Hey guys, just a little curious to what everyone intends to play? Also, on another note, what would you say is the most populated class in Tabula Rasa so far?
For me, the Guardian is a must, I can't help but run up and smack things about with the butt of my weapon, but I also break them alot doing this too, so can't wait to start using that staff.
I've not played enough to determine which is the most populated class in my opinion.
How does stealth work in this game? I noticed that rangers and spies can wear stealth armor-does this work like in other games where you can become invisible whilst wearing it?
Guardian but have another going for Sniper and a noob starting up for one of the specialist routes. Enjoy being a tank right now and rifle butting critters

It just reduces aggro range. If you'd normally be detected at 100 meters, wearing a full set of Stealth armor at pump 5 would mean they wouldn't detect you until you got within 25 meters (or even less, if you're behind them and they don't turn around). There's no visual effect (you don't look hazy or anything), and it doesn't work in pvp. It's helpful for getting into position, and can also be very useful in escaping tight situations; if there's any break in line of sight, wearing a full suit of pump 5 Stealth Armor usually means you can run around a corner and disappear quickly enough that they'll lose track of you.
Spies do get an ability called Cloak Wave. It creates a stationary field with a range of 25m, and you'll basically be invisible to mobs while you're inside of it, but it doesn't move with you and, to the best of my knowledge, it won't do anything to conceal you from mobs that you actually attack.
Spy in first eh? Didn't see that one. One of the biggest perks to this game for me is the guns... why would I want to use a blade? If I want hack and slash action I'll go play some other normal mmo... Maybe I'm wrong? How dependent are spys on blades?
I'm going Medic, after I get her to 50 I'm going to bring up my Guardian. The only other specialist class after that I want is Engineer. I like their utility. Alot of people seem to want Sniper/Spy.

I don't know how dependent they are on blades, but they sure look cool as all running around with those sharp glowsticks! the sound effect the swords make are awesome too!
I'm working on Engineer, I want the wormhole, the Mech Armor's power regen is helpful, being able to repair and heal, and the robots sound pretty neat, though I keep reading that the pets are buggy haha
I was torn between Sniper and Engineer but I'm going offense first with Sniper. I'll probably clone and do a Spy as well b/c those swords look awesome!
I want to try exobiologist real bad, but i've read from a few threads that the pet AI right now is terrible could anyone clarify? I can't play just yet working on getting a new video card so i can begin, should be able to in a few days. After that i'm hoping pvp will be better once i've dont that and i'm planning on trying out a demolitionist, seems like burst damage would be perfect and exbiologist seems like it would have a hard time considering there would be a shortage of dead bodies around.

I've been playing medic/exobiologist. The bio pets are good...almost. You can determine what weapon/armor the clone uses by what you have equipped when you clone yourself. If you want a leech gunner, slap on a leech gun. If you want him to do radial repair, put on a radial repair tool etc.
The problem with the clone (and rezzed pets) is that they don't really attack when or what you want them to. They are supposed to assist you if you attack something or defend you if you're being attacked. Unfortunately, they don't usually do this until the mob is already dead or close to it. Many times the clone will run up, cast lightning, run away, shoot a shot or two if the mob is still alive, run back to you, etc. Other times the clone will run away and shoot a mob that isn't aggro'd already. The reanimated pet, many times, only attacks once or not at all (just follows you around).
I think there need to be a way to manually command your pets. If there was, exobiologist would be great. Corpse explosion is pretty good in pve. You can flatten a group of enemies in no time with only pump 1. Reanimation wave can be pretty fun if not borderline overpowered in some situations. As far as pvp, the clone by itself would be really nice if it actually did what you wanted it to. You'd have your own personal healer, leech gunner, or damage dealer with logos abilities included.
Engineer pets in contrast seem to be a bit better. Shield bots follow you around with a shield all the time. The AI doesn't need to be that good. Medic isn't bad but they're about to totally redo the class. If I had to choose again I'd probably be a soldier or sapper for now. I do like injection guns though.
The Spy class is retardedly overpowered at the moment. They can solo endgame (group only) instances, single shot kill 90% of the creatures in game, and SELF RES/HEAL... Why are we playing any other class?
I'm a sniper but it's a little gaffed up still. You can't see many enemies at the most effective range for a sniper's torqueshell (80m) Stealth..... well quite honestly I don't have much faith in it. The delay on the torqueshell rifle is a bit of a bitch and anyone who has pulled the trigger >>> lagged >>> wait >>> hit a linker >>> dead sniper can tell you. ( also it's cousin.... pull trigger >>> lag >>> wait >>> thrax tech revives shield drone right around the mob you're aiming at >>> once again, one dead sniper) Also, this whole "cover" thing can be cool but sometimes a bit foolish. I can have an obvious clear lane of sight to a target like a stalker which has to be like 10 stories tall, I get in a clean firing position, and pull the trigger and get the ol' "I can't see my target" message. (yes, I understand the HUD and know if the mob is under cover or not)
Hopefully some tweaks will be made here and there and I have faith that they will, this is still a young game after all. I'll grind along at any rate, hope for the best and try to play my class to the best of my ability.

Oh idk , maybe because people play for fun not ez mode? Heh.

Cause people know its gonna get smacked around with the Nerfbat...so i suppose they want to avoid dissapointment
Going Guardian first - in a world of high-tech ways to bust a cap in other peoples asses, a big stick is still the funniest way to tell someone you don't really care for them and their goat

Demolitionist !
The moment I read the description for "self destruct", I was sold!
with many alts seem to have settled on grenadier, although demolitionist/medic may take over.

To me, it just makes sense that in a world of guns... why not go for the ones with the farthest reach? Snipers.
In fantasy MMOs, I always end up playing a tank... So I'm sure I'll take one of my clones to Guardian too, eventually...
