ya i downloaded the game then i unzipped the folder and opened setup and it told me to put in disc 1? can someone tell me if you can still play without buying a disc?

You dont need a disk, you just got a corrupted download. Re download and you will be fine.
However... unless you like pain, and a horrible dev company I really would strongly recommend playing something else.
