SzarkSzark News ManagerMember Posts: 4,420

CCP has announced that hey have launched a site dedicated to the upcoming Trinity expansion for EVE Online.  The site displays all of the features of trinity in great detail, as well as a few videos and interviews.

EVE Online is a massively multiplayer game where tens of thousands work, compete, play and fight in a dark and dangerous sci-fi world. It's a beautiful place, and is about to become absolutely gorgeous.

This winter we will be releasing the Trinity expansion. This constitutes a massive change in the world of EVE: Not only is the expansion packed with new features, but it also includes a graphics update of gargantuan proportions. Every ship, station and stargate has been completely overhauled from start to finish, resulting in an amazing splendor of spacefaring sights. It really has to be seen to be believed, and once Trinity arrives and you log on to EVE, we're convinced that you will never look back.

On this page you can see what it's all about. We're listing the features of Trinity, showing you interview clips with some of the people responsible for its creation, and displaying some screenshots and wallpapers based on the incredible graphics Trinity will bring. We want you to get a feel and a passion for the game, so if you're not already playing, grab a free 14-day trial and immerse yourself in EVE Online. Come Trinity, you won't believe your eyes.

Visit the Trinity site here.

They wouldn't put it up if they weren't getting close to launching it. That means it's coming really soon. I'm gonna spend the whole first day just staring at all my ships for a couple of hours so I don't end up doing it at a more inopportune time.

I wonder how much all this changes the system requirements?

Actually if you don't have a POS that is Five Years old, you will probably see a performance increase, as the new Architecture will handle load balance much better, however if you are using  a pent III, with a 5200 Geforce card and a rocking 512 mb of RAM  you might have issues.

Well for those who are waiting, if you go to www.eve-online.com and read the first Quarterly Economic Report that's ever been done about EvE, in that report the author (an employee of CCP), directly says that the expected release date is November 29th, if I remember correctly.

You can read it here :  EvE's Quarterly Economic review.  However, after trying to find it again, it looks as though the original document has been edited to remove that date.  I will post my own saved copy, for those to read.

So not too long to wait either which way.

the single mmog on the market that evolves with time instead of milking the cow, ofcourse they are dumbing the game a little, they are no saints, but there is no game to content and features at this moment on the market, thank god is complex so not all the brainless players are in it, 200k subscribers, 2003, free addons, and with the new patch content for another 1 -2 years, real pvp, fuk yeah. GJ CCP! No, i am not a fanboy, but these days there is nothing compete with these game, tho i miss a good fantasy game..from Asherons Call...

Am I the only person *not* thrilled by Trinity?

I mean, I keep looking and looking at the screenshots, and yeah, there appear to be more polygons on the ships. But the planets still look as boring and featureless as ever, and once you've seen a dozen Nebulous Backdrops, you've seen 'em all...or enough so as to not care anymore.

I'll still upgrade to it, because I'm not running a Pentium III, rollin' a 5200 and 512...but still, to *me* at least, Trinity seems as overhyped as Hellgate. It's not "revolutionary" by any means. It's a step graphically of "WoW to LotRO", not "WoW to Crysis", yet, it's getting Crysis-level hype...

*yawns and goes back to sleep*

Err try reading up on it a bit  Its only the Ships, Stargates and Stations that are being effected right now.

Planets asteroids backgrounds ETC are being done later.

Mr Bubbles is right... this is just the first step in a number of  additions coming. CCP has decided to release smaller patches more often instead of gigantic patches very frequently. The future also still holds DX10 graphics, added effects such as smoke and fire to name just a couple. The beauty behind this is you see new content more often and CCP is more able to respond to flaws. Thats just my 2 cents... but Canadian so thats like 2.02 cents American....
