Hi there..
After a long time with WoW, CoH/V and, well to be honest, everyother MMO that i could get my hands on, i went out and bought the new EQII pack, with all the expansions in it.
So i just wanted to say hi, and i hope you'll be kind if you see me around on the EU servers!

Hi Strezz and welcome to Norrath. I hope you'll enjoy your stay.
(It sounded like an appropriate thing to write heh)
and do not worry, 99% of the people you meet will be happy to see you if its unclear what I mean with that I mean the following: there is almost no persons who behave badly, speaking from my own experience
thanks for the welcome! It's nice to know that most people behave in a good way, since im completely lost!
There is so much to learn, compared to WoW (or any other game for that matter), and that might take me a while. It does seem a bit overwhelming at first, but i'll dive right in, and hopefully be able to "swim" in no time!

welcome, I hope you enjoy your experience. I'm still having fun, and have been playing from opening night (on and off). I just rolled a new character with the expansion, and I'm still having fun.
thanks man! Sounds like it got a hold in ya!
You will find that the community in EQ2 is different from any other game out there. More mature, I suppose you could say.
You will find that people, out of the blue, offer you weapons, armour, and even spells (ones that usually would cost you many gold on the broker, if not platinum). Just the other day, I was actually surprised by a fellow player while I was on the isle making my weaponsmith (she's not intended for adventuring) when someone just walked up and outright offered me some weapons and gold.
You will also find people do things like join a battle with you, to help kill a monster, even though they won't gain anything from it and might die because once a monster is engaged, its locked to the original combatants so anyone new that joins in will get no benefit from killing the creature. They will also do things like random run by healings and random run by buffs.
And for all of that, they'll ask for nothing in return. Some of them don't even say anything to you when they do it.
This type of thing is normal typical behavior in this game. I've never seen a community thats friendlier and more willing to help. Leet Dude type of people are very rare, even on PvP servers.
For myself, I recently had someone help me out with a quest when I had asked for help over the /ooc. He went out of his way to help me so, after he left, I left a little gift in his mail box of a master 1 spell. Since you're new, master 1 spells are usually at least 80 gold or so on the broker. He was shocked and sent me a very nice email thanking me for the gift. I didn't think much of it when I sent it to him. He was just very nice and it was appreciated.
So welcome to the game. I hope you enjoy your time with us.
I agree with what people are saying here. This game has (BY FAR) the best community of any MMO I have played. Been playing for almost 2 years and don't have a single person on my ignore list other then plat sellers.
-Currently looking forward to FFXIV
-Currently playing EvE and Global Agenda
Hey and welcome to EQ2
Playing on Splitpaw myself.

Hi and welcome! Hope you get around!

Hi and welcome.
I play on the US servers myself, tried a bit on Runnyeye first but it lagged like heck. Seems like the US servers have better support and laggs less than the EU ones.
But the good news is that you can have a character on each or four for that matter, just change region when the first start screen shows up.
Cheers!
WHOA!! Thanks guys, girls and good people! Been caught up in the game, so kind of forgot my post here!
The game is VERY nice so far, and i have tried out different types of races & classes, and i think im ready to dig in on a more permanent character!
So here i come! The mage to.... Well.... take charge over the land! or something!
The in-game card game is... Well... i just wanted to take a look at it... and suddenly i was 8 hours in... Damn it's addictive!
CHeers to you all, and thank you once again for the warm welcome!
hi strezz, i my self am a returning player, and i rolled on runnyeye as a necromancer the other day, and ive been sucked in completely with all the content on the game, loving it so far so if you see janesta raisem running around say hi and we can group up or something
*edit* also if you are up for doing a couple of the lower end instances like the orc one in the commonlands im well up for that and also splitpaw saga too, wisper me if and when u want to do it
I am getting a new PC for Christmas and I am thinking about picking up EQ2 again. How is the population at lower levels? Is it easy to find a group?
ive found the population in the newer starter area's quite high on runnyeye which is an EU server, but starting in the isle of the trial i didnt find that many at all, but saying that it is well easy to solo up to the mid 20's early 30's and i havn't been further then that so i couldnt say
the starting isles are less popular (old content)
try starting city of Kelethin, Neriak, or TimDeep
--- if you want to see more new players and MUCH better starting quests
EQ2 fan sites
thanks for the tips.
I think ill give Kelethin a try. I hope there is a surge of new players when Christmas roles around.
I cant choose between the druid, conjurer, or monk. Before I quit thoses were my favorites.
um decision, decisions, decisions.....
I like the monk....feels like being in a bar room brawl.....in a good kind of way.
New player also, currently downloading... not sure what server I want yet but I do know I am going bard, heres to hoping I don't go through these 14 days alone
got the game yesterday and it rocks
