Is this game really any fun? I mean what do you do? Again I'm not bashing it, I'm just curious, and mean the questions seriously. Please enlighten me, people that have actually played the game only.

I love rain, the color gray, and small apartments.
I hate CS, the term n00b and this thing --> ^^
But that's just me.

It takes a certain type of person to have fun in TSO. One of the big issues that keeps coming up is that a very small percentage of players goes out of their way to create fun situations for other players. Much of the time, the creative players burn out, leaving the rest with little to do.

There are jobs that you can do, there are various types of lots, catering to different styles of gameplay and then there are the really creative ventures like the Game Show channel in AV where the host(ess) runs game shows for players to join. There is (has been anyway) Simball - somewhat like baseball, but specifically designed for The Sims Online.

There are casinos, dance clubs, parties, even trivia games at skill houses or poker games at money lots.

With the exception of real violence, what you can do is limited only be the ToS and your imagination. If you're creative enough, the whole world is open to you... if you're not so creative, there are people who play who will help you find things that are fun to you.

It all depends on what you consider fun. If you think that shooting people and going on quests is the only way to have fun in an MMORPG, then you probably won't have a whole lot of fun in TSO. However, if you think it's fun to meet new people, try new things and generally screw around, then you'll probably have a blast.

Fyre is exactly right! Fun is in the eye of the beholder. I, personally, have had a blast, some people might not. I hope you will :D

Well I haven't played any of TSO but I have played TS with all the expansions. I found it very fun because of the lack of any limits. For a single player game, it was pretty could not to have any limits or ending. My main problem is that I don't think I would be interested long. I borrowed TS from a friend and it was interesting for about 2 weeks but it just lost me after that. I didn't feel like playing much anymore. Well we also cheated it to death too. Giving ourselves infinite money and such. After playing it legitly I got a sim to marry and have 2 kids and go through the child raising. What my problem was, was that I wanted to make the most money possible so I always went for the best paying job. This did not take a long time so I was making good money pretty quick. I was able to by everything I wanted and this probably contributed to the boredom I experienced. Also I got bored of doing all the menial tasks in the game. It was always the same. Get them up in the morning, get them to make and eat breakfast, take a shower, and off to work. Then when they arrived home for the evening, get them to make and eat dinner, make sure they go to the bathroom when needed. Certain things just seemed like they were stupid. I sim should no to go to the bathroom. I'm sorry if this is completely different than TSO.
