Weeeell, obviously! The reason I posted this is out of frustration. This is the #1 game I have been waiting for for a very long time now! And ofc I get a little mad when they say 100% that the game will be released at the start of 08 and then once again push it back.

Not that I didn't expect it, but I don't think they should have been so sure themselves

Very interesting. I understand the frustration, but it must have been really hard for them to decide to delay the game. Honestly, I think they could have pushed the game out in early 2008, but it just would not have been good enough.

Better to eat your words, swallow your pride and produce a quality game.

Indeed.

And they never said w/ 100% certainty that the game would be out in Q1 2008. That was the TARGET release date, it was never set in stone and anyone that has been following production closely knew this was coming. It was easy to see b/c of all the revamps and changes they were making, that and the fact that 1/3 of the games races and racial areas weren't in game yet.

I hear ya man. We all want to play WAR and any little delay sucks. I'm a DAoC vet from way back and have been waiting for it's successor for a very long time and WAR is it.It's so close I can almost taste it. But what would you rather have? A rushed, incomplete waste of a game. Or, a well thought-out, highly polished, RvR MMO set in the kick-arse world of Warhammer?

This game better be worth the wait and frustration I was made to go through. I cant say how bad I felt knowing this game was delayed time and time again.

I think MMOs should be pushed back instead of shipping early. I think LOTRO would have been a much bettergame if they had pushed it back about 6 months.

I do think that sometimes the visionary gets in the way of games.

I wished I was in beta, but I just am not lucky enough.

Yes that is what MUST be done if the game is gonna get somewhere. SOE and most others doesn't do this and just ships away. Leaving a unfinished product that fans hates to love.

This leaves a bad reputation for the companies and that ain't good. A good reputation is really important. It is everything really. And Mythic seem to be on a good way of getting one.

It was just this instance where the news could not be more sad because I think it's not only me who reeeeally wanted this game to come out at the beginning of 08

Honestly?

While my heart aches for iWar to come out now, bugs and all.. My head tells me they need to wait till its so polished it glows in the sun..

For good or for ill WoW has influenced MMOs, a good launch is nesicarry if the game is to be successful.

And WoW had its issues at launch, but most of those were due to not enough servers and to many people on the existing servers.

And while, no matter how good the game is, some people will complain War is still in beta upon release, most people will base thier opinion of the game off the critics and those who bought the game right away.

And Jeff better shine that sucker good, otherwise Paul will be doing bad things to his corpse.

They're smart enough to realize that Age of Conan was also releasing in Q1. The only thing that would have helped WAR our was if they could have released earlier. They chose to release in a later quarter instead and work on polishing it more.

Smart move instead of trying to go head to head with AoC.
