Britannia...that was the name
So I was going to try out this new version.
but the world is called some wierd name, so theres just no way.
The game got stabbed with UO:R...then just kept bleeding with time..and eventually bled dry
I stuck strong until blackthorns revenge, but now its not even the same world anymore?
I thought it was supposed to be the UO I knew and loved, but with better graphics?
ISNT THAT WHAT ALL US HARDCORE UO FANS WERE ASKIN FOR?!?!

If you have a problem with ninja's and paladin’s co-existing in the UO world then you really should pick up a history book.
What is the problem with elves? With new land comes new races, monsters ect.
The problem with elves? The problem with elves is every other freakin game has them. What was so wrong with running around as a human? When I started playing UO i thought it was based around the mystical world of wizards and knights. It was too! until they braught in mechanical golems, (wierd) then they braught in the % changes, neon items, Item based armor and weapons, Giant beetles, Giant Ants, insurance, the list goes on and on.
We aren't bitching just for the hell of it. We grew up with UO, and seeing it change into a Piece of "crap" bothers us. We bitch cause we care!
If UO is so great then why are you waisting your time posting here. Shouldn't you be playing? I know when I was playing UO, I never once posted on a forum cause the game kept me playing instead of posting.

Britannia was the modern name of the world of Lord British. In reality it went by several other names from earlier civilizations. Im at work so I dont have time to look it up but I believe the humans called it Sossira or something like that? As for the elves, they've been hidden in the game quite some time. One of the main charecters in the Silver Serpent game was a elf and a time lord mentioned the elves influences on the earlier civilizations. Suffice the game was alot deeper then the simple Britannia we were presented in Ultima False Prophet. Mind you it became obvious how complex it was in Ultima Pagan. Anywho, no complaints on my part. The game really is complex.

I come here to read about several games, not just UO.
If EA would make a classic shard we'd all be playing and there wouldn't be any bitching. Instead you have people who can't let go of the game, and think that bitching continuously will get EA to change UO to the way it was.
One more time, I hate NEON, armor properties, nerfs, insurance, ect. But the game IN ITS CURRENT STATE is still one of the best mmo's I've ever played.
I recently resubscribed to UO and loved it...to a point.
That point came when all I saw was the same scripters getting away with scripting despite GM's being called...EA selling anneversary gifts for real life money...the economy is shot to pieces and the player interaction isn't needed anmore cause no-one uses GM products anymore since the advebnt of itemisation.
That said...I still loved it but got frustrated playing it as I knew what it could be.
UO still has its die hards...the people who have been there since the beginning but I secretly suspect that they feel they have too much tied up in the game to quit.
Then again, as already ststed, there's nothing that compares at the moment.

I'll even go so far as to say till a game comes out that has nothing to do with UBER loot or lvl's we will never see a game with the level of RP UO had again.
In my opinion MMORPG's are no longer being produced. MMO's are out the bumm but the RPG is missing in every one.
Skill system and crafted loot only will be our savior.

What do you expect they changed the whole game.
From Mainly skillbased with items to itembased with skills.
Also does not help that in my opinion UO was designed to be storydriven and a world instead of just a game and EA decided to cut costs and remove most of the stories they do and let the players do the rest.
That the game is still alive shows how solid and good the foundation of the game is.
