Last week NCsoft had a presence at the G-Star games conference in Seoul, South Korea, where they showed off their games, including Aion. They have since shared a selection of concept art and renders from Aion: Tower of Eternity and we are now pleased to share these images with you.

You know this looks like a really sweet game.
I like the pictures, it would be neat to know if the character images are in game. Although, I suppose they are too in depth to be real in game character images —but i guess they will be the basis of what character will look like in Aion.
The Demons (Bad guys/Evil people/Whatever) Look really, really awesome.
Is this another rigid class structure game?
The world of Aion is divided into Dark and Light. But it's not Evil and Good.

I'd like to know if the game play is fun myself and what about character customization and development. Will this game be anything like Lineage II in regards to that? Not many selections in Lineage II and not much in the way of character development - its all gear and item driven.
There is supposed to be more character customization then there is in lineage 2, but to what extent I'm unsure. Also I believe reading you can wear any armor graphic you like on your character. Sort of like the EQ2 appearance tab.
I'm not to certain how class structure will work out and it's level of customization, because they have very little information regarding that atm.
Oh and one more thing they said the grind or leveling will be very similar to western style mmos. They are trying to cater to a world market on this one.
It amazes me that such low polycount graphics look like games with way more. I mean look at this....this is awesome. Korean graphics artist are so far ahead of western graphics artist it isn't even funny. This picture has lots going on(very busy) and yet I bet this game runs smoother then most NA MMORPG's that are made in the states.
Well I would have to say that Korean MMO artists are definitely ahead, but there are plenty of Western games with excellent scenery on a low poly budget.
The engine that NCSoft is using for Aion is the CryEngine which should be much better then using the Unreal 2 Engine like they did with Lineage 2. The reason why I say this is because the CryEngine seems to be built ground up for large exterior maps. While the Unreal Engine excels at interior zoned out maps.
they have to be smart about how they make their games because over in Korea it costs a shit load more to buy computers we have over here.
Congratz to the artists on some beautiful images
The concept paintings are very stylish, but what really amazes me are the in game shots I've seen. There are no shortcuts or substitutions for hard work and skill. I hope the game play is deserving of this great art.
I keep hoping that the localization for North America on this is decent. I've been disappointed by a few Korean MMO localization efforts, and I'm hoping NCSoft can do a good job with this one as the story intrigues me.
i think you are mistaken here , Aion is not and will not use cryengine because the extend of modfication they have to make to the game so they are abble to have a server with cryengine compatibility and support for thousands of players is huge , and the game is almoust done when this game started there was no cryengine , another thing , to play cryengine with full chracteristics you need Dx 10 graphic card a loooooot of ppl don't have that = aaaa loooot of ppl will not play it = a loooot of customers lost .
Cryengine is not the the only motor that can output graphics like that quake enemy territory is not using cryengine but still looks and feels super , and from the game play movies i tend to belive that it is still unreal II motor ( the lineage look alike faces and movements ) or personal graphic motor.
ps: cryengine laggs like hell if your servers have more then 64 ppl on it( try and find a server with a bigger number of players or try to play it on dx9 and you will see what i am talking about)

VirgoThree is correct, Aion is using a modified version of the CryEngine. And no, you do not need DX10 to run it. I think you might be confusing CryEngine with CryEngine 2. The second one is what Crysis runs on, and is DX10.
my bad then if i mistaken the engines
