I know there are some serious mixed reviews but I really enjoy this game.Lack of end game, sure.Uncertain future , yes! But,we can change that. money equals funds and funds equal fun.I think if you like this game support it.play it like me and help spread the word about how different it is. point out the good things like how the combat is fluid. Easy at first but it gets harder.the clan wars has some Real promise. I know its hard to put faith in something (especially new mmo's) but if if u think this game has potential like I do,be a part in securing its future!  WoW was not so great when it came out but look where it is today.Fans put it there! not Blizzard!i just felt like there needed to be a post that actually gives people a better view on the game.it can be big and it does show promise! Good Day Everyone!

So you want people for pay for something they don't want because someday it might become something that they want?

I haven't seen many mixed reviews--there has actually been many more good reviews than bad.

This game is fun from the start, has had one of the best launches of any MMO, and has a lot of room for growth. I don't see any problems in getting people to play, and them liking it for what is there, not just for what is to come.

They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.
Played: UO, DAoC, AC, WoW, EVE, TR, WAR, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, GW2, TSW, ESO, Elite:D

Good post OP.  This is exactly how I feel and what I have been telling my "guild".

If people need a real life example of the fans creating something, look no further than the Firefly and Serenity story.  Serenity never would have happened if not for the Firefly fans.  If we as fans care enough about something, we can make a difference to it's future support and development.

On the whole this is a good solid game, the next AO and SWG combined.

They just need to keep the nurf bat at bay and put in what holds players long term: decent World PvP with faction pride.

And stop with the potential nurfs .

The game had great potential that they completely canned either due to lack of vision or the desire to release a dumbed down game to go for some easy money. Either way, I'm not forking over cash for a game that I had high hopes for, played, and was massively disappointed in. Depth, where the hell is it?

Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

    TR Fails      it

  • PaxmagPaxmag Member UncommonPosts: 12

I'm enjoying TR so i will be continuing my account and when the free time ends i will start paying. However if i didn't like it i wouldn't pay for future potential. This is a lesson i learnt from Vanguard. I continued to subscribe even though i didn't like it much because i though it might improve but it's hasn't imo.

Saying things will get better is all very well but we shouldn't pay for something difficient in the mean time. TR can certainly be improved but i am enjoy it now which is the key thing.

So, is TR a charity case, now?

Could be--it's not even on Amazon's top 25 in RPGs.

    It's sales that count--not reviews.

I don't think TR is a "charity case" or a "fail".  Plenty of us who enjoy playing can clearly see where the game is great, where it has potential and where it is downright lacking.

However, what TR does need is good word of mouth support at this time.  People are hesitant to pick up new MMO's.  It is a huge time investment on their old characters and in their old communities.  Furthermore, I think some  people (particularly the trolls on this forum) are scared of TR breaking up their communities and guilds as some people leave to try it out.

Those people who do enjoy Tabula Rasa, for whatever reason, should let other people know that it is a good, fun game right now with even greater potential later on.  Those people who are bored, or ready for a new MMO, might listen and  jump aboard.  Of course people who don't like it have a right to voice their opinion as well.  Unfortunatley, those who don't like something are often more vocal than those who do.

What I am saying, and what I believe the OP is saying, is we should support the game where we can, to give it the best possible chances.  The more people who hear one or two positive comments, the more who may find themselves enjoying the game.

Clearly we shouldn't lie, or act like rabid "fanbois", as that is counterproductive.  TR does not crap rainbows and give people free cars.  However, for a lot of us, it is a fun change from our same-old MMO's and we'd like to see it suceed for other people to get  a chance to try it.  Nothing more, nothing less.

I think MMORPG's and other games that charge a monthly fee need to realize that they need to give the game software for free.  Screw the free month in my opinion.  If i could try the game for a month for only $15 or even just get 7 day trial period for free then I would be more incline to try out new games when they first come out.  I look at that $50 box and say..."Nah I will wait till i can get in for free and try it."  I am sure a lot of people are like this.

I can not tell you if I like the game or not, but I am not risking $50 on it.

How about "supporting" some needy orphans or homeless puppies this holiday season?  That's $50 FAR better spent and much more fulfilling, trust me.

    That's a future that's far more important.

After 20 years of (8 of them online) computer gaming, I'm glad there are still games being released that make me stay up half the night :-)

Ace game, even with all the current bugs/extreme lag I keep hearing about but never experienced myself

edit: choosing between charity and games? didn't know one excluded the other...  for bad taste imo
