well, considering the fact that the game's no longer in beta, and is significantly different now, I would say that this thread needs to die.
What is "significantly different" about the game now ?
I would like to know what has changed.
Tell me when you last played and I will try to give a thumbnail description.
I logged in about 4 weeks before the game went live and it was still the same game.
I would really like to hear what they did to make the game "significantly different" in those 4 weeks.
Ok, you sound like you are serious in wanting a real answer... I will try to provide.
Now just about everything is subjective... That is inescapable ... Unless we were all little clones who think and feel the same exact way.
During the last 2 weeks pf beta alone there were changes to the AI, MOB damage, etc. that some people would say affected gameplay in a significant way... I would agree. It added much needed challenge where there was little before. And I can say that the MOB AI is quite decent at times.. Much better than I have normally encountered in the past.
One could say that all the bug fixes and balancing were relatively successful and significantly smoothed the play experience as well..
There were certainly things tweaked and changed that I barely noticed at the time... or during he brief downtime immediately before launch. No idea what they were, but overall the game "feels" (yes, subjective, I know) different than it did when you last played.
Is everything"fixed" or "complete"? No.... Not by a long shot. There are still some weaknesses in the system. Not enough bolstering of the social aspect, somewhat annoying chat system, etc.
We are told that many things are on the way.... I would say that the future hinges on whether the DEVS deliver what they say is coming.
In the meanwhile? *shrugs* Well, I am having fun... That's really all I am asking... For now.
But make no mistake about it..... They have to deiver as promised..... And KEEP DRIVING IT FORWARD!
And I will be happy to PAY if they do that!
After all, the cancel button is just a click away.
The last thing I would want is a fully finished, yet STATIC game. Change is a given and expected... and desireable!
And that, sir, is my subjective view on the matter.
Thanks for replying, but I have to be honest in that you basically said they upped mob difficulty and that is really all you listed as any kind of "significant change" to the gameplay.
Fixing some of the overt bugs certainly would not improve the linearity of the gameplay so I was under the impression that people stating that the game had undergone "significant changes" just prior to release meant more than changing the mob difficulty and fixing some of the bugs.
Thanks again for replying, I do appreciate your perspective.
Im getting really tired of hearing 'the game needs time' comment. All those new MMO's that launch with broken gamemechanics and/or lack of content, simply shouldnt be released yet. Stop making excuses for developers. Those are commercial companies who just want to sell and if you are not on their payroll, stop using the 'it needs more time' comment!
Accepting this situation as customer only makes sure it wont change, how stupid is that! MMO's are relatively expensive to play compared to offline games and should offer quality for that money. Its that simple.
Its either a polished MMO with lack of content that launches (LOTRO and TR) or it simply is broken (Vanguard). To me it feels almost like a scam, especially if a dev starts promoting their new game as if it is a revolution in the gaming world. You, the MMO hungry ppl are being lead by carrots

I would say the other main thing they fixed just before the game went live was the control point assaults. The bane now assault in large waves, with multiple drops and an assortment of foes - standard footsoldier, technicians, caretakers, hunters, lightbenders, linkers and kael.
There is still plenty of placeholder artwork in the loot you collect. Hopefully their chinese art department willg et off its collective butts and fix some of those - I am tired of looking at thoze bronze toroid things for caretaker masks etc.
Can't, I deleted after 2 days of playing. I thought it was very boring.
Thats funny......
I played it a lot longer than that but my experience was much the same. It was very monotonous and hard to get into. I passed out several times during play waiting for something to spawn at a mission point. The game simply isnt very much fun. Maybe if they had allowed play on both sides and focused on a pvp game it might have had a chance but in its current condition I have to say its doomed to mediocrity and low subscription numbers. It suffers from the same repetitive game play that other NC titles are plagued by.
Who knows maybe Aion will be better.
tabula rasa hasnt been out for very long and already has 10million subscribers.. thats hella good... so for thosw of u who think this game wont make it.. its gonna blast em all... the game is extreamly fun.. the only reason u find it boring is coz ur a newb.

