Priston Tale goes P2P

Seems to me that this will kill the game, playing today, have a lvl 45 Knight, and after taking a few month break until a couple of weeks ago i got my char to 45 from around 34, played a lot recently. but P2P? Priston Tale? Its not even near ready for this. laggy crap servers, quests?? which ones?!?! They dont exist except for the silly ones at level 20 which are just idiotic. Its all fight fight fight.
So as of today im looking for something else... Cant afford to pay at moment unfortunately. tried Asherons Call 2 for a couple of month in past, enjoyed it for while but on the whole there was too much going on and to pick up on, a map and website open at same time for example! got to be a nightmare and so complicated...
Really love my MMORPGs these days though, downloaded so many trials, thought Knights of Camelot and EQ were crap which i tried last week. EQ for all the hype looked like a spectrum game and really shocked me.

Ok so if you like this game enough to play it to level 45 then surely you must like it enough to pay for it?
If you dont think the game is worth any money then i dont understand why you dont move onto a better game. Either way stop complaining about not being given stuff for free. People work hard to produce these games and i am sure the small amount they are charging will hardly make an impact upon your lifestlye.
Basically what you are saying is that if you went to work and your boss wasnt happy with the standard of your work then you would quite happily tell him not to pay you until your work was worth paying you for. I seriously doubt that would happen so you should be prepared to pay for the work these people are doing to give you a game which you obviously enjoy.
And cant afford to pay for it? Try not going to McDonalds twice a month, or try not going to the pub once. You get nothing for free in life, never have and never will.

I suggest you try either AC1(still a great game), or AC2/DAoC/AO/HZ simply because they have free trials which are nice

Also if you think the game is so terrible WHY DO YOU PLAY IT? are you some kind of simpleton or sadist?
If your original post said you played it once and hated it then i could understand. But you obviously played it a lot. And anything worth as much time as your obviously put into the game is worth some money.
Though i must say $13 is sooo damn expensive, i mean i could almost afford to have a meal out for that ...

I never understood why all the PT players don't want to pay for it...they love the game and when I played it it was fairly stable and seemed much like a gold game. I would have payed for it if it is my style. I'm too into EVE tho.
Though I can understand if you physically can't pay for it but there have been a lot of people complaining on the forums that they don't WANT to pay for it but love the game....

$13 for that game? Hell I would rather go have a nice meal than pay to play PT
But to the poster, he obviously doesn't think it's worth the p2p because he either:
1. Doesn't have a creditcard
2. One of the millions of kids looking to play a free MMORPG
or 3. Both
but really, for $13, i'd rather go play FFXI... wait, I already do

Paid for AC2, credit card obviously, but same again it got to the stage where it wasnt worth paying for, IMHO.
I fance giving City of Heroes a go and would pay the price for game and rental IF i enjoyed it, but to ask someone to pay 25-30 quid in a shop for a game that they then must pay another whatever it is, 10 quid a month on top, without even knowing if they like it, to rely on screenshots, is absolutely mental. Sure other games cost as much but you can play them offline, once you pay this its either a keep on paying game OR you throw the box+CD in the bin!
Its nothing to do with me not having the money, jesus i have spent more in the last 8 days enjoying myself with mates than most people on here will earn in a month i bet (thats serious btw).
I would pay for the likes of FFXI in a second i bet, it looks amazing, but.... i cant get it in the UK can i?
My quest is to basically find something i think is worth the cash.... Downloaded EVE ONLINE Trial last night and after 30 mins im bored of that... will go give it some time though.
This is my first post, as some will see. I am one of the PT orfans too. Played it for like 5 month total and also can´t afford to pay a $14 monthly fee. Simply because I live in a country (BRAZIL) where they pay me $80 (the brazilian minimun wage) to work for 6 hours. And I still have to pay $220 to study the other 6 hours of my day(college). I just can´t pay that much for online entertainament.
Im on vacations now and need a new adictive MMORPG to enjoy. If you guys could give me a hint, I would be gald.
i personally have played pt for around 2 months, and have a level 33 fighter. I really enjoy the game but the main reason for the not wanting to pay the $13 a month is that the game still has many errors, e.g getting stuck in places, trades not working right, many spelling errors and of course lag. I would however pay something like 6-8 dollars a month, as it would kill alot less play and would still keep them running,
I will however get the first month of p2p to see what is cleared up with it, as it does seem like it will have some pretty cool things in it,
i would however like to see more quests and different things to do, why not make it that your character can cook, eat food for some hp back?
i also would like a good rpg suggested, as i used to play alot of age of empires, anyone know one that would be good for me?
anyway, i am sure you are all fed up of me rambling on,

Oh yeah, it is quite tempting to try it out for a month to see what they will do with the game. Ive seen many promises in the official website. Quite interesting. But I´m afraid to like it too much and have myself bankrupt by this game
Anyway, I am still accepting sugestions on mmorpgs to try out. Maybe it be free, month trial, pay-it once-and-play-4ever. Everything! I just can´t pay monthly more than 5 bux for the same game. My opinio may change with the incoming World of Warcraft (for the Hoooooooard!)
Okay, so this is my first post ever, but ive been reading forums for a long time. Anyway what it basically comes down to with p2p or free is whether the game is worth it, and thats where formerly free games dont make the cut. Games that you have to buy at the store go through development and testing by professionals with the support of large companies. Meanwhile, the freebies are the result of a smaller company's devotion. People just wont pay to have buggy games with little variety and polish in them when they could spend the same money on a mainstream game with many more features. Until the free game makers who want to go p2p realize that they are not on the same level in quality as the mainstream games and charge accordingly, they are doomed to see their fan base shrink.
Btw anyone looking for free a new mmorpg just check out the forum on this very site under the "general" heading. There's sooo many to choose from
PT isn't ready for Pay to Play.
Developers think it is but I've yet to see evidence that it is ready.
Gave ALL my items away on ALL Characters and all mules the day they announced it was going pay to play.
My Level 61 archer still needed items that were somewhat close to my level... Had many items that were 20 to 30 levels below that because some items are so damn rare.
When someone had an item you really really needed they wanted everything you had and more.
Frustrations are now over.
I wish them well in their efforts.
Overall PT is well done except for the GAPING HOLES on getting items you need once you pass level 40.
I don't know how priston tale will do in p2p, it seemed like it should have a strong enough player base to survive.
Allthough with players like parachute (level 70+ archer from awhile back) leaving over the rush into p2p who knows.
this game has been in one form of beta or the other for 2 years now, if they had something magical to make the game so much b3etter, you would know about it by now, not in the first month of p2p.
thats how horizons tricked everyone into buying the game, people thought(because they were told) that there was some great version of the game, entirely differnt than the beta, that was in the box. they were wrong.
back to the point, if you dont want to pay for PT then download one of the other games that are almost exactly like it [i.e. lagheim, savage eden, cronius] one of them is bound to still be free.
Played priston tale....liked it..but went p2p...most of the pple hates pristontale..
