Ok, I found this in the General Discussion forums under the MMORPG Pub threads. Unfortunately this was too big of a thread for me to simply copy/paste, so if you have some time, take a look at it, let us know what you think... you think it's real? Vaporware?

Note: at the end of the article there's a thread so you can go to the website where it came from, that way you can make your own deductions.

It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me.
I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.

did i just hear smedster scream noooooooooooooooooooooo lol
Hell just froze over...
I don't know if it's true or not, but I certainly hope it is. If it was, I can just imagine Smed's eyes bulging wide and needing a new change of underwear lol!
a good peice of fiction there unless its true...then yay
I don't see how that could be official, it doesn't really match anything that Walton and the other BioWare Austin people have said and borrows far too much directly from SWG.
It also doesn't sound like fun.. it gives the impression of playing Kotor in a way like Hellgate is done.. a single player (or 12 in this case) campaign that the player plays through by themselves with their party and meets in social instances to trade and chat. Boring.
oh come on guys
that dude just wrote down the old star wars galaxies empire divided class descriptions and changed them a little...
and 3 or 4 scout style professions ? what the hell? how stupid and confusion would that be?
SOE won't make ever again such extreme changes in the architecture of their game, the NGE shock was way too big for them, so you can expect no NGE again for the rest of that games beeing
they broke promises before? yes, but they never lost about 90 percent of their customers for a game, SOE knows that they cant afford something like that again, so you can be 100 percent sure that there won't be another combat upgrade ever again..
so you can defently forclose another combat upgrade for star wars galaxies...
if ever, then those stuff will be implemented in swg2 or another game by another company, but not with the current star wars galaxies..
peace
"You must be either retarded or a fanboi..."
I agree with you there, I didn't like the whole grouping with NPC's thing, reminds me too much of KOTOR and Guild Wars. While I do like KOTOR a lot, I don't want to play the same game mechanics in an MMO, I'd rather group with other players than group with NPC's
No way that is anything remotley official.
Looks like BS to me, but then again I remember reading the NGE warning post and thinkin that was BS.
If anything it sounds like a totally different game, not a system change, so SWG if that opened would basicly be erased and everyone would have to start again. Can't really see that happening.
Still isn't classic SWG so wouldn't really look forward to these changes and chances are I wouldn't bother to try them unless everone on here was saying it was amazing, which involving $OE is very unlikely to happen.
What would be likely is a rushed buggy mess would be released with loads of badly implemented systems stolen from games that do those systems well.
Can't see Bioware making this because it is too close to swg pre-nge with the proffesions atleast anyway.
So overall I think someone has too much time on their hands.
I honestly hope so. I am still very skeptical myself when I read the grouping dynamics. Grouping with NPC's???? Yes I know it can be done, Guild Wars has it, FFXI has it as well. but in FFXI it's limited and I honestly don't like it in Guild Wars because it means you can just solo through out the whole game without ever having to play with another player ever.
Don't get me wrong, I like KOTOR and I like the grouping dynamics for KOTOR, but that's just because KOTOR is a single player game. I honestly can't see this same dynamic being used for Bioware's new MMO. If that were the case, then more than likely I'd never ever have NPC buddies because I'd rather group with player characters... you know... interact and socialize. NPC groups kinda discourage that.
One of the few rumors I hope is WRONG.
This makes WoW sound like a "sandbox" game. Like a slightly modified console game.
Horrible.
As I stated over on BioWare's forums, this was posted on the official SWG forums (by a player) either right before or right after CU.
It's over two years old, and definitely... FAKE.
Sorry guys.
Classic servers all the way baby!
Thanks for clearing that out Altos... phew! I was starting to have visual nightmares of having to group with NPC's instead of actual player characters -_-
You are mistaken. This was never once on the SOE SWG boards. I can pull every single one of those big rumor posts out from the last 4 years and prove that this never once showed up on their boards. This is something else. Some of the concepts are a bit mixed up, but it's like a collection of random notes. Maybe a re-write, mixed with a new game, kinda like when someone gets chocolate in your peanut butter, you get Reece’s. Get your facts straight next time before you open your yapper.
Tillamook, I know you know something we don't
come on, let us in on the secret hee hee

I know some things others here don't, but I can't say unless I'm told I can say by the people who told me. For now all we can do is wait.

