Asura or Remora?

Hey guys, I'm playing a Red Mage (lvl 5) on Remora, but everyday I see lots of topics of people playing on Asura... So, which one is better? Is the population difference big?

Asura is the top server atm it seems most pop. the top three are in this order: Asura , Odin, Titan. Also yes alot of people that are on this forum are on Asura if you rnew it would be a great place to start playing but its your call in the end.
it's always nice to have a good group of people to help you out, and on asura there seems to be a lot of us mmorpg.com folks all at the early levels of the game. This is a community based game after all!
if you are only level 5 and have no real reason like.. other friends on remora.. then I would definately switch to Asura.

This is very impressive we got a group that keeps growing once i get my computer back i'll get the information for a ventrilo server i used to use that is empty all the time now.

I'll create a character on Asura tonight.
I feel like we started a movement.
I don't advise going to Asura. I played there for a while and the community is sub-par. People that don't act overly-nice toward the higher guilds will have a VERY hard time getting groups. You are stuck acting like the other North American FFXI players. By that I mean typing with ^^ in every sentence, using the translator for every word, and trying not to be yourself (unless you're an outrageously nice person 24/7).
I played on Asura up to level 75 and the server itself was the reason for my quitting. Orophinn and other important figures on the server abuse power and make it a hard place to enjoy yourself. Now, some people get along well there but I find that once again, the only people who do are the people willing to go out of their way to kiss butt.
I also played on 2 other servers to play with my friends, one being Odin, and the communities are much better. At the time they had more JP players than Asura but the community overall was more laid back. Also, it's been 2 years since I quit so Asura might be better now, but my educated guess is that it's still the same. Either way, good luck in FFXI and remember, the JP players might make you feel out of place but just keep your head up and enjoy it for what it's worth.
I played on Asura three years ago, and now I play on it again. The community is much better now. Asura is definatley the top server this game has right now.
