I've got a question. I've noticed that the demo had/has a huge memory leak, but I assumed they would fix it in the official version. Well I was wrong and it's not strange to see numbers above 1.2GB memory usage just from HG:L. I'm running on xp, DX9 mode, in high, with decent fps.
So I thought, lets visit the forums, to see what the DEV's say about it, or perhaps they haven't even noticed it, but to my surprise, I wasn't allowed to log in on the official American forums because of purchasing the European version. And the Europe website does not have a forum and only refers to the US page.
But ok, I'm used to Europeans being lesser creatures in the eyes of Americans, even though currently the entire world seems to think different, in fact, you originally WERE bloody Europeans, but this pretty much hits rock bottom. Not even in WoW have I seen this much preposterous blatant ignoring of an entire population.
But without the ranting, I'd like to ask for information about the memory leak, a possible European forum, or a fix to allow Euro players on the US forums.
If anyone knows anything, please share, because after 5 hours of play, it's starting to eat my memory to the point that it locks down.

What I found so far is, that you can use the same key to make both an EU AND a US account. So you can make two seperate accounts in both regions with the same key. And then you can use the forums with the US account. It has been confirmed that it works. I haven't done this myself, because I am not so sure that making two seperate accounts is how it is SUPPOSED to work. I fear that this is not how it was intended to work, and I might screw up my key later on by doing it.
No official confirmation about this issue yet. The forums are a bit odd. No feedback or confirmation on anything by the devs or publisher, no matter what issues. Just the occasional News Announcement and that's the only official stuff I've seen so far. Communication is poor. The PR department and the CMs (if they have any at all) should be kicked in the butt, to be honest.

Dude...chill out... I am from Europe and i never noticed someone to think i am a lesser creature... Anyway, there is still some stuff to fix up (both on the site and the game) so be a little patient. And be
The memory leak has been a problem since beta. The DX10 version is almost unplayable because of it, and when Flagship was asked about it on the beta forums they blamed it on Vista and directed everyone to the hotfix for Vista. the hotfix didn't help.
As far as European forums go, I think you should organize all of your friends and start a "Email Flagship and ask for them" campaign.
There are quite a few threads on the forums right now about the memory leak. Nearly everyone has it. Same symptoms, the game slowly chugging down and then finally getting a memory low/memory exhausted error and crashing out. I can fortunately keep playing for a few hours at a time until the page file finally grows large enough to consume my partition.
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

Please don't make such rash generalizations about Americans and their feelings towards Europeans. I certainly don't feel that way.
I happen to be offended by that statement, especially since it was prompted by the game not having european forums.

It's not so much about having no European forums, but having no access to forums at all. The info you get on the EU site is meager, and you don't have access to any help, FAQs or forums on the US site, since you need a retail key to make an account there to access all that. Apparently you can use the same retail key to make a US account, but you can't know this if you don't have access to this info about dual accounts in the first place.
Besides, the dual account thing is quite fuzzy. The support section mentions switching servers. I don't want to switch servers. I just want to access the forum.

just had my first memory leak a few seconds ago
lucky me...
I get about 2.5 hours of gameplay before I crash from the memory leak.
How can this still be a problem?
The journey is more important then the outcome

Well, the fact that people can't say bad stuff about America, based on reality and actuality, is one of the reason why patriotism is bad. But it was only a rant, nothing more, nothing less. Truth remains that alot of American(companies?) people seems to think that Europe is a worthless market and thus not worthy of their attention. Even though they make about .5$ per €1,- profit. Meaning, that your 10 bucks, are worth €5,- here, but we still pay that 10.
In regards to the memory leak, I havnt had problems, and here is why. First if your Nvidia, get the 165.01 driver or higher. the older ones cause lots of problems.
Second, Turn your shader settings down. I dropped it down to medium and much much better. Still wish there was an option to turn down particle effects though >.<
The memory problem is probably the single biggest thread on their forum. It's a memory leak, which affects EVERYONE. Setting texture details down from very high to high does help on it. I've played for 3 hours without a problem... with very high it's about 45-60 minutes.
