Something I had forgotten ...

Its odd to me. This whole game.

I played TR in beta and was not impressed in the slightest. I had such high hopes for this game and boom after a week was ready to toss it into the dammit another one that sucks stack.

I mean it had nothnig i was looking for ( damn SWG u have ruined me!!!) and was easy mode worse than WOW. SO i had settled in to play another year of eve.

Anyway here i was looking for something for my 360 and BOOM i walk into a game store and win a free copy of the game for some kinda release party they were having. SO im thinking free month .... free is good adding beer would be better but i can live with good.

SO now its 2 weeks later and even tho it was easy like wow, not in depth like swg , crafting was bleh at best. I started to have fun...

wait...

what ?

fun ... what the hell does that have to do with anything ?

I had forgotten thats the whle point .. fun ( damn you SOE), not graphics that blow me away , not complicated drawn out crafting. just fun.

Man this is great , to feel that way about a game again ! anyway its only been a few weeks but this game did remind me that the whole point i play is fun, and its great to have that being the number one as to why i play rather than what happens accidentally when i log on.

So if you want to be reminded of that one thing that used to be the reason we all played games give TR a try , but dont compare it to anything( it wont hold up ,but so what) , just sit back and ask yourself after 2 hours ,was that fun? It was for me so i think im going to hang around in this game for a while.

anyway, had my say .. flame or agree but give it a shot.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Your completly correct, MMOs these days require a lot of comitment to 'gain' a feeling of achivement, thus they can very easily turn into 'work' or a 2nd job, long sessions and for what? one small item that in the end doesn't really mean anything cuz ethier everyone has it or it gets overwritten within a month or two with a better verson..

TR totally breaks that feeling, you can login, kill a few things, complete a few quests gain an item or two and logout.. WITH a feeling of fun not complete stress as you havn't spend 6/7 hours doing the same thing for nothing..

Even though TR has no gaol as of yet, it's still a very good muck about personally i've spent most of my time chatting in general not actally playing.. MMOs about community (well pre-WOW) and i'm getting that feeling back with TR and yet still enjoy playing the game.

TR is more of a reboot for classic MMO styles, as TBH MMOs these days have become diluted with console gaming themes more then the classic D&D pnp feeling, somthing that TR gives back

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

Yep,  I went through the same process, hated the beta.  In my case it was some guildies from AO that made me give it another chance and find my self having a ton of fun.  And while I could complain for hours on the lack of features,  I don't really feel like it, I'd rather go play ......

    To the OP:

You know I done exactly the same? Pre ordered the game wayyy back (Collectors edition no less) and got into the beta. From the word go, I didn't enjoy it, couldn't put my finger on why I didn't like it, I just found myself getting bored. A friend of mine done the exact same thing too. Neither of us wanted it.

So weeks pass and I completly forget about my pre order till it lands on my door mat, I was kinda like "Oh... damn, forgot to cancle my order, but hey... one month won't hurt I guess." So I sign up and get to it, and i've not been able to put it down.

I don't know what the hell they changed but i'm loving it now. Comabt is so much more involving and fun than I remeber, basically... i'm loving it up to now (Hit 15 last night, had to log out after sitting there for 10 mins thinking wether to go down Commando or Ranger.. didn't wanna ruin the chracter)

Got an IM off my friend a few days after starting saying that hes been playing Tabula Rasa himself and feels the exact same way I do about it now...

I'm not sure what happned, but good going DG Whatever you did at the end of beta, worked.

Yeah i agree with you, im glad the game changed your mind. The most important thing about a game is to have fun, and iff your having fun who cares what every one else thinks.

    Im glad your having fun.
