Thank you.
Thank you for teaching me all the languages, for teaching me macros to play my songs, for taking me on hunts for so many things, for welcoming me into your guilds, for giving me a house and a place in your virtual city, for helping me with new instruments, for buying me armour I could never afford, for building me swoops, for helping me unravel the mystery of the force, for taking me to see waterfalls, for camping on the beach, for fireworks displays, for teaching me how to catch fireflies in a jar and let them go, for fishing with me, for taking me on PvP runs against imperial bases, for the yacht parties in space, for the x-wing vs. tie fighter PvP duels using voice chat, for all the gifts of special items, for making me cool outfits, and for showing me your houses.
Most of all, thank you for sharing an adventure with my inner child, and thank you for your friendship. I remember my adventures in a Galaxy far, far away very well. God bless you

I don't think you're really stating anything that is new or that many players here are aware of. The OP just wants to share some of his memories of a game that he had a lot of fun with. I'm sure you do that too. Maybe not with video games, but I'm sure every now and then you might say something along the lines of "Oh man, do you remember when we used to play (insert sport here) and we used to play for hours?" Granted I miss the way SWG used to be, but I think my fondest memories will always be the ones when I was a child and we'd do a lot of water ballon wars (we called them wars because they were massive! it was 2 neighborhoods agains each other) but anyway, I don't want to digress too much from the subject... The point being that, we all at some point like to reminisce about things we used to enjoy and I'm sure the OP is well aware that SWG is just a game and that he does have a life outside of it.
Thank you for allowing me to tame the baby before you finished your mission.
Thank you for helping me out when those Nightsisters aggroed on me.
Thank you for letting me get a harvest in for scout XP.
Thank you for stopping by my camp, for Wilderness Survival XP.
Thank you for harvesting that uber avian meat.
Thank you for helping me clear a lair to plant a harvester.
Thank you for not flashing your lightsaber to make up for your small male genitalia.
Thank you for that entertainer buff.
Thank you for the tip after I healed those wounds.
Thank you for your help in dealing with the mobs around the buried treasure.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

So tell me Dr. Phil, did any of your research find anything in regards to a preoccupation of dogmatism?
lol! nice! all I have to say is...

Indeed. Good memories and heartfelt thanks for many good times and friendships that have endured beyond and outside of the virtual playground we shared ^_^. I believe it's an appropriate day for reflection.
P.S. In response to Sgt. W's comments about addiction:
Thinking about SWG on the anniversary of it's ending (in the form we knew it), is like reflecting on all the wonderful moments someone had as a child and perhaps later as an adult at a place like Maple Leaf Gardens. I'm sure many people in Toronto (yes I'm from that area) fondly remember the great games, the Stanley Cups, the great players etc.. I'm sure they think of times they shared there with family and friends. Once in a while, hopefully, they pause to reflect and express some gratitude. The anniversary of the building's closing might be a time like that. That's all very healthy for human beings. It's part of living and experiencing the kinds of losses that we all inevitably experience. Is reflecting and being thankful symptomatic of addiction? No, it simply is not. On the contrary, addiction is giving way to compulsive behaviour designed to keep one from reflecting and feeling. I could go do something to take my mind off of these and many other feelings, but I'd rather reflect, feel, and say thank you.
maybe you sould move on and go into some new game like most of us have
I think alot of people here should take that advice, well said.

Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!

Do you think i should buy the game. I love Star Wars and I have done since I was 3 and I really want it. It's just i dont want to be paying £15 a month for a game that's not worth it and I need to get an idea of what it's like. Plz reply A.S.A.P
Don't waste your money.
SWG is not worth the time anymore. SOE does not deserve your cash.
Save your money, play Fallen Earth when it comes out (granted it's not SW but more like Mad Max) and wait until the Bioware SW MMO comes out.
Ok, imagine how bad it is when the FREE Korean MMORPGS are WAY BETTER then this incredibly shallow pay-to-play POS.
NEW IDEAS that can refresh the STALE state of MMORPGs
Nobody needs to worry about addiction to SWG anymore. Your message might be more useful on the WoW forums.
God bless you too ArcAngel. Thank you for remembering what it all was about back then. I miss the community, but still got the great memories.
Cheers to all helpfull people I played with ingame back in the days. What the heck cheers to all players back then. Even the very helpfull griefers, teabagging me several times a day. :P

LOL!
That made me remember when a friend made a pet named Teabagger, and he'd have him sit on people that got incapped.
I think that's one thing I miss about the old SWG, people just seemed to have the same twisted sense of humor I did. We had a guy named Tony who would come on TS and all he talked about was his Xbox, so another friend named one of his pets (you know those ape like animals) Tony and his attack command was "Where's my Xbox?".
Being able to manipulate items, item names, and the environment made for some memorable moments. I need a game where we can do things like that again.
We made named statues for all the founders of our guild and named tanned hides after some of the worst Aholes we tossed out lol
lol!
I love stuff like that!
lol!
I love stuff like that!
The statue of "Tazz vonMannstein, Corellian Cannonbal Run Racer" (or something like that) which originally stood in the city of Maris Paradise on Corellia (Ahazi) now stands outside his home on Naboo, in the player city of Lake Destiny.
Something you cannot do in WoW.

If you had a hand in any of the greatly enjoyed things I've listed, then yes, thank you too outlaw . Forums don't need to be antagonistic. Be well and have fun while we reminisce.

Lol, omg I met some absolutely hilarious people while hanging around in the cantinas. Wookie dancing girls, bands playing some crazy Starwars version of rawhide, and duels erupting out of nowhere. Good times
