Indiana Jones MMo?

Just curious if this has crossed anyones mind as to the Bioware/LA project.

Indiana Jones is coming out with the new movie with possible progression of more movies with Lebouf  playing Jones Jr. practicly.

I would love to see this kind of MMo, or at least see a great game come out of it over the normal movie game which typically blows.

No. They won't. It really would be a better move for them in general to go with the star wars mmo. There is a big demand for it.

Is there? I mean there isn't any real call for it. SWG exists. Yeah KoToR is a great time period and I love the books and the games based around the era, but there is nothing really in the cards to say that it could possibly be a Star Wars title over any other LA idea.

I just think the upcoming movie may fuel the need for such and idea for following movies as well. Maybe not, but I couldn't find anything that would suggest a SW one at all beyond all the guys who love SW and felt betrayed by the 2 changes in SWG (Lucas is still milkin SWG so I doubt he cares much as long as his license is being payed).

What classes would an Indiana Jones MMO have?

Currently Playing: Nothing (waitinf for WAR)
Retired: AC2, EVE, DAoC, EQ, WoW

nope, indiana jones plays better as a single player action game. It wouldn't even play as a good single player RPG. KOTOR on the other hand is an excelent RPG, all it needs is to attach the MMO to the beginning of it.

I agree with this.  Indiana Jones is more of an adventure progressive game.  I don't even know how you would handle having stats or new abilities even if there were only 1 class (kickass Archeologist).  Would you level up your plundering abilities, or at level 10, you learn to use a whip.  Plues KOTOR just sounds way cooler, I like Star Wars and Indiana Jones probably equally but would much rather see a good SCI-FI  futuristic mmo.

Theres more than enough "call" for it. SWG is old and dated and dying. People still want pre-cu back. People don't want to go back to SoE due to bad things they did, but they want a Star wars mmo. I couldn't think of a better time for bioware to make it.

But who knows really... I just hope they spill the beans soon so i can either move on... or.. be extremely excited.

Wow i agree with this, people would love an indiana jones MMO. Bioware announced not to expect another KOTOR game from them back in 2006, so team with LA, this could be highly possible. I never though of this but indiana jones has a massive fan-base, and the star wars mmo IP already used, this is very likely.

Yeah and they also said they'd NEVER work again with LA too, right? Besides... they said don't expect a KOTOR 3... they didn't say don't expect a KOTOR MMO

Since when did they wouldn't work with LA..? Don't make things up.

As if all the other indian jones games they did in the past didn't Totally suck...anyone remember that PC game from a while back? NO!? Because it was total rubbish.  There's not enough variety and a huge world to go with.  I mean not everyone can be Indy and not everyone wants to play a Nazi.  And who the hell wants to be the bumbling side kick?!

Indy is a great movie ... but not translatable to a MMO game.   If I had a choice between their mmo being on Indy MMO or a KOTOR..... i'd vote KOTOR (which i still hold my belief they are not doing a kotor mmo).

I don't think that Indiana Jones would be that great for a MMO. The main reason people think of this is because there's a new movie coming out. There's a Clone Wars series coming out in 08. They already have 40 episodes finished then there's the live action tv series coming out in 09.

I don't claim to be right, I'm just posting.

I agree, there would be massive jungles, deserts, cities, no MMO has been set in the early 1900's, Theres so much you could do with it, go searching for great treasures beneath waterfalls, exploreing for tombs, it will definitely be a game for a mature audience, which is a good thing (It won't appeal to the younger audience)

    I can't wait.

Well you might get used to waiting Smedley because this isn't Indiana Jones Online...  SWG is toast.

Search around the forums, someone posted the link that shows where Bioware said they weren't going to work with LA because of all the trouble LA gave them when they were working on the first one. If you don't want to, or expect me to give the link then good luck, it's 6:30 pm here and I have other important things to do than argue something that has already been stated. Dream all you want for an Indy MMO but it'll never happen. Indy makes for great single player action games, but not a good MMO

Guess Bioware had a change of heart.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
