New guy with a few questions.

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about giving DAoC another go lately, and since I didn't want to spend the fee without being sure, I figured I'd give the trial a shot. I just had a few questions about it first:

Firstly, I was wondering about the cost of upgrading to all of the expansions if I decide to stick with the game. Is it much more expensive than just getting the 5th anniversary edition (like having to buy every expansion seperetly, or do they give you an all-in-one option if you decide to keep going after the trial period?)

Secondly, which expansions are crucial when it comes to playing on the classic cluster? Would the trial client be enough to experience most of the rvr element even at the higher levels?

I had one last question, but this is a change of subject - I've always really enjoyed the time I've spent playing DAoC from time to time, but the one thing that I always seem to have the worst luck with in this game is getting into a guild. It's ultimately the reason I always end up quitting since from my experience with other MMO's I've played (and I've played many), the community makes up a huge part of the experience. I've been in a few guilds from the time I've spent on DAoC but they were usually either really inactive for the most part, or the people were jerky to new members. All I'd really like in a guild is a friendly, patient group of people that like to enjoy all aspects of the game, wether it be RvR (which of course is the main focus of the game, and I'm all for that ^_^) or maybe a little PvE once in awhile to change the pace. I'd like to experience everything this game has to offer, and I know it'll be a heck of a lot more enjoyable with friends and allies.

So my question is: Are any of you Albs part of a guild that wouldn't mind recruiting a new player to the ranks, or maybe know of a guild like that? I plan on going with a Friar since I really enjoyed them when I played em, and I'll be making him on the Classic cluster (Gareth server more speicifically.)

Anyway, just wanted to throw those out there in the hopes of some helpful info. Thanks in advance for any help, and I'm looking forward to meeting and partying many of you Albs from the classic cluster soon ^_^.

A short answer is that for a classic server you do not need the Toa client, however you do need the catacombs client at this time (which is a free download)

Good luck in the frontiers. Beware hibbies

    1.  The trial will be fine for now.  What you will want if you continue to play is access the Labrynth which will require the LotM expansion.  That will require the previous expansion.  The cost of both is $30 total, or $20 each if you do not get them at the same time.

    2.  The trial is enough because you won't need to go into the Lab to RvR unless you just want to do that.

    3.  No idea.  But go to think link and click on all of the recent guilds news to see which guilds are going out of their way to recruit people.:  http://www.camelotherald.com/community/

Thanks a lot for the info ^^. I think I might actually just re-activate my 5th anniversary-enabled account so I won't have to worry about getting those expansions later. If I do end up sticking with the game, it'll be the cheapest way.
