why not more burglars?

honest to god everywhere i see lore-masters, guardians, and champions and even hunters and minstrels.
BUT WHAT I DONT SEE ENOUGH OF IS BURGLARS!!!
makes me feel left alone by myself, i mean why isnt any1 picking burglar whats wrong with a burglar, he can pick pocket, he cant be seen, he can ask riddles and he can even hunt for treasures. i dont know about you guys but im lovin my burglar

I cant see why anyone would play anything other than a burglar. Burglars own. I think its because everyone thinks you need to be a hobbit to be a burglar. Im a "man" Burglar, which I think is beter than hobbit.

I'm a burglar and i'm going to be coming back off hiatus so
Burglar's have weak crowd control and the debuffs were terribly nerfed so now it's not even a debuff class anymore. DKP is worse than Hunter or Champion and parties usually have no feeling about the fact that only burglar stays alive after a wipe. Parties don't really want them, because there is practically no real use for them, to be a solid sneaker you need all your traits to be improving it. In addition legendary traits that other classes usually can't decide which 2 to choose because all four are strong. Burglar has no hard decision because two of them sucks so hard noone uses them.

Honestly I think these small nerfs are just preperation for the "burglar month of love".Other than the legendary traits I completely disagree with your description of the Burglar. They are as valuable in a group as a minstrel..more so than a guardian IMO. The Burglar has the best skills in the game..not talking about the ones that do damage either. A burglar that knows how to play his class is practically a back-up to all other classes..they can fill in when one goes down, or even take on that role completely. They are a minstrels best friend if the burg is doing his job.They can also beat any class in a duel..they own in pmvp....and they have their own content built into the class..the abilty to steal and sneak. Burglar/ historian FTW. Best kept secret in the game. Ive played one since early beta. Burglars are the shit in this game. Id take one in my group over a champ, captian, LM, even hunter depending on if travel in necessary.
Like I said earlier..i think its because people assume you need to be a hobbit that you dont see more.

heh funny how when PvP is absent from a game the rogue numbers fall away quickly.
personally i am living in heaven playing my Rogue just the way i like it.
hated the 10000x of hunters on WoW when i played because people jumped to conclusions and rejected me from nearly everything
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
Burglar is not a rogue, it's not DPS class. Therefore the low popularity.
REALITY CHECK
The class dps is fine, but YMMV from burg to burg. The burg is the swiss army knife of classes in lotro, it can pretty much fit most roles that you need. I know every time I get invited to quests you always hear great a burg. In the ettenmoors fuhgetaboutit.
The Burg was my favorite class by far. Even in open beta and after launch, Burgs were one of the lesser played classes. The two major reasons for this:
1) NOT A DPS CLASS, unlike most MMO rogues. Players that expected to roll up a Burg WTF PWN everything were turned off pretty quick.
2) Somewhat challenging to play. You actually had to think a little when you played a Burg, rather than just charging in head first and spamming the KILL button.
Personally, I loved the class design. I don't feel like MMO's ever have a true thief or rogue class, but the Burg was much closer to what they should be. Lots of tricks, lots of utility, lots of survivability. Not to mention, they have very nice burst DPS.
In groups, you really could take on several roles with a Burg, depending on what other classes are in the group. Many times, I was peeling aggro off the healer or secondary tanking adds or adding in DPS. All of that on top of your normal debuff,CC, and FM duties. Was a fun group class.

another thing that grinds my gears is the fact that turbine had to leave out the dual weilding traits of a burglar until your lvl 10!! i mean COME ON!! minus the fact that the dual weild saves the life of a burglar in the lvl 1-9 part of your character, but they didnt up any of the hits it could do with just 1 dagger or sword or mace (mind you those and another weapon are the only weponds of the burglar). like plz do something about them because i want more people to get into the burglar footsteps so we'll see more diversity in middle earth when it comes to classes. i mean seriously wouldnt it be so boring if all you saw were mistrels, hunters, lore masters and guardians?
Most people play stealth classes for pvp purposes. The place I see most burgs is in the ettenmoors. Just look how many wargs there are in MP. For me, playing a stealth class outside of pvp gets boring quick.
One other reason is that only Men and Hobbits can play burgs. 2 races don't have the option of playing hurts the population of the class. I'm not sure if capts are less then burgs since only men can be capts.
I'm not sure why there are not more Burgs from before. I'm not sure there aren't. I see plenty on Landroval. The last group I was in a Burg with, the poor bugger had to relog 4 times to egt through a chapter quest. Perma aggro bug was sad. I have a 13 Burg. I'm not even going to waste time trying to level her with that kind of stuff going on.
