File Planet has Open Beta Keys & Client available for download - currently stress testing I guess.

From FilePlanet:

Signups Open: Nov 12th

Gameplay Begins: Nov 15th

Event Ends: Nov 18th

There was supposed to be a massive open beta of the game.However the game was judged to be "not ready" when it was supposed to happen in late June/early July.Since then I have seen no mention( I stopped following the game) of an open beta.They are stress testing the game over the weekend.Frankly I won't buy the game till I beta or I see reviews I respect.

Crafting would better be called production. You must own and have access to land plots which generate resources that will allow for automatic item production.There will be production specialization..such as cannons...sails etc.

They never said they were having an open beta.

One of the many times they thought they were close to launch RUSTY(ceo) said there would be a large...tens of thousands of players beta. It was to happen late June/early July.Believe/don't believe as you will. It doesn't matter.

So far after trying this stress test I went in thinking it may not live up to my standards yet due to the lag etc.; however, it didn't seem lag was the problem more with the lack of things that I would consider fun. The ship was cool for maybe the first 20 minutes then it's like ok I'm ready for something else to happen zzzzZZZZZZZ.
If crafting is available to be tested who would know cause it is a headache to even find where to do it. I don't know I am looking forward to seeing other peoples opinions on what they liked / didn't like.

10.000 beta testers doesn't mean it's Open Beta. They invited slews of beta testers, but it isn't Open Beta.

There is no open beta

There is a limited # of Stress Test keys, which expire after this weekend.

There never was a plan, and still isn't a plan, to have an open beta. They have stated this on their public forums AND HERE numerous times. Their current plan is to hold this stress test and anyone who makes it past level 5 gets to stay in the full beta after the stress test is over.

Not once has any FLS rep ever said boo about an open beta.

Good luck getting in. There is big demand for this game. Nothing to play at the moment until AoC and WAR next year. This game may be a sleeper hit.

Nope. We’ll be releasing our big new build to the beta in the next 24 hours and after a couple weeks of shakedown time, we’ll be inviting 10,000 new beta testers in to try it out!

It doesn't say either that there most definitely will be an Open Beta? From what I've been reading on the official forums the last few months is, that there's not going to be an Open Beta, in the sense that it will work like: 'You register and automatically get in'. The stress test offer this weekend came pretty close though.

We did invite ten thousand people all in one go. It's just that ten thousand people is a fraction of the people who wanted in. There's an order of magnitude difference, at least, between what we called the '10k event' and 'open beta'.
