lord of the rings trial version help

I just started playing the lord of the rings online trail version, and I seem to be unable to IM other players in the game, or send a message to them even after I have added them to my friends list! I am wondering if it because I am using the trial version but that should not make a difference right? I have read the game manual but got little help their. Could it be because I asking another player who is not in the same character class?

Trials cant send tells. The obvious reason is to avoid gold spam.
yea, its implimented for security to prevent constant BOT spam. Although, a lot of times it just doesnt help

Trial accounts can only send/recieve tells to people who have added you to THEIR friends list, fellowship members, and kinship members.
They also cannot send/recieve mail, nor use the auction house, or trade.
This is to help curb the goldseller spam.
It's a pain in the butt, I agree, but this is unfortunately where we have come to in the ages of power-leveling / gold spamming.
I played the trial last week and I was able to IM players on my friends list. The only times I was prevented from IM friends was:
if the other person did not add me as a friend and/or;
when I was not on the original character that added the friend
