quited / or tried to quit WoW ? I've tried to leave that game for 4 times, after realizing that other games cannot hold my attention for more than 2 weeks, i'm now again.. /sigh returning to WoW..

Seems like i just can't fit into other games, they seem too unpolished and complex apart from WoW..

So yeah, i can officially call myself a WoW addict from Nov. 2004. :D

It's easy to quit a bad game. Only tired once and I have never gone back.

Yep, I have quitted 4 times now as well.

The lack of other good and addicting games and the boredom of iRL brings me back.

Several times, though I've quit for good this time.  I ended up deleting my characters, including one that had several tailor made epics and some other things.  It's a fun game, and easily accessible, but to be honest I was starting to get burnt out on raiding and other things.  It was also eating too much of my time.

I'm not sure what I'll play now, though.   I might just kill time with Hellgate London and Guild Wars until Warhammer comes out, if that's any good.

i quit once after playing it to level 8 on release day.

I found out my friends played like a month later and signed back up, then quit when I had 3 guys to lvl 10 and 1 at lvl 20

I finally got bored of eve and sat around the house for a month and then gave WoW another shot, I played for like a year and half then and quit when they took away CastSpell in macros.

Then I wanted to see what BC was all about so I signed back up again and rolled with some guildmates up to lvl 70 and thought man BC is the shit and by shit I mean horrible.

so I guess I've quit 4 times too, but I have yet to go back.

I quit when they implemented cross-server PvP and took away titles.  The push to Grand Marshall and the fun of BGing with and against the same people was really the only thing that kept me in WoW.  I tried once to come back and I didn't last more than two weeks... it's just boring to me.

I dont think you can quit WoW if you like the game.  I mean if you play a games like Hitman Blood Money and a month later are you going to quit because your bored of it?  No I bet you go back now and then and replay Hitman, that if you like it.  The difference with WoW you have to pay monthly.  As long as people can afford 15 dollars a month, and generally like the game, then they mostlike come back if there bored of playing it for awhile.  Just like anyother game.  But then you have poor people who have to sacrifice something  just to play,  they might just rather do something else.  Then there other people who might like the game, but the replay is so low, that they might quit once they max out.

I quit when they release TBC.  Paying 40 dolllars just for an expansion, with no free month, +10 unwanted levels, with additional other non-wanted stuff.  I could get another game, and buy another game every 3 months, then play WoW.

Two or three times I think, But I always come back because so many of my friends  play it and talk about it in real life.

I quit several times, but I always got bored and went back after a few months. (MMO's, despite people complaining about monthly fees, are actually ridiculously cheap for the amount of entertainment they provide).

I've never been big on WoW's style of PvP though and though I did have a lot of fun raiding I work an irregular schedule IRL that kept me from ever getting very far, so after the last time I quit I tried Eve.

It's not perfect but it's fun and different so I'll stick with it for a while, esp. since WAR is delayed... again

Zero.  Although my playtime has varied.  For the first year I played every day for 4 or 5 hours a day on average, then my time gradually decreased until the expansion and then I was playing quite a bit again.  Now I'm back to playing only a couple hours a night and not every night, but I'm sure it will pick back up when the next expansion comes out.

I've quit a few times also for various reasons.  The trouble is that it is so easy to go back to WoW because it offers the best overall package on the market.  There are a few other ok games out right now that would be interesting to play, but I don't want more of the same that is just watered down and has bad performance to boot.

I am ready for a new game like spellborn or heroes journey.  Darkfall looks amazing even for being a first person shooter style and the dev are very in touch with MMO gamers when they talk about the reasoning behind their design choices.  Maybe conan or warhammer, but I am not following as closely as I'd like.

I quit once about 2 years ago after playing a few characters up to the 30-40 range. Returned a few months back and can honestly say that day to day I feel different about the game. Some days I hate it, some days I have fun. Some days are actually both. I wish to quit on the days I hate and can't be happier with the game on the days it's fun.

Who knows what I'll do next. I may move on completely when something about another game jumps out to me. As it stands right now...I play 2-3 MMO's but have been playing wow more lately.

To be honest, this is a lot of the problem I was having with the game.  It's a love/hate thing depending on the day.  The further I got into it at 70, though, and the hate started to outweigh the fun times.  The downside to the game being so accessible, is that I'm a bit tired of the lower level zones so playing alts for fun even starts to become a little tedious.  At the point I was, the majority of the fun I was having in game was based more around the folks in my guild.  Raiding with them was fun, but ate way too much of my time.

But, so far I haven't found a good replacement game.  There are others that have a deeper PvE element, but then lack some of the fun of WoW's pvp.  Basically I guess I want more WoW, but not.

I've tried to quit multiple times, but ended coming back, although i can say without a doubt that this is was my finally time quiting. I just can't go back as hard as i try to get myself, i just can't get over the lack of immersion, player diplomacy, and world PvP. Sorry blizz, but your game is horrible.

Over the past three years, a few times.

But, now, am winding down for good, I believe.

Done the 1-70 standard content so many times.  And I do not Raid-Grind or PvP-Grind, so there is nothing more for me to do.  No new content.

And the BC expansion, nor the upcoming expansion, are providing new races, new classes, and most importantly, an new full 1-70 continent.  All the expansion content is really targeted to level cap players and shut-in players.  And, no, I do not consider the two new Races in BC, the cross-classing of Paladin/Shaman, or the lame 1-20 starter zones, or the Level-Cap-Grinding DeathNight to be sufficient new content for 'standard' game players.

So, am slowly winding down any play time in WoW.  Bideing my time in LoTRO until AoC and WAR are available to see if they will fit the bill for the next 3 years.

Been fun, but no longer a game that can hold my interest for another year.  Others milage can and will vary.

I initially played 9 months from launch date then quit.  After a 4 month hiatus, I came back for another 10 month run...then quit again, for what appears to be the final time.  WOW free now.

Actually when I quit WoW I had never looked back, having too much fun playing Another Game.  Why I returned was not due to anything Blizzard did, but a RL friend who plays bought me the expansion and a game card.  I found that WoW was far more tolerable when it was "free" to play....

Though if Age of Conan is half as good as the hype, WoW will become a distant memory rather quickly.

Thankfully quiting is easy. Its having the ability to stay away thats hard. IN todays MMORPG market, there isnt many other games that are better that WoW.

Just start hardcore raiding till the expansion comes out and every bit of uberness becomes instantly trivialized. You'll feel like a scrub all over again and quit soon after.

Also try improving your RL status. You'll be amazed on how much you dont need WOW or any online game if you have a life thats full of excitement.

Yep, came back for TBC realized it was still the exact same game and nothing was new. Lich king will be the exact same. Quit twice and now I know that the expansions are nothing more than an attempt at retention for a poorly executed game. It had so much potential it is a dam shame.

I've quit WoW maybe 3 times?Really got tired of the time consuming raids. Came back for TBC expecting new stuff and some "sass" but all they really gave you was:

10 more lvls, a boxset worth 30 bucks, 2 new races, other crap and, oh well would you look at that? More raiding! Lovely.

For some odd reason now my friends are getting back into the addiction because of sheer boredom IRL. I'm resisting but I need an MMORPG to set my fix on. Maybe I'll try LOTORO or EQ2. Something to keep me busy till Warhammer Online releases.
