), but has nothing to cover racist, sexist or anti-semitic remarks.  Hoepfully, such a feature will be added.

As for the person we reported, hopefully they were given a "time-out."

Yep, the report feature is nice and does a really good job to fix the community problem. But I would still claim that GW has problems with it's community. As I said it's a good community, but calling it awesome is going too far.

I have been fortunate enough not to have met many idiots on the game (crosses fingers).

Stay out of RA, at least it used to have around 50% idiots, 25% afk guys, and the other 25% were nice guys. But it's "cleaned" up quite a lot. However, in the lower leveled areas it's still quite common. For some reason noobs always get drawn to me too *sadface*.

i agree pvp isnt 100% perfect but u can play pvp 1vs1 though. if both players are in a different guild and 1 of the guilds have a guildhall u can play guild battles 1vs1 its not the best solution but atleast u can play 1vs1 and u can play alliance battles !? no other game has that it owns (sucks my pc is so slow tho =( a well)

Guild Wars is NOT structured for 1v1 PvP...   there is always one profession that can take down another = insta fail

It is and always was made as a team PvP game...   Its called "Guild Wars" afterall

Yes i cant do anything but agree with that =p pvp is mostly about party or guilds and 1vs1 with 2 different proffessions isnt much fun (like just the other day i took my warrior/monk to a 1vs1 fight against a ranger and i lost badly=p, he crippeld me and i couldnt go anywhere xd ) but  1vs1 against the same proffession can give a challanging and fun battle but i think the huge pvp battles are more fun .

The games not free I paid $60 for it, its just that the other games rob you so bad it kinda makes you feel like its free even though you paid for it. I agree with everything else. More games like this need to be made.

The game is decent, yes. It's not really for any long-term play, but to bring out every now and then is nice. The community is the worst I've ever seen in a game, though, and that makes me not enjoy it, almost as much as how boring it gets being in an instanced area 90% of the time. I went to this PvP area when I first started the game and didn't know how to get out via the map at the time, so I asked around... the only responses I got were sarcastic, Alt-F4, noob, etc., and not a single person actually helped me out. Eventually I figured it out on my own.

The best part of the game is the cutscenes and storyline, but I can never keep interest long enough to push through all the missions for any campaign.
