Yes It has lags and lots of server traffic but the game is worth playing. The grapic is good and the quests are fun^^ btw artimas 12 if u want ppl to talk with choose pacific the server has not so much server traffic as alps, xian and there are really nice ppl. SO PLAY SRO^^

I've played it about 9 month and gained 80 level (max possible lvl) pure str char with all max skills. I even started a new char pure int (magician), but...

The other things are true - Lagroad online, Botroad online etc - all these names fit good for Silkroad.
Well, to be honest there is a way to play it - you can buy a premium ticket 20 $ per month and login w/o problem. Ha-ha-ha hidden monthly subscription. Note: Premium ticket was added recently.
Well, then you will want to buy many items from item mall, so your expenses will be more then 20$.
- Pet - 8.8 $ initial, then 4.8$ monthly.
- Upgrade your weapon/equipment - few $ every attempt (random luck, low probability).
- Extra exp ticket 9.5 - 13 $ monthly (works 3 hours a day)
I've spent at least 4.8 +13 $ = 17.8$ every month and I dont want to pay extra 20 $ to get a right to login in game.
How can they call this game a free game???
I'll better play any other game with monthly subsciption, usually you will get all benefits for your subscption only and usually subscription is less then 20 $ per month.
So I've quit Payroad online and I'm not going back even despite the fact that Silkroad world will be doubled soon (they going to add Europa world - new locations, new mobs, new chars etc).
This game is absloutly great. If you want it for free then dont pay, paying is optional not required and i'd just like to say that getting a high lvl and being strong is possible without paying, if u have the time and effort sadly there is one problem about this game the game masters do nothing to ban botters (people who use bots) so they dont actually apply the rules
i agree with hate but one point im so mad about is botting! When i play for 6 hours and kill my self and they still get a higher lvl, so........i decided to try a bot and i bought sm bot and guess what?! IT WAS A SCAM I left it for half an hour and came back to find all my items gone all my armors gone and all my belongings GONE ! DO NOT USE A BOT ! and to top it all, it had a virus so i wasted my money and my items stolen how bad can it get?!
yes the bots do suck in this game and so does the grinding i thought this game rocked when i first started playing it then i got a quest to kill 200 yeoman or something k i could handle that but then to go back 2 more times to kill another 200 each time this was just plain lowsy quest implementation surely they could have put a little more thought into there quest but that is not where it ends after this you have to collect 200 poison sacks from scorpions from which drop 1 out of every 4 scorps and yes i kept count grinded 782 skorps for 200 pots i dont know why i just did not quit there but anyways go back to town and guess what go and get another 200 pots well that where i said no thx free and good or not that was just plain mind numbingly boring good to try but not good to stay.

Yes trying to log on to silkroad is terrible. The lag is pretty bad. The grinding is worse. The only player skill required is time (lots of it) and auto-pot. Pvp is terrible and pve is worse. No real bosses or strategic battles. Trading is a joke seeing as it takes so long for one trade that you can get more gold just grinding mobs and then you level up at the same time. Unless you want to spend 8 hours a day for a year playing this game then don't expect to ever get to the top level or be able to pvp with anyone.
Only plus is the graphics. I do have to admit the scenery is pretty good.
its rediculously hard to lv...u spend 3 hrs tryin to do a quest...and its all at lv 19..even the maple lving system is better...the only thing that makes up for it is the PvP....and seeing the lv 80 dudes pop out 30k damage on ur ass
I would just like to say that a year ago there where hardly any bots. I was able to log in freely and I don't recall as many disconnections as frequent as there are now. Silkroad Online used to be a real contender with WoW. Now, it is just a bunch of servers occupied by bots. Veteran players are leaving, bot numbers are increasing, and the only way to get on is by watching server list or by buying a premium ticket which brings me to another point. Many people think Joymax is not banning bots because they gain bundles of cash from a) bots and b) legit players trying to have fun. There have been two "massive bot bans" recently which have banned maybe a grand total of maybe 60 bots per server. What they may not realize is that half the server is bots and the servers are not 120 slots large. I beg you, on the behalf of all the legitimate players, to contact Joymax about fixing this problem. Please you may be our only hope.
I have only played this game for three or four days, and from the looks of it I am not going to play it for a long time. It's just too much grinding and horribly boring quests (I like quests and missions in MMO-games, but the way it is done in Silkroad Online is just silly). Not sure what to think of the community yet.
I experienced my first PK today, which was kind of amusing. It was a KSing guy. I had been KSed all day long everywhere in SRO, and decided to share my opinion about it. He must have been one of those full INT mage geeks, as he went down like a sack of potatoes in few seconds. I feel dirty, and now my avatar is sneaking around with a red name tag. He is supposedly tagged as a "murderer" now, which means I will lose quite a bit of experience and some inventory if I die. Oh noes, not one of my 19 remaining horses! :P
Pets look nice. I have always liked pet professions and classes in MMO-games whenever it was present; I was a Creature Handler in SWG and have avatars with all pet professions in Anarchy Online. Especially the puppy and monkey pets in SRO made me go "awww, those are cute!", and who knows: If I keep playing it I will probably put some real money into it to get my own paid-only pets. Sneaky.
It looks good, anyway, except for the grinding. It will take too much time for me to ever get to any high levels (I refuse to use bots, that is not even worth discussing, and it is a huge flaw in the system when the game developer makes a game so that almost everybody playing it end up using bots to be able to keep up with their friends).
Sorry if you find lots of typos here. I've been up all night collecting 100 skins of White Tiger, and 100 eyeballs... yawn! >:P
does this game still exist?i used to play it back in the days when you could log on with no problem but when i started waiting 10 minuts to log i had to quit.it`s preety bad had a guild with IRL friends and we had allot of fun with those trade runs and hunting thieves.but the grind was horible.

There is NO gameplay is Silkroad. The only thing that's left in Silkroad is the graphics. Connection is terrible. Community is terrible. Customer support is terrible. Performance is terrible. Setup is terrible. Do I need to continue?
If you include quests in the "uber gameplay" category. I'll take four of whatever your taking. The quests are long and just tells you to grind more and more.

All of that assumes you can log on. I've spent a few hours trying to, and my father once spent a whole day trying and failing.
To be certain you can log on you must buy the gold ticket each month. The cost for this item is the same for paying a monthly sub in a real game.
SRO is trash, and will always be trash. It is most assuredly NOT a Free to Play game at this point. Not unless you enjoy staring at the screen trying to get in for 5 hours, that is.

yup, i agree, just pay some money and get a good game like WoW, GW, or LOTRO. To much bots, bad questing, and too hard to level up. Give up on SRO.
