Did you know this about Zu Online?

VehuelVehuel Member Posts: 112

I was checking out the website and realized this...

Zu Online is "modeled after"/"based off" of the movie Zu Warriors.

I know there are various Zu Warriors movies out there, but the online game is strictly modeled after the 2001 movie with Cecelia Chung, Ekin Chang, and that chick from Rush Hour 2.

The female character shown here http://zu.igg.com is the character Cecelia Chung plays (exactly the same outfit). I know, the Chinese members of this site probably knew already. BTW, I honestly thought the movie sucked because of poor directing by Tsui Hark. It's really flashy though, lots of special effects...maybe too much.

Currently Playing: 3ds Max 2009
Played and Loved: World of Warcraft, EVE Online, Warhammer Online
Best F2P MMO: Requiem Bloodymare
Want to Play: Aion (See Teaser), DCuniverseOnline (awesome gameplay videos)

Well that's not bad I guess. Even tho the 2001 movie was not so great, the CG effects and designs are worth mentioning. Enough to build a game upon.

heh, that movie was so over the top NUTS!!  I always described it as a live action video game.  To have a game based off it is rather anticlimactic lol.

They should include a copy of the movie with the gamebox.

Have you seen the 1983 film Zu: Warriors from the Magic Mountain (also directed by Tsui Hark)?

The plot was forgettable, but the special effects were spectacular for their time.

If you like this genre, check out "A Chinese Ghost Story."  Great film, great special effects.  It could even be a date movie...

hmmmm... but did you know this:

First of all, as you can see, the Fairy uses only one bead at a time, not a string of beads, as seen on popular animes like Inuyasha and Shaman King. The bead she uses, as I found out from Mythological Symbols must be a pearl, not a hand made bead.

The pearl has a strong connection with the yin principle - the fairy is a female. It is used in the Orient for hemorrhages, eye problems,as panacea and poison cure. So here u have it. The Bead fairy is the Healer of the game. In the Far East it is used for resurrection - in the mouth or in the nose of the death pearls are put in the belief of the reborn in the After World

And more mythology and legend connections on the official forum, here:  http://zu.igg.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=175
