The folks over at Guild Wars have announced the return of Skill and Item Unlock Packs which give access to basic and elite skills from all Guild Wars campaigns.

    Who is in charge of their marketing department? Who would release this after ending a promotion that sorely needed more purchasable items for people who already had all the expansions purchased?

    Haha, good point Jaix. I have no intention of buying anything on the guild wars store using my credit card. If they still offered the bonus pack and this i might have looked into it. Personally i think this is a stupid move on their part, they would have made a lot more money if they offered this last month.

    btw I miss the ealiest unlock packs
    - when they were class-based, not for whole campaign...

    just because hardcore GW fans already have all Proph & Factions skills for their favourite proffessions unlocked...

    but Anet (or NCSoft - dunno) quickly changed the rules and the class-based unlocks were gone and replaced with Proph. PVP Edition, Factions PVP Edition and Nightfall PVP Edition... :(

    I think the GW cash-model is based on such offerings to generate revenue - thus when the Gwen Bonus was over they add this one - and so on and so forth.

    Remember that no more expansions nor chapters are planned for GW1 now - since now they should be working on GW2. Thus they will be coming out with wierd and wacky promotions to still rake in some money while they dev GW2 (which will be a while anyway) and they do have to keep the servers up and running as well for GW1.

    As of this writing this promotion hasn't kicked in yet - so I do not know if the pricing is acceptable for us players.
