I think one of the reasons HGL is doing so well on Xfire is because it is the first game where Xfire has integreated their voice chat into a game.
Comments
While that may be a solid reason it moves up in the future; I don't think it's accurate yet since xfire isn't working with the game yet. The reason is that it's made by the guys who made Diablo, plays like Diablo, thus it will be a popular game (and it's fun).
That is pretty impressive for a brand new game to be in the top 10.
I'm really hoping today's patch fixes a lot of the problems that some people are having. While I haven't encountered anything major, some people can be so critical. I can understand though, considering the huge number of extremely good games that were released recently. Lot of competition.
Actually, quite a few brand new games will hit the top 10. However, it's rare that they will be there for more than a day or two, and usually its only the bottom two or so slots. Hellgate has managed to topple Guild Wars and has nearly driven battlefield 2 down now.
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.
EAT ME MMORPG.com!
Yup, pretty nice to see. Other than the nay sayers and some wandering trolls we get in the forums, it seems that people really like this game.
LOL, no kidding it should be up on the chart. It is a newly released game. Xfire is probably installed on 1/10th of 1% of all gamers computers, yet World of Warcraft is still being played 4x as much as it's closest competitor. IMO, XFire needs to get a lot more MMORPGs on there tracking software.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
As for sales of HL--I have been following them on Amazon. HL has been in the #1 spot for "RPGs" for a couple of weeks, and is high in the general "video game" category which includes all hardware and software, consoles, etc. It already has 9 reviews.
You'd expect any new game to hit #1 for awhile.
Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you can walk.
Hellgate london and TF2 owns tis cristmass
Havent been tis hooked to play for while, last time i was hooked WoW beta/retail. Tis game will be damm great when few patch fix few bug.
Its a program that lets you Chat while your in game ( its like AIM), Download Patches / files, tracks how long you spend in game and has VoIP uses as well.

Well now guild wars is beating it by a 100k and bf2 by 500k but its still beating warcraft 3, counterstrike and silkroad
New games always bring a "crowd". Its only downhill from here, at least in the case of HG:L.
MIMI
I don't think so. The key is that HG:L is very addicting. So it's not like a lot of people are going to play the game for an hour and then put it down. You always want to kill just one more boss. I haven't been this addicted to a game in a few years.
I hope xfire really takes off with this game. I've been a fan of it for years...unfortunately none of my friends are, so I never really got to use it much.
D.
But, is there a way to access numbers of minutes played beyond the top ten? Can one see game #44, forinstance, on the chart? Couldn't figure out how to find that out, and see how other games stack up.
Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you can walk.
Why would anyone in their sane mind allow a service like Xfire to track what you do?
