Why isnt Shadowrun an MMORPG yet?

Serious...this  pen and paper rpg would make the best mmorpg ever.

It was a little heavy as a pen and paper with figuring all the modifiers all day long but  the computer  can handle that and it has everything other then space flight you can cram into a game!

Like trolls swords melee dragons magic?..    its in there.

Like scifi guns tanks planes ....friggin knight rider cars!.. its in there

I can blab on like an idiot all day but my point is its in there....not joking at all

Im just another bored gamer sick of waiting  a few more years for a game that dont really cut it  and every year im suprised  Shadowrun is still not  online.....someone made it into another mindless shooter..why i dont know ?

I guess im putting my hopes into the future SW game by the KOTOR  folks and the Vampire whitewolf world of darkness thing just begining with CCP...BAH!  bordom

    I'd rather see R. Talsorian's "Cyberpunk" RPG put to MMO. I mean, Shadowrun was cool, but Cyberpunk....omg.

    lol yeah i would take either or...just figured Just figured Shadowrun would take more intrest from the screaming hordes of fantasy fans cause they kept some elements of magic and other things melee...

    The Shadowrun and Battletech IPs were bought by Microsoft, so that's why we haven't seen these obvious no-brainers as MMOs to date.  However, there IS an Open Source project in progress to create a Shadowrun MMO, with Microsoft's blessing.   :-)

     I'd say because Fasa / Microsoft killed it in their recent lame attempt of a shooter.

     I rather doubt Microsoft could make a decent MMORPG. Hell most of their single player games are pretty poor / lame IMHO. (see Shadowrun their slightly multiplayer shooter.)

      Beyound the money they just have no soul, and no understanding of gaming / gamers / or fun.

    Yeah i paid some attention to the shadowrun title microsoft  released. It looked like they tried adding a few elements into a shooter from  the game..was going to get it just for the hell of it then seen it required VISTA.

    I plan on letting vista get a little older b4 i buy it and dont plan on getting  the shooter anymore so i prob saved some money i would regret spending on yet another shit title...

    I am sorry, didn't MS play a significant part in freelancer? One of the most modable space games on the planet? Hmmm, yeah I only played that for countless hours...

    Edit: They are capable, they just need to direct their abilities beyond office and OS.

    Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.

    Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside

    Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.
