Been a few years And missing this game miss RVR How long has the clasic servers Been up and Are there Enough to group with ?

I bought this game 5 months ago installed and played out my free month so by no means am I an expert but this was my experience.
The population was very small on the classic servers I would level for hours at a time with out seeing another person. Having no experience it was impossible to get any questions answered and I had a bit of a hard time figuring everything out myself. When I asked question most often I got negatively toned reply making me feel most unwelcome. The game itself is fun, but the community feels lacking.
This is not a personal attack on anyone so please no flaming but it has the feel of an elite group of player not all that interested in people joining, or at least not in helping new people get to a level where they can be effective in the RvR pvp.
Just the opinion of a noob that coudn't get into the game, maybe having already played you could find it enjoyable

The classic servers have been around for a couple of years. All of the classic servres are clustered together meaning that they essentially have merged all of the zones. The only areas not shared between all of the servers is housing. You can TP to the other servers housing if you want. The population for the cluster runs around 2500 during peak times. It is around 1000 or so at the early morning hours.
You should have no problem seeing people around. The advice system has been changed to an advice channel so you can ask questions to anyone in the realm. There is also a lfg and trade channel.
If you go classic, understand it is not really classic - just without ToA and a couple other changes. Also, if you want to own a house, do not play on Gareth. Pick the least populated server so that you can afford a house. It does not affect your game play at all since all of the zones are merged.
Thought I made my issues pretty clear and his question was the state of the classic servers and would he be able to group. Could have swore I answered both by saying I was unable to and the population seemed low to me. Did you even take the time to read my post all the way through, or just decide to make a sarcatsic comment because I have a different opinion about the game then you obviously do?
I had the same thing happen to me, tried the trial about 2 years ago wasnt very noob friendly but to be honest couldnt find anyone half the time... Down to what server i picked looking back on it.
I never had problems like described. Haven't played a newb character in about 10 months though, so it may have changed.
If I had never tried DAOC, I would probably try it now and TBH, probably wouldn't play it very long unless I made some friends quickly.

You did not state how long they had been up. At the time of your unedited post you did not specifiy what server/cluster/realm you played. Nor do you say what time of day you played. All of these are relevant. Now that you edited it, you say they are the classic servers. You are almost the only person to say that the classic servers seem barren so when you did not previously state that it would be easy to think you are not playing the classic servers. If you played before all of the PvE areas were merged and you started on a low-pop Classic server then of course you would not see anyone. You you need to TP to Gareth. Now that all of the PvE zones are merged, this is no longer a problem.
Given that at prime time there are 2500 or so players, it seems unlikely you do not see anyone. Whether or not they were your level or people grouped with you is another issue. So either the information you gave is out of date because of changes in the games and based on the time/realm/server you are on, or just wrong.
There may or may not be lots of people trying to level up at low levels at a given time, but there certainly are lots of people around. The best thing for the OP is to do the trial to see for himself.

I edited a mispelled word, not the content of my post, next time quote it and you won't be able to make these claims. As I stated in my post I tried this game 5 MONTHS AGO therefore how could I answer how long the servers were up. Thank you for another hostile post for no reason other than to be hostile. NOT EVERYONE IS GONNA LIKE THE GAME YOU LIKE. Deal with that fact please as it seems that people have had the same experience I have., but as to your other concerns with how my post was lacking,
I played in the evening during what most MMO games describe as peak times, when I played I can tell you if there were 2500 players on everyone was level capped and no where near where I was leveling. Did these so called changed of the game happen in th elast five months?The information I gave was my opinions of the game, OPINIONS can not be wrong, you can disagree but to call it wrong is closed minded. To the OP, yes please try the trial then come back here and post about your experiences and how you agree with everything I told , taking as a classic example how this elitist jack ass has flamed me simpy because I did not post about how great his beloved game is.

I have recently returned myself about 2months now, still have some fun with it definatly not like the hey day but not to bad.

