I haven't gotten the game yet, I just have a few questions about it that the game website didn't answer.
One of my favorite aspects of playing these online games is getting different and cool looking armor and stuff. Does this game have a bunch of different types of armor and armor appearances? In Guild Wars, everyone pretty much looks the same all the time and I didn't like that. I read that you can get custom armor dye to change your appearance, but is that the only way?
Are the character models good looking?
Are all the fighting zones instanced? (like guild wars is) I hope not.
thanks!

As far as armor goes, each type of armor has several different versions. The vendor armor looks the same, but quest rewards and drops have very different appearances, all of which you can dye. The character models look very nice, and the fighting is mainly in the open, but each zone has a handfull of instances.
the armor types are too similar looking imho,
there's no telling "or it's a biotechnician, and here goes guardian"
so to buy armor that looks like you want - you'll have to try
"buy @ vendor, relogin, buy again" method.
then use crafting station to add mods to armor...
but, imho the one and only way to differ in TR- it's custom dyes.
btw recipes for dyes has good drop rate
there're instances of the worlds (read GW districts)
- they follow usual MMORPG rules - boss camping, etc...
hopefully there's no ninja looting and kill stealing,
and waiting for the boss who drops quest item to spawn,
it's better to join squad os the quest will be shared
and everyone will get it's copy of the item...
also there are special mission areas (called instances)
- they are INSTANCED (in terms of GW)
- so you gota get a squad before you go in...
Yes, there is different looking armours, but You pretty much wear best armours what levels allow allways. How ever the looks aren't so different allways.
You can change the color of armours or actually only part of the armours. It's nice feature in crafting and don't require any crafting skill.
Yes, I think they look nice, but customation has only few choises.
Most the stuff are in static maps, like main land fighting, but there is special maps connected to them what are instance. Like some small research lab area behind some dungeon could be instance. I don't think instance has much role here, but there is some of them. It's not like in GW, where is alot of instances.
