I subscribed and had no issues with it. Though do realize that the first update is not until December in which we will be getting a 300mb content update which includes additional areas and some other things. Having a blast with the game. Right now I am working on summoner level 32 and in Nightmare mode. The loot there is alot better than normal mode.

Now I havn't seen any threads deleted per say....only the locked ones I mentioned. The new subscription thread is still going.

I'm enjoying the FREE game part(single player and multiplayer), though there are obvious bugs.  You arn't REQUIRED at all to subscribe. I'll admit the only reason I wanted to subscribe is for the expanded maps, loot and the new classes to be added later.

Hmmm seems the forums there are DOWN for maintenance AGAIN....

    New information:

Subscription bugged thread is now locked. The forum now has a new thread with this post:

After burning several drums of midnight oil, we have resolved all current billing issues with our payment processing partners. We’ve completed our payment reconciliation process and players that were incorrectly billed will see paybacks credited to their credit card accounts in the next few days.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, although it impacted just 3% of people that requested to become subscribing members. There is also approximately an equal amount of players whose subscription status has been approved, but their cards were uncharged as we did not process their payment until the issues were resolved.

Again, we’re sorry to those of you who were affected by this.

    -The Hellgate: London team

    --------------------

Personally I beg to differ with the 3% figure. And this post has NO news on other problems, like mine. Their subscription page won't process my VISA, it keeps saying to enter the correct information, yet this is the same information I use for ALL of my online purchases and they go through fine, including my COH/COV monthly account charges.

We'll see what tomorrow brings and how many pages of posts there are on this new thread by then. This total fix is gonna take longer than a few days I think.

I would also suggesting waiting. I did subscribe, but I don't think that what you get right now is worth the $10.

This is why it's so easy to get refunds on this game. Mislabeled/misleading boxes.

Bah.. I keep seeing the same people bitching about this game that are no longer playing. I understand this website is for debating about the game. But serious, when is too much, too much for all you that just cant move on to your other game.

Peeps screaming, fanbois and childish leet speak. Move on or just got back to your original game before you played HGL. I just dont see the logic on talking about a game you find distasteful to you. Unless your ass is just extremely bored and got nothing better to do.

Of course, I subbed, and just by doing this labels me a fanboi, so whats the big fricken deal. Anything you do for enjoyment  (sports, drinking or eveing computer gaming)  You pay one way or another for your amusement. Its not a waste of money if your personally think is not and get your time out of it.

And honestly, as stated soooo many times, $10 bucks isnt shit if you work for a living. Hell I spent $10 bucks a day either at a grocery store, fast food joint or getting my car washed. Now if your a kid getting allowance, then I can see that as a problem.

As the old saying goes, anothers man trash is another man treasure. There is a majority that love this game and the other majority that are just trolls that like bashing HGL.

Personally I like the game, though it has bugs. I just can't subscribe, due to bugs in their subscription page.

So I'm just posting info on whats going on on the boards and with the subscription problems. I'm not bitching, nor being a childish leet.

I paid for the founder's offer.  I like the idea of "owning" all future content.  Never have to worry about paying again.  I also enjoy the game, so it's not a "ripoff" to me.  $150 is not really that much money.  I pay way more than that every single month for a car which I don't necessarily get enjoyment out of using (well, sometimes), but I need to have it.  That doesn't include insurance and gas.  The way I see, that $150 (hopefully) goes into making the game even better.  As a consumer, I see nothing wrong with supporting something I enjoy and can see something even better coming out of.  The only way you can support something (that actually counts) as a consumer is with your money.

3%, PLUS an equal number. That makes 6%. Meaning: one on every 16 people is having problems. He also says that they are all contacted individually. I still see people posting on the official forums that they haven't had any message at all. Problems resolved? I don't think so. My problem isn't resolved yet.

    It's not 3%, but 6%. See above :)

I like the game, but this whole subscription thing stinks of greed, and im even less inclined to hand over my credit card details to them after this latest fiasco.

I don't trust them with my credit card anymore either. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck with my problems in this Kafkaesk nightmare called 'Support'.

Certainly glad I did'nt subscribe now thats for sure ! Thanks again for all the feedback guys !

On another note I've noticed the interest here on Mmorpg.com has all but disappeared for Hellgate not a good sign for the longevity of the game me thinks , very sad tho how a game can die of so quickly after release ..

Well no one should buy the subscription right now. And it is free to play online. The only thing right now you would be missing is the extra storage space in the locker. You will have full enjoyment even though you wouldn't subscribe. I'm betting those who did subscribe are the ones a little perterbed because what they subscribed for is mostly given to non-subscribers anyway.

just like googajob7, i was saved  .... I was on the way clicking "Buy NOW" button and then I had a thought,"why not see wat the spammers's opinions in mmorpg forum first? " , and bingo, I was saved ...thanks god, I saved my 49$ ...... I guess I will use that money to do something else ....

Well as a subscriber, the only thing they gave to non subs was the 24 character slots and the only reason non subs were able to get the events because subsscriptions were down for a few days and to make the game more appealing for non subscribers which was the right thing to do. The only reason one subscribes to the game is because they want that extra content and extra perks.

Now that FSS has fixed many of the issues, Patch 0.6 coming this week with more fixes along with Patch 0.7 to follow very shortly after.  Non subs will still miss out on the extra content subs get every 3 months.

The difference between paying for WoW and paying for this, is that WoW provides value for money.
The server that hosts your game of WoW, is a very expensive machine. It uses a lot of expensive bandwidth too.

Up until MMO's I've always hosted my own servers. Paid for them myself and paid for the bandwith. My 32 player Ghost Recon server cost me £300 a month to keep running. Of course my friends would all chip in, (though many more would not, or would say they would, but on payday, strangely fail to show up).
So playing MMO's was actualy cheaper. Not only could I have access to a vastly superior peice of equipment, capable of hosting thousands not just 32, but because everyone has to pay their own cut to get access, I didn't have to pay anyone elses share anymore. Mymonthly gaming bill was reduced from £300 to £10. So it wasn't really a bitter pill to swallow.
I still host my own servers for other games. The one thing doing this for the past deacde has taught me, is the value of the equipment and the bandwidth.
So I have an insight when I pay for WoW, where the money is going and how much it costs to provide that service.
Hellgate however isn't using it's own bandwidth to host the game any moe than Guild Wars is, or Diablo was. once inside an instance, your computer is hosting. You are providing all the hardware and paying for all the bandwidth.
The difference between paying for WoW and paying for Hellgate os not that I enjoy WoW more, it's that WoW's service costs lots to provide, and Hellgate's doesn't cost fudge all. Blizzard are charging my for the rental of some very exotic computer systems, and Flagship are charging me to use my own.
And then spamming me with adverts. It's just a rip off. The know that most people don't know what servers cost, and they know that a lot of people are willing to pay £10 a month to play other RPG's. They aren't charging you because their service costs that to provide. They are charging you because they think you are dumb enough to pay it.

Many people bought into the hype without really understand what this game is all about. Now these same people cannot do anything but *hope* that HGL will eventually become the game they thought it should have become. Would you call those who paid the monthly subscription model during the pre-order, are morons??

    Because I would....
