TR must really suck cause they dont even have a forum

yeah so i played TR since beta and it has so many problems one major problem i had was as a crafter in all mmos' i hated the fact you had to MANUALLY sort and STACK all items in the game

for example you pick up 5 of item a then later buy 5 more of item a..

OR buy 5 of item a then later buy 5 more

either way you have TWO stacks of 5 instead of one stack of 10

its not that you CANT have one stack of 10 its that you have to MANUALLY go into inventory and drag stack 1 into stack 2 of item a to get a stack of 10

there was no sort or stack button

ne being that im a crafter in every mmo i have ever played this was a major major pet peeve and with all my complaining this was never even a issue for the devs to look into

also richard garriot is a liar saying its like a 1st person shooter with cover and stuff.. thats total BS bullets follow you around corners and once your locked on to a enemy you cant shoot others near him or have area damage such as headshots or shooting in arm or leg.. you can lock on shoot straight up and still do the same dmg as if you were shooting dead center

anyway finding out there is STILL no official forum to complain on even AFTER the release of the game tells me this....

Basing a review off a game not having an official forum is pretty silly.Lots of games dont have official forums.WAR will not have one either it must be a huge wreck.

Ther servers are all jam packed with more and more new people joining daily.Tha games really off to a horrible start.

Im really thinking of cancelling because im so distraught over having to drag items to stack them.Its so time consuming and everything.Really is rough im heart broken for the crafters.

I hate to base this on post count alone but there is something wrong here.

1) His first post he ever makes on the MMORPG forums is a flame.

2) He thinks the game sucks because they do not have an official forum

3) He has an extremely weak argument overall even if you take out the forum issue.

Conclusion: Ignore this thread.

I couldn't agree more.

1) While I don't base my opinion on post count, you have a point - seems a little fishy, though it stands to reason that TR not having forums would mean that MMORPG would be a reasonable place to post a rant.

2) Not having a forum is idiotic for a modern game today. No excuse for NCSoft on this one. Not having an official forum is unforgivable and incredibly cheap, inconvienient, and downright stupid. While having no link to the game itself, I give TR and it's backers a huge demerit for this awful decision. I really can't say enough about how short-sighted and lame it is that they don't have an official forum.

3) Agreed, the entire argument, inferring that the game itself sucks because that you can't stack mats. Not exactly a slam dunk.

Conclusion: Too late, we both have put the time into reading, then responding to it.

So when i'm taking cover..and stuff.....i'm imagining it works?? hmmm...oh you mean some bullits still trace you, maybe take a look at the damage you take when behind cover, it does lesson when covering or also mobs miss more often. But they like you have a lock that might hit you a couple of times before you really are behind cover, keep in mind it's sci-fi so don't think conventional weapon use/fire only, think slightly outside the box and not so limited.

Seriously that guy has a point!. Not only he found a brilliant reason why to stop playing a game, but also mentioned another tremendous problem with the official forums. Yeh if there would be a game called Rabula Tasa with the same graphics, customization, gameplay .. in addition it would have automatical item-stacking I wouldn't hesitate and go for Rabula Tasa. Unfortunately there isn't.

Ok let me fix that. Even if there would be a game with the same graphics, char customization, gameplay as Tabula Rasa with an additional feature that automatically stacks same items, I still wouldn't bother to play it.

ok so for #1 the reason this is my 1st post and its a flame is cause TR DOESNT HAVE A FORUM TO POST ON

aka .. i bought EQ2 cause they didnt have a free trial at the time.. same for AA same for lotro same for many others.. yes i actually WASTED $50 on games i never continued to play

but it turns out TR is NOTHING NEW its NOTHING SPECIAL.. its like click all you want he compares other mmos to hit and wait hit and wait a deviation of the old turn base strategy.. well THIS IS STILL THE SAME THING.. click all you want you aint gonna shoot any faster.. shotgun.. k thnx baibai

TR is basicly like RF online BUT NOT AS GOOD

take a ranger in rf.. you pick a target.. shoot , run around, use a skill, shoot, hide behind a tree, shoot shoot.. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME THING they only diffrence is in RF and other mmos.. you click target once leaving you free to not keep mouse cursor near target and use both hands to co-ordinate use of skills and strategy.. whereas TR FORCES you to keep one hand on mouse and mouse on target SEVERLY HINDERING your ability to find cover WHILE useing skills or items by clicking on them with mouse since your mouse is busy trying to keep cursor on enemy

so its like it takes the WORST things from a FPS aka semi fast paced combat at the loss of strategy and forethought

and leaves OUT the best things aka area damage.. headshots/ armshots to disarm. legshots to slow down. ect

and if you WATCH his videos im pretty sure he said TR had area dmg like that which means he allready told a major lie

anyway richard lied his ass off and touted this to be a amazing new game on a amazing new formula for mmos blah blah blash

but the reality.. the REAL reality of it all...

this is any other FREE mmo... just a basic crappy grind fest korean mmo... all he did was overly complicate the fighting mechanix

and THAT will be the downfall of TR

oh and to the guy who said he knew some GREAT games that dont have forums.. first id like to say.. you do know the diffrence between a GAME and a MMO right?

cause i dont know of a SINGLE GREAT mmo that doesnt have a forum... including TR.. remember i said GREAT MMO...

True, people either loved DAoC or hated it, but there's no denying that at one point it held 250k subs and that was at a time when that was a phenominal number for mmorpgs, and they did it without official forums.

With that said, I love TR and am having a blast but I wish they would pick a fansite and make it the "unofficial" forums, the way Mythic did with the VN boards.

i allready said id give you that one lol but even so daoc was a shot in the dark unexpected cult hit sorta thing.. there have been countless other daoc wanna bes that came and dissapeared all without making so much as a ripple in the mmo sea

so its hardly fair to compare a BIG BUDGET game like TR with a game that was pretty much initialy just a side project that flourished

This thread is pretty amusing. You forgot to mention UO. It had no official forums and was arguably the mmo that really kicked off the whole mmorpg genre.

The forum thing is a real annoyance to me as well even though I do like TR. They need to either make their own forums or pick one unofficial site to use. Daoc uses vnboards and UO uses stratics.... Many of the TR fansites have inactive forums because no one knows which to use.

Mmorpg.com is really more of a game review and bs site, not that good for talking about game specifics.....and it has a large population of people who are just out to troll like the OP here. Sometimes you want to find info on the game without seeing a bunch of crap from people who don't even play.

I wonder whatever happened to Imperator....I'd forgotten about that. Guess it got upstaged by WAR.

they used to have a forum during CB.. funny they must have nixed it due to the fact that all it would be used for is people to say "THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!"

Well when you title your thread "TR must really suck cause...." it's hard to take that seriously.

Also why do you care what Richard Garriott says or does? I couldn't care less about him or "Brad" or any other dev. Either his game is fun or it isn't. He could come out and say that playing TR cures cancer and makes you have heat vision for all I care. I don't play the game because of my obsession over "celebrities" in the game industry and what they say. It really has no relation to how good the game is.

Edit: To the guy above me: If they had official forums where only subscribers could post, there wouldn't be a problem. Chances are if you have a subscription, you like the game reasonably well and aren't just out to flame.

i live in san antonio and going to britania manor on halloween is pretty much a yearly event for me and my geek friends

and richard seemed like a cool guy.. but after this whole TR fiasco i dont think ill be going next year
