Questions as i download the free trial

i have a few questions while i wait these next three hours.

how is the roleplay in AC2?
i come from a gaming community - Neverwinter Nights - where the roleplay was spectacular. Many servers, both localvault and servervault, had their groups of annoying l33+n3ss, but those could be avoided because the servers were grouped by Social, Arena, Action, Roleplay, Story, etc.

is there a lot of shorthand language in use? thats something i cant get used to in fantasy-based online RPG's...typing is not a difficult skill in my opinion, and i can just as easily type "just a moment, friend" than "brb". its also not something i consider conducive to good roleplay either, but this is just my opinion - call me snoody. :P

how is the interface? will it anger me as SWG did since i did not have a manual(used the free trial for that game as well)?

I find it very cumbersome to switch over from a DnD based RPG to any RPG at all...DnD is very deep, and although some of the fantastical ideas are similar, they will not be the same.
how hard will it be to adapt to the AC2 universe coming from a DnD based RPG? I dont want the AC2 learning curve to be so steep i cant get into the game.

You certainly will get "Hail"ed from time to time, however, the roleplaying will not be as much as you could expect from Dungeons & Dragons. On the otherhand, you will not get all the n3rd 3bonics either. Just straight talk mostly.

Unfortunately, like most games, Acronyms become the norm after a while.  You will not understand what people are talking about for a little while, but it will come to you quickly.

With this game, it is so important to understand what you are doing to avoid being bored.  I recommend going to http://AC2HQ.COM and read your ass off.  Also, use their character builder to get a grasp of training and experience points as you will need to train pretty quickly.

Of course, there are no Tolkien characters in AC2.  No safe-bet elf race to take and pwn everyone with.  With that said, I think you will appreciate the fact that Turbine is currently developing the MMORPG D&D Online.  So, one could assume they know how to develop characters if TSR is willing to do business with them.  Without making assumptions, it will be up to you over the next 15 days to decide whether you can relate to the truly unique characters and story in AC2.  I personally think you will like it, be sure to give it a chance though.
