cannot connect to server? (as of 10/04/07) 1:09pm

Confused. I just downloaded the client, created my account and everything. But whenever I login and choose the server(oracle is the only choice, btw it has only dash marks by the status but not sure...) it puts me in some cue of 40 seconds, 1,2,3,5, and then says I could not connect to the server. Is something wrong on my part or is it the game?(aka server being down at the moment?)

That's how the server behaved when it was down before the CB started - so I'd think it was down when you tried, or there's a player limit.

Thanks man. but there is no notice saying its down though..kinda why I am confused.
EDIT: Wow! Just got in and am creating my character. Ok I guess the servers were down! thanks guys, If you want to delete this post you may...=)

Ahg! its so wierd! my roommate downloaded this game and he can log in at any time and when he double clicks on the oracle server before login it shows ping and says "Good". Whenever I try on my comp(2 feet away from his), my server list shows oracle as ---- and ---- for ping and status and I just cannot log in! so I know its not them, its me. I can log my own account in fine on his comp. Any ideas?

Check your windows firewall settings and make sure PW is on the "Allowed" list. If not put it there. Sounds like your firewall is blocking PW from communicating with the server.
Iwe just tried and put the PW on exeptions on my windows firewall but its same --- and --- for ping and status o0 cant log in....some1 pls help :]]

I actually just tried allowing it in my firewall as well...no change..hmm

There is a lot of help here for common connection problems. Check it out as it's helped many with similar problems to yours.

I can now log in flawlessly w/o any problems but I had to change some settings for my IP. Here's exactly what you do
.
1.Navigate your way to C:/windows/system32/etc/drivers/etc/
2.You should see a file called "Hosts". Right click it and select, Open with Notepad.
3.At the very end of the notepad document, copy and paste "202.75.52.203 goin.perfectworld.com.my" on a new line.
4.Save the file and you should be able to connect with no problems.

I downloaded the game today and had the exact same problem. I did exactly what you said and it worked. thanks man!
I'm having problems connecting as well, is the server down and if so, why?
The current beta is over, so the server is down. Open Beta starts anywhere from late next week to who knows when they get it fixed how they like.

Good grief, They HOPE to get it out by the end of the month? Delay delay delay, These guys are pulling a Duke Nukem Forever on us. "It'll be out shortly before the apocalypse" pretty much. I didn't waste a gig and a half of my hard drive for this game so it could sit and gather dust.

24th Oct Update:
Thank you for your patience and continued support of the game. As Devil had posted, the game did not enter Open Beta on the 19th October because it was decided that the lag/disconnect issues faced by many international players needed to be addressed.
We expect the latest patch from China to arrive on Friday the 26th of October, it will be extensively tested on Monday the 29th of October and we hope to release the patch at the end of that day IF no major bugs are found and the patch is determined to be stable. Our target is to begin Open Beta before the end of the month.
Wont let me save the file, comes up with some sort of error.
well, they have 17 hours till the end of the month now..do you really think there telling the truth
