I have a question reguarding the offline and online characters...
Is hellgate: london like Diablo inwhich the characters you create and play offline are different from characters you play online?
I have a job that requires me to be gone 3 out of the 4 weeks of the month and i dont always have internet, and im hoping that i can play and level my character offline and then connect online with that character and participate in partying and online content when im at home? If this is the case and i can 'upload' my character to online that would be fabulous, however, with most games like diablo you were unable to do-so due to hacking, etc, things that couldnt be controlled while you were offline and playing.

Sadly you cannot. Offline and Online characters are not related, they are actually separate clients, an offline, and online one, so they are not connected.
This isn't possible. Characters are either off line or on line, there's no equivalent of Open Battle.net.
oh well, hopefully later on they will add something like open battle.net. thanks for the responses guys!
I'm not sure how many people can recall this but in Diablo I, the game saved your characters on your drive, which caused people to be able to easily hack their characters and make them invulnerable/whatever they wanted to do. That's why in Diablo II, the non-open servers save the characters on their hard drives, so it's much harder to hack.
In short, I really doubt you'll ever see an 'open' option for this game like D2, because it's certain to be full of hackers, much like diablo 2's open bnet it.