Tabula Rasa 10 million subs???? Where did you pull this imaginary figure out from??
What language are u speaking is that some encrypted message you are sending?
X made suggestions at the Beta forum and was called a troll for doing that. X was just trying to make the game better.
X later broke the NDA by posting here at this forum. X gave us information about the game. X told us whats good and whats bad.
X broke the NDA and got kicked out from Beta and banned from mmorpg.com
Look at the game today. What X wrote here and at the TR forum, was right.
Sometimes it's better to keep people like X. They say what they think and can bring a lot to the game. Isn't that what Beta is about? Testing the game and report what wrong and also give suggestions? Or is about being a fanboi and don't see anything wrong about the game?
Played: From Earth & Beyond, Anarchy Online, Matrix Online, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa (Beta), EvE Online, City of Villians, Atlantica Online, Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Pirates of the Burning Sea, PlanetSide, RF Online, Second Life, Fallen Earth.
The stock has dropped by almost half in the past few weeks. The game is today not even in the top 50 of Amazon's rpg sales ranking. And what I find really telling about following Amazon is how few reviews the game has gotten from customers--as of today, only five, and the last one was November 8. Most games get dozens of comments from amateur reviewers, for good or bad. A review of any kind indicates attention.
Even "Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa" having a nudie-cutie feature in December's Playboy magazine didn't get much play. "Sarah Morrison" spreads her booty in the digital altogether...can the "General British" avatar be expected to grace the pages of Playgirl before his space launch in Russia?
Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you can walk.

Ouch, that 50% stock drop has to hurt.
Can't say we didn't see it coming though.
Only a week away from the 30 day mark too, from all reports the people resubbing are the die hards just like it was in Auto Assault.
I think NCsoft US is in trouble, they have spent so much on TR they cannot possibly recover...
What else do they have for the North American market besides Exteel which is so bad they can't even get people to beta it for free ?
I guess the one saving grace is that Garriott didn't have his hands too far into the City of Heroes pie or else that franchise would probably be dead too.
Wow... You guys are really grasping at straws these days to keep the little propaganda train going. First decent release this year (to my taste) and it's nothing but nonstop hate from a few of you. Good luck on the crusade.
Feel free to explain how NCsoft's stock taking a 50% plunge is some form of propaganda on our part.

The facts speak for themselves.
Dude... I have been watching you guys for a long long time.
I even believed you for a while and decided not to waste $5.00 playing during beta.
Then one day I passed the beta in the store and picked it up on a whim... as I was bored at the time.
LO AND BEHOLD! I learned quickly that what you guys were spewing was just a bunch of hot air... tho it is presented as fact. Opinions repackaged as gospel truth!
And yet... it was the first beta I have fully enjoyed playing.
So now I watch you guys "haunting" the board of a game you don't even play.
What you are doing is pretty obvious.
Now if you care to objectively discuss TRs shortcomings and what could be done to rectify them? I am all game!
But given the current volatile situation in stocknarkets WORLDWIDE as the credit crisis deepens and making it into a game issue? Now THAT is grasping at straws! NCSoft stock isn't the ONLY one that has dropped lately, of that I assure you. There are likely to be far worse developments on the economic front for that matter. And hey, if NCSoft stock rises, will we see you on here trumpeting that?
More propoganda--the Asian markets have done rather well the same weeks NcSoft has dropped, because of the lack of confidence in the $.
The real haters out there are all the gameplayers not bothering to buy the game. Another way to watch for sales/popularity is to click on tr.stratics during playing times and wonder at the "low" and "medium" US servers. Actually, visit all the fan forums and note the low numbers of postings. Centaurus, the EU server, is busy. But the three US servers are not as busy as they were recently. It's going to be particularly interesting the first week of November, when players have to decide if they've had enough fun, or want to continue and pay a subscription.
Reviews are unreliable, since they are dominated by those sentimental about, or even slavishly devoted to, the developers.
Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you can walk.
And that is quite enough.... This isn't a financial forum after all.
Carry on further economic arguments without me.
But I DO agree with you on one thing Fordie... It will be interesting to see how many people carry on beyond the first 30 days. And how many are still laying back waiting to see what happens.

You are quite welcome.... Regrettable that you saw so little in it.
But people see what they want to see... or not.
Good luck in finding that "special" MMO made just for you.
been playing it for awhile and its like any other mmorpg but with guns/staff/swords. I like it since no other game seems interesting to me.

at least darkfall is taking a bit more time to make a game with the features they promised XD