There are many things to not like about the game. But to claim that there is a hardly any population of the classic cluster is just a false statement. There is a difference between saying "I played game X and it sucked for these reasons" and making a false statement about the game.
In any case you have to wonder about someone who is bitter enough to go to message boards of games he does not play, take offense for someone correcting his false information (number of people on a server is not opinion, but fact. maybe you should look up the difference sometime, you know when you are not trolling forums), and then start pointless crap on a forum for a game he has not played in 5 months (assuming he ever did).
Play it or not, at this point I just hope to show Warden the difference between being flammed and not since he couldn't seem to tell the difference.
Explain to me where I ever said the game was bad I played it for a month so it could not have been horrible all I did was point out the negative aspects of the game, can you honestly tell the OP that as he levels groups will be easy to find?
I am not trolling I responded to posts attacking me. I came in an stated an opinion sorry but not my definition of being a troll, and then when I responded to the first post being negative towards me I was accused of editing my post to make the aggresor look bad. So responding to posts directed towards me is now trolling got it, thank you for the clearing that up for me.

I premised my original post with the fact that I had little experience, but you still chose to attack me instead of just answering the question posed.

To the OP.
I don't know what that guy is talking about but I came back to the game a few months ago and was able to find a lot of people playing on the Classic Servers. I got into a guild and there was always around 30-40 people on in the guild alone. When my character was still in the Noobie guild that you start in there was a few dozen people in that guild as well.
Leveling is extremely fast now as well. You will want to take some breaks at the top of each of the populated BGs to earn some RPs. The level 20ish one is always a good one. I forget what the top level for that one is. I have my character at level 47ish currently and play as a Druid.
The game is no where near as populated as it was in its peak but it definitely has enough people to play with on the classic servers.

Look at www.camelotherald.com at prime time and it lists the populations. Just check the Bossiney classic cluster and you will see around that 2500 number. At least that is what I saw for population a few weeks ago when I last played before I went on Vacation.
Right now it is the middle of the day on a Friday and there are 1221 people logged onto Bossiney, so 2500 at peak time is pretty likely.

Never let it be said I cannot admit when I am wrong, I downloaded the trial and am currently playing a Albion Pally that I have gotten to level 26. Everything I said previously is outdated information it would seem, either that or the problems I described were Midgard only, my original characters being an Valkyn Bonedancer on Gareth. I have already found a guild and all the problems I had concerning being unable to get help/advice seem to be unfounded. So I apologize to the O.P. for the faulty information, and to the others posters to the thread for the ensuing arguement.
I guess a game really can change in only a short span of time, I am playing on the classic server Ector, and my toons name is Borensan if any ever feels like grouping. Again sorry and I was wrong!
The game is dead. Don't even bother. It can be fun for a week or two but I would wait for WAR to come out as that is what Mythic is concentrating on improving. There are just not many people left and they are split up among three realms with most people being level 50.
95% of the game world is deserted because task dungeon have made it all obsolete. There are a few places people still go to but mainly to power level alts / guild members. RVR is not what it used to be. Majority of battles happen in Labyrinth where groups of people run around in a circle in the center of Lab until they encounter another group of people that are running around in a circle in the center of Lab then they fight and the ones that lose re-spawn, group up again, and go back to running around in a circle.
BGs are still empty. Everybody flocks to 1-2 of them while the rest are deserted. Once in a while a few people might show up but it usually doesn't last long because they get bored of having nobody to play with and just leave.
The community has completely degraded. There is no "Albion" or "Midguard" or any sense of belonging to a team. All that's left now is elitist idiots running around. When they're not busy stroking their epeen in game they come on the forums to flame anyone who says anything bad about the game.
Mordered is dead... again.. from a lack of players....
If you already have the expansions and what not it can be fun for a month to dick around in as a distraction from your main mmo or game. But don't expect it to draw you in deep. Mythic has made some great improvements but they have come far too late. They finally got their shit together when everybody left. It's an old game and it's too late to save it now, just let it die in peace.
