I bought at EA store and tried to download but I guess being in the open beta it saw I had the software or something. I used the website to put in my code to register the purchase onto my account and it did two things:
1. Said activation is not possible.
2. Put on my account that a key was associated with it.
So I wonder if I am in limbo at this point being it doesn't let us play with the servers down. Makes me a bit concerned.

That sucks, man. I, at least, got to associate my CE key with my account.
Just a sad statement for a great game. I was going to subscribe, but at this point, it's like throwing money away. I'll give it a few months before I do.

Well its a live launch. Almost every launch is a huge nightmare, WoW included. The only launch that is relatively seamless that I ever seen was Lotro.
It'll be a different story if this is a regular occurance, or happens months from now. Anyone that *really* expected a flawless experience today needs to learn from this heh.
What's the old mantra? "Don't play on patch day" Applies to launch day as well.
Meh, so they are having some difficulties. It happens with almost every game launch, including the infamous powerhouse that is WoW. It happens. I understand that the game is one leaning toward the "apocolyptic" side of things, but everyone crying that it is the end of the world anytime there is the slightest error, now at launch and back in Beta... it is getting old. People should really just calm down a bit, and understand that it happens. It is not the end of the world. I promise.
As for Melanoma tho, I have seen you posting in a few threads in the past few moments as I am sitting here waiting for information to come up about the games progress. Quite honestly, you have little to nothing possitive to say, and have done nothing but whine and talk about it being the end of the world. If this is truly impacting you THAT deeply, you really should not only not play the game, but take some time away from your computer. Maybe get some fresh air? Go see a movie? (Or a therapist?) Whatever you decide to do, maybe stop complaining incessantly? Thanks.
Relax guys, it's no big deal. These guys will get it figured out, this is their first game after all, usually they just design em. Most games have awful launches anyway.

Please! Save your breath for your inflatable date.
Apparently, they are opening up event content. Doesn't explain the Web site outage though, only the game servers.
If things were taking them by surprise, they will have a hard time explaining it, maybe the issue hit their web as well, given that the current day design puts a common database behind the game and the web.
Launch day is a bad day. We all have been that many times. I have finally placed an order, but I am not going to pick it up yet. I will wait for a few more days before I install it.

Not just you. Me too. The webpage is even down. Check it out.

it"s not you. Pathetic, IMHO.

Quit your whining. You'll get your fix soon enough...

they are patching the servers so everyone can participate in the halloween event.
It's 9:15 EST. Little late, huh?
I don't think they anticipated they're subscription stuff to die on them. Since no subs being created, decided to let everyone in the event.
Well if they could at least keep their website up to tell everyone they exist.....
It's a little strange on opening night to have the game and the website just gone.
They posted in in the news section before it went down. Granted it was only a 10 minute or so warning.

There is still a long way to go.
Ok, granted. But it's Halloween, this is what they live for.
Why exactly are the servers down then?
Could get a 404 if they lost their connection or just powered off!
um, did you read any replies?
We're all excited, just chill out.

Going from a thread about the server being down to inflatable dates? Wow
I wanna clarify something:
What means of PvP is available to non-subscribers?