No, this actually was there. I have quite a good memory. I was not able to find the original post (since the old boards have LONG BEEN DELETED). However this popped up again over a year ago here.
That came from the same source, Look at the name.
To further quell the original posting above...
If you know how to pull it up...

Of course I had to do some searching, but I loved the end of the thread with the last message:
Posted by Thunderheart
Actually, grouping with NPCs would be great for the game today, given the current live populations.
That's not a dig. I'm serious. They should implement that
Thunderheart knows everything eh? Even the guys at the Edmonton studio didn't know what the MMO was about untill very recently. Stan, Chris and James where all speculating themselves. The only people who knew was a small faction of develpers at the Austin BioWare studio for a long time. Their meetings in Edmonton used to start with the phrase "No we can't talk about the MMO". But things have a way of slipping out.
Lol, no - besides, TH is long gone - as now is Greypawn.
So, I've been looking back at how much you seem to know about a lot of MMO's in all of your other posts. As well as either put them down or spread incorrect speculation on them.
May I guess you already know all of what is going on at BioWare as well (since you seem to be enforcing the two year old "draft" as fact) and all there is to know about the new MMO? (I seriously doubt you know any more than my wife who doesn't even know what MMORPG means.)
Reading the draft is like reading every one of a hundred other concepts... it's got a few good ideas and a lot of bad ones. When I looked further I found more garbage from this same "source" saying that they were taking the database of the Pre-CU servers and dumping it into that system. Then a bunch more nonsense of Elder Jedi getting to be the new level 90 and so many skill points to distribute, etc. etc. etc. Complete garbage.
*If* BioWare is working on a Star Wars MMO, I'm sure they wouldn't want the old SWG databases cluttering up their systems. :P
What is really going to be funny is that if their MMO is not a Star Wars based one - your credibility in any facet will be irreparable. Then of course even if it is SW based, and claiming that this "source" is correct, again it's irreparable.
it's worded exactly like my old "My Perfect MMORPG" blogs, and the "perfect MMO" blogs of countless other MMORPG addicts.
Though just a week ago my brother informed me about a rumor from a "friend in LOTRO who still plays SWG" that a classic server was in the works... and would be announced this week, but obviously that turned out to be false.
Note the article from RealMMO is titled (see what difference only a year can make?) or something to that effect?
Which means this "article" is about a year old.
What they are refering to is now that the Bioware/KOTOR rumors are going crazy strong, "the difference a year can make" is that this article may somehow be related to the Bioware MMO? Doubtful.
It's realMMOs fault for confusing people like that.
This is totally 100% just fan fiction, some SWG vets "perfect SWG"
again, just look at how it's written, the read ANY of the "my perfect MMO" blogs of any MMORPG.com blogger that has such a blog, you can tell that it's fan written and nothing even close to official.
Just wait on Bioware MMO news people, it will come eventually. I predict, after Mass Effect hits stores and has time to "soak in" they'll release their MMO details.
It looks rather fake to me. Of someone makes a clone of pre-NGE SWG, whether using SW IP or not, then I would be interested. But this just doesn't look real to me.
On the other hand, "amublation" in EVE looks entirely real. Depending on where they take that over time, it may well meet the needs of many SWG vets looking for a space game. Thier abilities to keep upgrading their graphics to make them better and better, and rolling out supported Mac and Linux clients, shows that they are really working hard on their baby. They work out what their customers want, and try to give it to them ... such a pity SOE never had that concept. So if you want to have entertainer in EVE, then once ambulation comes in, play an entertainer, even if you don't have the tools. If enough people play that way, then if EVE holds true to their design approach then they will add tools to enable that playstyle. Besides, they need to write that kind of code anyway if they are going to have Toreador in the their joint World of Darkness game!
