So I came across a new mmo in development in Korea now called Shaiya (www.shaiya.com) but can't find much info about it that I can read, because well most of is in Korean.
Supposedly you can get into the korean open beta but I couldn't figure out how to sign up, I did find the client download though.
I was just wondering how come this site doesn't have any info on it, or if anyone know of an english launch version somewhere down the road.
Comments
This site has nothing on it because it does not have an english client or website. The focus of this website is mmorpgs that are in english in at least one of their iterations.
playing eq2 and two worlds
ahh, I recognised the promo artist right away http://www.kjun.org/ very nice stuff
Too bad the actual game looks crummy.
He's an art director for Aion
Shaiya doesn't look very attractive from the screenshots though.
Granado Espada : L`Aigle
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pr0n surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of 'hot XXX galore'. While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, "'Tis not possible!", I muttered, "Give me back my free hardcore!"..... Quoth the server, 404
Waiting for:

Cheers
graphically, the game looks like a poor imitation of lineage 2
Point and Click?
Both P&C and more traditional WASD movement are supported. From the website (http://shaiya.aeriagames.com/guide/start):
Movement in Shaiya
Movement within the world of Shaiya is very simple. To move your character to a location you have two options.
Option 1: Point and Click method. Simply click on a location you wish your character to run to and they will. Hold down the right mouse button to look around the world. You can also do this using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Option 2: Shaiya also supports ‘W’ ‘A’ ‘S’ ‘D’ movement as well. Pressing ‘W’ will move your character forward, ‘S’ will move them backward, ‘A’ will turn your character to the left, ‘D’ will turn your character to the right, ‘Q’ will make your character strafe left, and ‘E’ will make your character strafe right.
*** Double tapping W will make your character run forward until you stop them by pressing a key again
*** Double tapping ‘Q’, ‘S’, or ‘E’ will make your character leap through the air in an acrobatic display
*** The Space Bar makes your character jump.
*** If you ever get stuck or want to be instantly transported to the nearest City, simply type /return into your chat window and press Enter.
the control ain't bad they're actually kind of smooth. I love the interface I think is the best I've seen in a free chinese mmo the only thing I haven't like so far is that the game doesn't support 1152x864 and maybe the grinding part?

after 10 min in this game, I knew it was time to uninstall.
whats wrong with people now days
Shiaya is a complete MMO without the need of full time grinding as lvling is by doing quests.
PvP is restricted by level range so no worries on being ganked by some high levels. PvPing goes back to classic as mage kills more than anyone else.
So far i love the game seeing that its free and a good time killer while i fix my budget for 2008. To those who only sees the eye candy and rant, learn to appreciate.
All canceled. Waiting on Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning.
The UI is really pretty. Sleek, and not too cluttered.
They copied Lineage 2 engine and added Jump, good game ? I think not .
Grind? What the hell are some of you talking about, the game is quest-based, how can you possibly call it a grind -.-
I decided to give it a go yesterday since I got a beta invite. The community in this game already is a turn off. Everyone acts like kids. I expected more from a beta crowd.
Anyways, game play feels polished. But I don't think I can play it anymore since it's too similar to L2, Rappelz, etc. The other games that follow that mold.

Currently Playing: Guild Wars 2
Jeez i can't believe it is 18+ game. so much kids running around anf the pvp section sucks big time atm.
It's like a big map where whenever you get hit by an enemy you lag for 10 secs :K
Otherwise quite good basic korean dingdong pong
MMORPG
So I checked it out and while the production values are terribly impressive (even for being an poor imitation of L2), I couldn't find any reason to keep playing. I think it's good that some asian MMOs are catching on with the WoW style questing, but questing is still grinding no matter how you put it.
First of all the Arena PVP is nice + whenever you kill a oposition player , he can drop items , whenever you kill an oposition player you gain XP , but if you died you lose XP too
Second , the quests are really good too and nice rewards + there are some nice dangeous .
I saw it has : Cooking , Blacksmith , Herbs , Alchemy which i believe is oki. Also it has some kind of upgrade items. I just tried once but it failed
The W,A,S,D movement is more then good , not like Archlord if anyone knows what i am talking about. Is like WoW control.
I did not liked any game from AeriaGames but this one seems to be OK and free.
I did not like the items from shop. I saw they have a potion which increase like 200% exp , which is not cool !
In rest is a good game , i enjoy it and you may give it a try.
