I've gotta tell you one incidence in Kruma towel on server Erica.
Me and my buddies of 5 guys were hunting in 2nd floor of kruma towel. I've lost a lot of health due to low M.Def items that I've been carrying at the time - there are a lots of Magic attk mobs on that floor.
So one of our dude decided to go check for more healer in the first floor lounge. While he was gone, 4 "RED" dudes appeared out of no where and asked us to leave. I started to see blood in my vein as other dudes were going through same thing.
So my party's main tanker tried to bring down one of two chaos mages. Guess what? Our tanker got knocked down without even having a chance to land a blow. Now I used my bow (Gastraphetes) but looked like it didn't do anything either... seems like that red guy had high evasion... so the scene was continuing to unfold for while before we realized that my party were all grounded - you know what I mean - death with utter humiliation.
And apparently these guys were doing this from rooms to rooms. Now I gotta tell it was so intense. I was intense outbursting drill (mixture of humiliation, revenge instinct, delirium).
This is how I started to understand L2 is not a mere Game. It is a Religious Fanaticism.
I gotta tell you guys. This is it. I'm hooked.
You are free to commit any act but with a consequence.

I know what you mean... I would be really pissed off if that happened... Why would people do that in a game? Its just abruptly mean and annoying.. I mean.. Only the strong survive...

Its not a "small minority" It's a major issue. When it happens to you, then you'll think it's no longer a small issue. Go to the coal mines or mythril mines on Dwarvian Island or Soda near DE....then tell me it's not a "small limited" amount

You either hate or love this game, that's for sure. It's a niche game for a niche market. Certianly not for everyone.
I, however, am completely hooked, like the original poster. Besides, all 12 expansions for this game will be free! That is quite a bit of content for the investment I'm making.

If Religious fanaticism is never a good thing, what alternatives are there to be as a good thing and to be characterized as religious at the same time?
None-lethal version of Catholicism preaching so called modernized liberal world view leveraging ever wonderful "World Peace" view, crowning their Fuhrer with all kinds of Aura, honour, prestige, wealth and power while millions of other humans in need of the fraction of those wealth are all left behind and are starved and exploited; and all those rich and powerful under-Fuhrers are busy raping young teenage boys behind the altar??
Or all those indifferent atheists thinking that world will be a better place if everything can be reduced to atoms and monkeys, and everything we can enjoy will stay here on this plane of life and need not worry about what comes after???
The point of this post was I learned a lot about the reality of this world while playing Lineage 2 as I came to interact with people with so many different background.
I literally talked to German, Swedish, French, Chinese, American, Finnish, Korean, Japanese, Brasilian, Portugese, Polish, South African, Aussie, Canadian, etc.....
One thing that I found common is that "WE DON'T GET ALONG THAT WELL WITH EACH OTHERS"
When we don't know each other's identity everything seems to recurse, as soon as someone reveal their identity (often occur during PvP, PKing, or KSing), prejudice starts to kick in, and you witness exchange of all kinds of insult.
In one occasion, after serie of gory PK fest, I decided to reveal my identity of Canadian. Subsequently, a certain American Chuck Norris said to me: "Hey Canuk why don't you go back to Canada and play Hockey with the rest of your queers?". Well I didn't have to wait long for a warm hug after all. Did I?
Now, is it only me or does anyone else find themself standing in the same ground?
Why the hell Deutch always hang around with themselves? They are most exclusive bands of Kampfers. Other Kampfers has to be convinced to think otherwise before they submit to their joint. I told them I'm Canadian and if I can join their clan. They said "Are you Deutch?" I said: "why do you care?", and just as I expected, they uttered without slightest hesitation: "Get lost, our clan is only for Deutch".
Polish always go by _PL. Chinese goes by _CN, French goes by _FR, German yes german goes by _DE. They are all same.
Seems like everyone are carrying their real world identity even in games.
So I came to conclusion that all amphibians have equal share of mindless cultural bondage even within games.
People that are not really into all these multicultural context thinggy will have trouble to make reference on 7 virtues of Kampfer when a certain ninja crosses the line and land two deadly blow from behind.
The way I see Lineage 2 is as a simulation of real world.
You have free for all PvP system. And any acts in this game are followed with severe consequence.
Players fight (often termed KSing) with each others over natural ressources (not oil in this case but Mobs) in places like dungeons (Middle East). "World Powers" (mad red chaos clans) struggles with each other over the dominance of these areas. They don't mind KSing (no other term to describe such activity) as long as they gain access to its wealth.
Now, I say War is the ultimate destination of humanity. We are meant to destroy and mass murder each other in order to learn more about more effective way of destroying each others in the next round. That's the ultimate truth.
Believe in War deny Peace.
Any attempt for settlement and peace are futile and pointless.
Don't blame Lineage 2.
It's only simulation and it is damn good at it.

I was actually ironic when I agreed to L2 being a religion. (Too many players DO treat games thay play way to seriously, almost like fanatics)
And about fanatics I was serious, of course. They use religion as means and exuses to terrosize in the far fast, in the present, and will do in the far future.

I voted "neither.. because you can't take others opinions... you shouldn't be in these forums because you cannot take others opinions about the game... IN -B.C. people believed in Greek Gods... everything they did or somebody did they believed the gods did that.. Im not asking you to believe in religion... Religion is a belief in something... (thats what my history teacher taught us in grade 12 :P)
This guy only made this post because Lineage 2 is a emotional game.... It makes you feel like your really dying in unbelievable embarrasment...

Another point... being a nerd is knowing very well in a specific subject... being a nerd isn't a bad thing at all.. unless if you punch nerds everyday of your life..

lineage 1 hookerd me for a long while because of gameplay alone. The graphics were terrible and character's visual custimization was none. But the speed at which it played and the adreneline of the PvP was like a drug. A +9 Tsurugi and -67ac during a Giran seige was 2 hours of RAW adreneline. Fast paced and non-stop.
Taking the +9 tsu with -58ac MR set to DVC 5~6 with over 200 oranges was solo'ing at it's finest.
Lvling an Orc Raider to 36 with a Brig Set and Tarbar in L2 is purely mind-numbing. I understand NC wanted the players to be in parties and clans, but to make the majority of the classes virtually impossible to solo mobs (white/greeen) without having to take a seat 70% of the time is a complete mystery to me. L1 made it fun to group hunt in certain places but left you the option to solo and make a profit and even entertaining at 50+ even. (although way too slow.)
Blah Blah, what I mean to say is that L2 was a dissapointment, it is too slow and takes independence away at higher lvls for most classes. Hopefully beefed up pets can fix that but I haven't started on the Bots and garbage shout topics.

FPS grafics are always the best ...but u need some skills

oh yea, also My Lvl 36 Raider had plenty of skills but trully only the stun was worth-while and the only one I used in combat. @ 30+ mp a pop, you can't even use it that often, add to that the fact that it doesn't hit every time and as of last patch, every time it does stick, there's a good chance that the stun effect will wear off after the 1st hit leaving the unit stunned for a record-breaking 2 seconds

My wife likes it and wantrs to keep playing it (I think mainly cuz it's graphix and she loves crafting) but whenever I log into my account, I rarle stay on it very long (unless I group with my wife, the group hunts are decent, just he solofactor that bugs me to the bone)
