Like alot of people who can't find a buddy pass, I would love to get a look at this game created by the person's who made my favorite game EQ. Anyone have any ideas on when everyone can try it? If any of you have a buddy pass my email address is mokfarg@gmail.com. I had to try ...

i would try ebay, they have alot of upopened copies selling for 1-10 dollars, if not you can always bite the bullet and buy the game

Friend, save yourself alot of grief and dissapointment and just play EQ2. I was in VG beta and played until Sigil went under and SoE scooped up this disaster. The game is just broken, if you don't wanna take my word for it just read from others. Again, I am not trying to hate, just sayinng I played this game, even bought a new computer and video card and ram and still looks like a slide show..and a ugly one at that.

So this part where you state "if you don't wanna take my word for it just read from others" I just don't get it you have quite a few threads that actually are positive towards Vanguard so that would mean that what you refer to and would prove your point actually does the opposite.

I will agree that the game was ugly in beta/and at launch.. some good things but overall there were way too many problems. But I have recently got back into the game and its quite fun to play on both my 34 warrior and started a new character (ranger) to see how changes were at lower lvs and its been a blast so far (lv24 atm).
Can't guarantee you will like the game, but as an mmoer that has played everything since kind of leaving eq (still have account), this feels the most like that to me.. still way different, but it has alot of what i was looking for. And hopefully with patches will continue to get better and better.
And hopefully they will push out trial island soon.. because the game has come a ways since launch and deserves to be tried out.. but at the same time after the launch paying to try it is kind of asking alot.

Not broken anymore, maybe you are the one who should read what others are saying... not perfect, but not broken.
You may not by trying to hate, but you do a great job of it with every post I've seen you make about this game.
It probably doesn't look like a slide show anymore, you say 'still looks like a slide show', but if you stopped playing at the SOE acquisition, how exactly would you know? I guess depends on what vid card and how much ram you added, and it still begs the question, what is your cpu?
I do agree, that if you think EQ2 is the greatest mmo on the market, you probably won't like Vanguard. As I think Vanguard is the greatest mmo on the market, I also find EQ2 to be the biggest waste of a sequal I've ever seen, and I've seen Star Wars I - III.

Hmm... it's been 6 months since I've even looked at VG or these forums. It was unplayable in beta.
And there STILL is no trial for this game? When is a trial supposed to be released? Cause to me,
vg-beta-equation: "no trial" = "still an unplayable piece of crap".
I mean, the art looked great, story, world-size made my mouth water. I'm just suprised they haven't been able to come out with a trial yet is all... to disprove the vg-beta-equation...
SOE has to clean up the complete game before trial release. Otherwise it would be bait and switch. I hear that update 3 was a huge step forward for performance, so a trial should be getting closer. I doubt it'll be available before the holidays though, which is a shame for VG.
I played when the game was first released.....thought it wasnt that great.....but still...lvld to around mid 20's. I waited several months...(not long after sony started picking up the peices....don't get me wrong..im still burned from sony becuase of swg)...started playing again....and...well...i really like the game....lvld up to 50.....trying my hand at crafting/harvesting (ive played just about every mmo since eq1..and this is the only game to which i have even attepmted to craft/harvest)...being on the PVP server...can be harsh at times...but...all in all...it really does feed the old mmo need...sorta like eq1 did....also...the community is really good..(besides the pvp griefers..but other servers are available if pvp isnt ur cup of tea)...doesnt seem to have such a kiddyfest they wa wow did at times....enyways...thats my two cents.
