Do you think we will ever get any or does anyone know if they are planned?

Yes, they will add vehicles.
From what I heard, the letter in the limited edition box talks a bit about future updates and states vehicles.
will they be like mounts? like can you use them at will or will they be for traveling like wows gryphons?
Please dont compare ANYTHING to WoW.
And theres no information other than they WILL be there.
No need for anything like community type "gryphons" since you can teleport between bases in the blink of an eye and in between planets with another blink

Well unfortunately its the easiest comparison to make with the question I had, I don't enjoy using it any more than you lol.Cool, thx again Mith
Most importantly, will they be assault or transport mecha? (Or both!?)
I have to believe they'll have an offensive purpose. Mechanized armor suits seem like a pretty inefficient mode of travel, if that's all they're for. We already see similar combat models at control points, so I'm guessing it'll be something along those lines. Just about everything in the game has a military application, and I can't see why the developers would change course with the PAUs. Also, the fact that they're called Personal Assault Units and not Personal Travel Outfits is a big clue.
Some kind of dirt bike or hovercraft would be nice for transports.
I can also imagine larger combat vehicles being used in certain areas.
Hi
it would be very cool if something like the warthog from halo was introduced - eg, one player drives, another rides shotgun, another operates a heavy gun.
cheers

I wonder how they would work in practice. I mean the landscape is fairly cluttered so Halo/Planetside vehicles would be difficult...apart from the flying ones of course.
I don't know...just doesn't seem doable. The mech suits on the other hand would be viable.
Guess we'll see soon enough.

I have to agree in one way or another. As much as I'm excited for PAUs (extremely excited), it's hard to imagine them being useful in the sense that there is rapid transit with the waypoints, and you also need to go from one map to the next having to load it. I think they would be superior if it was one streaming world, but these seperate zones like this vary in size (usually small zones). But who knows! These PAUs are used to fight and to zoom zoom, and I know they will be a ton of fun.
Personally, I'm thinking more along the vehicles from Tribes2...(Hover tanks with gunnery positions, etc). Maybe even have a large, mobile deployable base as seen in T2 (slower than death, needing escort, but once it's set up, you have a tactical "hard point").
