Hehe, yeah, I know. It's something most vegetariens don't like to admit though. It's always odd though. Especially a human eating cow who passes time gardening.

to prove banning accounts and cd keys dose no good... i asked around today for cd keys from diffrent clans and i got about 20 keys in about 1 night..... well... mayb newb will go out and by the game agine .. but for most of the "expert" hackers they will jsut change there cd key with a cdkey changer and log right back onto battle b.net and start hacking agine.

Exactly if the person is smart enough to hack a game, not that some of these  games take much brains to hack, then I am sure they will think of a cd key generator for the game, Incase they do get caught and banned.

After all anything can be found online, if you look hard hard enough.

Besides WOW is already being hacked, and exploited through out all of beta to repair bugs and remove exploits found. I am sure that not all exploits are being reported by the testers anyway.

L2's beta had tons of bots, but i havnt heard anything about bots in WoW. yet...
  • AnnekynnAnnekynn Member Posts: 1,437

Because WoW Gm's/Admin's arent sponsoring teams of koreans/chinese to farm gold and sell it on ebay for a cut of the profits. L2 could be bot free within a week if ANY effort was made to crack down on the botting.

I don't know if any of you people have tried, but keys gotten from generators rarely to never work online. You can get it running and play single-player if you so choose, but you can't play online. Besides, while you might have gotten 20 keys off bnet, that's for old games anyways! try getting 20 WoW serial keys right now that actually work on their servers. That's more of a challenge.

As several have said before in this thread, you can't compare D2, WC or any of those games with a MMORPG, you won't be able to use a cdkey gen and change your cd key, you will have to buy the game again if you get banned, doesn't matter how good at hacking you are.

Another thing most MMORPG have is a good log system, they log most things so it's alot easier to find exploiters and ban them.

WoW won't have any hackers, but there will be people trying to exploit bugs, trying to dupe money and all other stuff that have been tried in all other MMORPGs, a good log system can make it easy to ban exploiters and track duped money/items so noone gain on exploiting.

Even still, you have to have an active account. That requires a monthly fee. They won't let you log onto the servers with an unpaid for account. I've never met anyone in all my years of mmorpging who found a way to play for free.

My understanding is that it is almost impossible to hack the system because it is on their servers and they monitor them....but then again...nothing is imposible.

Id want to meet the hacker who could hack a major MMOG and get away with it. That require him to hack through a 128-bit encryption at least, one hell of an achievment.

One hell of an achievement for some kiddy sitting around on his bum playing MMO's, yeah. But there are always the supreme peoples who are just jaw-droppingly awesome at things, hacking included. It can be done i'm most certain.

Every MMORPG that comes out isn't necessarily gonna have hackers. But this game WILL have exploiters, noobkillers, and conmen. Hell even I ripped off alot of noobs in SWG (selling cdef pistols that helped make you force sensetive lmao, they sold for 10k each) Idunno about hacking, but it's not likely. I'd rather worry about the first 3,

Any potential hacking damage would result most likely in a restore of a days worth of gaming.  If a hacker were smart enough to leech equipment or xp from the system without having to do anything, I doubt this would affect me in any great degree, would eventually be caught by logs and other people who care about cheaters.

The only kind of hacking I worry about with these MMOs is their billing system.  Some of these morons keep billing information saved on-line and someone with a couple of security hole tools wind up grabbing a list of credit cards from the DB.

It's easy to hack in and play on eq servers for free...

And, though this game will probably be able to take care of their hackers i think a big problem will be the powerleveling and rushes and etc. for i haven't seen anything that explains how they plan to take care of these problems.

I dont think hacking will be a big problem, I dont think the auto programs will be a big problem either. So there is nothing more for me to say. I think your stupid if you want an auto program for WOW, thats like me going to a movie, but having my bro watch the movie for me, while I go sit in the lobbie.

It is really hard to hack an mmorpg, alot harder than to hack diablo or something.  I doubt that hacking will be a problem.

Well, a lot of people play mmo's in order to be the strongest character around. They like to be more powerful than the others around them. I can kinda see why you might want to do that if you wanted to get to a high level quickly, but in my opinion it's kinda pointless and boring.

I'm not sure about you guys, but when I play a mmorpg I like to experience the game as a "whole" meening I like to take in all my suroundings while I lvl.I know some ppl try to become the most powerful char in a day, but thats not how it works... I have played some mmorpgs where I'm trying to lvl up and I see ppl with auto-programs(you can tell when ppl are using auto-programs). If you are using auto programs(in my opinion) you are defeating the purpose of the game. Thats why the say "playing" the game, not "auto'ing" the game.

Hey what do I know ::::39::.

yeah, well they're paying to not play. So, whatever. Maybe they get enjoyment from leveling whilst they go run around and do other things. I think you'd feel more pride if you did those acheivements yourself instead of just running bots.

Now, I'm not saying I'm against scripting or macros. I actually enjoy writing my own macros very much. I just don't like the idea of using said macros to level for you while you do something else. SWG was especially bad about Tumbling. *barfs* I once got so annoyed I wrote my own tumbling macro, stood inside of the Coronet cantina, and just made the most annoying spam messages ever filled with sarcasm about how stupid this was, especially the people asking for money because of it.

I got so many nasty emails... heh.
